And how does anyone do this? As has been accepted the vaccines aren’ta cure, they don’t fully protect you and there’s no proof they reduce symptoms…how can a vaccinated person prove they’re a reduced risk?
-
Yeah where do you draw the line? Should unvaccinated people be refused medical treatment? If so what about smokers? As soon as an extreme rule is accepted it opens the gates for other rules veiled as being “good for us”.
-
The issue I have is that everyone's been whipped into a mass hysteria, the vaccine isn't showing to be all that effective with boosters, still being transmittable, still allowing people to get sick etc. You may argue that it lessens the chances of dying but I don't think there's any solid evidence the vaccine is solely the reason why that could be happening. As I've said earlier in this thread, viruses as they mutate become more suited to their host...at the start of the pandemic humans were new to the virus and potentially quite deadly but as time goes on it mutates into something that is still contagious but less deadly (that's what the virus wants, it wants the host to live and spread to new ones, a dead host isn't very useful). So rather than the vaccine being responsible for less severe cases it could just be that the virus itself is less deadly. The vaccines also seem to have a 6 month lifespan (hence boosters)...are we going to be dependent on injections for the rest of our lives? And that's the next issue...no-one is being told that there's ANY alternatives than to take the vaccine. People are being put against each other and critical thinking seems to have gone out the window and even punished! I just see this lockdown for the unvaxxed as the next step in us relinquishing our rights and freedoms and I honestly think that having to defend this opinion is very worrying.
-
Oh definitely worse. I don't fully agree with the lockdowns we had but forcing people to isolate because they don't want to have a drug injected is so wrong. People with the vaccines can still get covid and still transmit it.

what cable are you using?

So Austria...locking down unvaccinated people. This is a slippery slope

Fitted my new ceiling light, quite cheap but matches my white and wood vibe I’m going for. I’ve put a couple of smart bulbs in which I can control from my phone (brightness, warmth plus colours) or with Alexa if I wanted. I’m very pleased with it especially for the price
-
That would drive me mad My update is that my desk top arrived, I’m building a custom one with a sit/stand base and wanted a solid wood top. Went with a beech kitchen worktop with beveled edges and oil treatment. I then found a similar shelf (which hasn’t been treated yet) as a monitor raiser with some white IKEA legs too match the white frame. I’ve bought an 80mm auger and once I know where my monitors and computer will go I’ll drill a nice grommet hole for the cables. Got a carpet fitter coming to measure tomorrow, we’re hoping my measurements were accurate as it means we can use their largest size to fit with no seams in the long hall and also fit the office…for less than £300 too (minus underlay and fitting costs)…can’t wait to have the carpet in and be able to get my desk built!

Ah that makes sense, I hadn’t considered it as part of a loop. So far the house has never given any issues (with Jane’s aunt who had it from new or with us) like tripping switches, flickering lights etc but I guess I’ll be putting more juice through these office sockets than they’ve had before so hopefully they’ll be fine until we face the daunting task of new wiring…not looking forward to doing that!
-
Until we get the electrics looked at I’m just carrying on, I replaced the plug socket with a triple with USB, saves an extension cable and charger adaptors…are house wires usually doubled up like this? Apparently the house was built by a very reputable company known for quality houses (they’re still going strong today) and I’m wondering if they’ve just done extra quality on the cables or if this is normal? I’ve now finished painting the office and all the gloss, very happy with it. I also fitted new vents and wardrobe handles, again very happy and will match my desk nicely. Ive also got the first coat of paint in the hall, just needs one more and it’ll be good to go. Got carpet fitters coming to measure up on Tuesday and once that’s fitted I can start furnishing it all. After that we’ll start on the lounge and dining room (which will be Jane’s fitness room) which involves removing a big fireplace, it’s going to be messy!

I feel like I'm gaining brain cells just by being near this thread, some impressive stuff indeed!

Spoke to Jane, we'll get her brother to look...ignorance is bliss isn't it!

You could say it was a step up…just uploaded this weeks video, it’s a shorter (ten mins) but still 4k. Previously this would take at least an hour but likely more…today it did it in less than ten mins I’m going to like this!
-
Solid green here too Finished painting the walls in the office, just need to go over the gloss and it’ll be finished. started work on the hall in the mean time, wallpaper stripped and holes filled, just need to sand it smooth ready for primer. We’re going to get the carpets done at the same time which is why we’re tackling them both now

Since May I’ve been using my phone data as my sole source of internet, this includes uploading my vlogs (some were 30 min+ 4K!), my last video took almost 24 hours to upload due to poor connection speeds Today I had broadband fitted, finally some decent Wi-Fi and an Ethernet cable for my office, this will make life so much easier!!

I asked Jane about this the other day…it’s old decorating so I was worried it was old wiring too, Jane’s brother is an electrician and could do the house if needed but he hasn’t mentioned anything about the wiring which I hope is a thing (or possibly avoiding the subject so he doesn’t have to do it )
-
That's assuming I've got the computer skills to make that happen. Hint...I don't
-
I’ve gone for a blue but non of those
-
6 days in, wallpaper is all off, imperfections filled, walls have been sanded (including sanding down two big lumps from the fitment of the air vents), walls prepped with a plaster sealing primer, woodwork scrubbed, carpet removed and some paint tested…it’s coming along!

The toilet is staying exactly where it is, not touching that

Started some DIY on the house...we decided that a loft conversion probably isn't the best idea just now so we're putting it on ice until we know we can comfortably pay our mortgage and bills before getting out any other loans. Instead we're concentrating on just making the house ours (which is weird as technically it isn't ours yet) and I'm starting by making the spare room into an office. Since doing my vlogs I've never had a proper office space, just a desk shoved into my tiny room in my old flat so to have a space I can actually have a proper desk and storage plus a sofa (bed) and TV will make organizing all my equipment and editing a whole lot more streamlined plus I get a place to chill and play games etc. Jane is going to have the dining room as her space to do Yoga and teach online movement classes. So far I've stripped most of the 50 year old wallpaper, pretty tedious as it's been painted over so the steamer doesn't work as well but it's almost done and fortunately the plaster underneath is in great condition. Next I'll sand it and paint it with some plaster sealing paint and replace the carpet...never really done any DIY before so I'm feeling very manly right now

This seems like it’s a pretty high-end company, you get a single project manager throughout the process from start to finish. I’ll get some more quotes but I guess this is just a bad time in general to be looking at this sort of work

Not angry but a little disappointed. As some will know I’m about to permanently move into my new house which is a two bed Bungalow. We’re needing to redecorate as the previous owner was a 93 year old lady so you can imagine she had different tastes (shame as the house is immaculate!). Before we decorate we wanted to convert the loft to futureproof the house for when we eventually have children…we like the idea of a bedroom and office upstairs which leaves two spare rooms downstairs, it’s also adding value to the house which isn’t a bad thing. Because it’s a bungalow the footprint is quite large and has a large loft space…we had someone come round to give a quote and he said we had a usable space of over 70sqf. I had in my head roughly 25k for a simple conversion…we got quoted 80k! they said we didn’t have to use all the space and would still have a couple of nice big rooms if they brought the walls in a bit (which makes sense) but even then it was 40k we need to get some other quotes but loft conversions are more than I thought, I guess rising timber prices haven’t helped

I’m still unvaccinated and have no plans to get them. Im noticing more comments on social media from people being vocal against the vaccines and how the media has presented info, I was just curious if that’s just my media showing me stuff that’s in my “bubble” or if these feelings are more widespread?
