  1. and that's why it looks so bad
  2. the cast I had in that video was a "Temporary" cast, it had a slot down the front to deal with swelling. When I've had leg casts before (twice) they were full ones, built up with padding and fibreglass, I don't think any actual plaster was used. Breathability wasn't a huge problem, though I must admit it did smell a little towards the end, when I got it off I had loads of dead skin which was very satisfying to remove.
  3. Not being able to get them wet was the biggest ballache I found. I had to put my leg in a bin bag and tape it to my thigh. It still let in a little water and pulled my hair out when I took it off. Some king of leg/arm shaped bag with some kind of re-usable seal would have been ideal. Itching was annoying too, but a spoke usually sorted that out. I also found my toes got cold, I did stretch a sock over the cast which helped a bit, but my toes still felt vulnerable. Some insulated sock thing with some kind of toe protector would have been good.
  4. Some Ozonys frame I wasn't willing to sacrifice grip of the tyres, strength of the forks or the quietness of a front disc.
  5. seems realistic to me.....I remember when I went all out on a light spec bike, ti bolts, drilled frame and it came in at just under 10kg.
  6. but then it wouldn't ride as well
  7. Sure, I don't think it's that spectacular, but I'd be interested in seeing it
  8. cool stuff Mat, was nice to see a lot of stuff I missed, some pretty big riding went down. I was hoping you had filmed my foot snapping on that drop....oh well.
  9. it was a video taking the piss out of him for getting angry, not an actual riding vid.
  10. same thing as sprinters using starting blocks on their heels.................
  11. I go for the standard BMX technique, get the vertical part of the bars in line with the headtube.
  12. not sure if what your saying is getting lost in translation but it makes no sense, are you saying narrower chain pins are weaker?
  13. I don't even like the feel of them on the rear wheel.
  14. you'd of hated trials back when we rode non-trials parts
  15. I wasn't going to reply, but I'm a little bored so here's my take on it. UCI sections have seemingly become entirely man made (there are the odd natural ones though) and they usually follow a routine of getting up an object, then down again, then up another, then down again and so on. They seem to limit riders to one move per object by either having narrow gates or short run ups. this means sidehops and up-to-front are the most popular method of getting up things so rear wheel stability is a higher need rather than say how well the bike rolls or whatever. Riders have made companies make frames with higher and higher bb's to aid rear wheel control and give a little more ground clearance, this has shortened the reach of the frames so they are now sticking super long stems on them. some people can't find stems long enough so they tilt their bars unusually far forward to give the bike extra reach and make it sit on the rear wheel even easier. Now, for the act of getting up and over UCI sections, for a couple of people is seems to work really well, I still think a correct stem and normal bar angle will be better, but I'm not sure if such a stem is available (at least for sponsored riders who have to use trials branded stems). Unfortunately because some a couple of very good riders have done this, lots of other people think they should do the same and it very rarely works as well but they either don't realise it or don't want to think it could actually be worse for them. I think that it ruins most riders style and you should only consider it if you are top level UCI riding, not just out riding the streets.
  16. some of them look werid, but no worse than Ribos, some look similar to Addidas, some look skate shoes (my choice).
  17. curves have their place, I.E downtubes ONLY, no stupid humpbacks please *cough* *Monty* and no random curves that don't match *cough* *Neon* *cough*
  18. nicest seatless trials frame going! If it had vee mounts I'd almost be tempted. Pretty pimp spec too and nice to see it's a decent weight, you just know it's going to ride well, no flex, decent tyres and a quiet front brake, no worries of snapping anything.....proper bike that is!
  19. I highly doubt it, I'm not wanting to cause an argument on Stan's video topic so that's the last from me on that point.
  20. best vid I've seen of Stan for a while, such a nice style! Those lines are not small either. I'd like to see anyone do that last line with their super high bb and upside down bars!
  21. just some other options..... I'm quite a fan of Teva, I've had some Teva Cranks for a while now and they are super comfy, great quality and offer great grip and feel. If people are wanting a little less skate-shoe-like then here's a couple of options http://www.teva.co.uk/mens-fuse-ion-casual-water-shoes/1000225,en_GB,pd.html?dwvar_1000225_color=BLK&start=3&cgid=men-shoes-water Still a little skate looking, but water resistant and sticky sole http://www.teva.co.uk/mush-frio-lace-canvas-lightweight-shoes/4320,en_GB,pd.html?dwvar_4320_color=TVBL&start=9&cgid=men-shoes super light weight http://www.teva.co.uk/mens-royal-arch-wp-waterproof-cross-terrain-shoes/1000302,en_GB,pd.html?dwvar_1000302_color=LMGR&start=16&cgid=men-shoes http://www.teva.co.uk/mens-reforge-eVent-lightweight-hiking-shoe/1000187,en_GB,pd.html?dwvar_1000187_color=BLK&start=20&cgid=men-shoes http://www.teva.co.uk/cherry-bomb-2-kayaking-booties/1000150,en_GB,pd.html?dwvar_1000150_color=BLK&start=21&cgid=men-shoes something to go with your Lycra http://www.teva.co.uk/mens-churn-evo-lightweight-water-shoes/1000127,en_GB,pd.html?dwvar_1000127_color=BLK&start=28&cgid=men-shoes http://www.teva.co.uk/mens-links-mountain-biking-shoes/1002689,en_GB,pd.html?dwvar_1002689_color=BLK&start=22&cgid=men-shoes sticky rubber sole
