  1. Drops are not so bad on frames (nice strong triangles) it's more the twisting forces from spins (or lack of landing them straight) that kills frames.
  2. some people don't want to gamble with a Marino and want the best. If you think it's too much then that's your opinion but accept that to other people who are prepared to pay for quality then the price is worth it.
  3. They're not. Obviously there's a lot of different types of steels, then there's quality control, custom tubes/frame parts, finish of the frame etc, just because one steel frame made in a shed might cost £200 doesn't mean all steel frames are in that same bracket. You can get a cheap alloy frame from a factory in Taiwan for peanuts, that would be cheaper than a good quality steel frame so steel isn't always cheaper. Most custom Ti frames will be upwards of £1000 barr one company which you'll have trouble getting a frame off any time soon.
  4. steel isn't always cheaper, the price depends on quite a few things. I assume you're on about 2 top level BMXs? The difference there is BMX is huge compared with trials, they can order thousands of bikes/components/frames (I think WTP sell hundreds of thousands of bikes a year if I heard correctly). If they only sold the volume of bikes that trials sells then they would cost a LOT more! People seem to want the best but then complain about the price, companies can never win
  5. I use the older one because I can't really afford to buy new ones, I'm not super keen on the newer levers either. Oh, I use the Shimano XT 6 bolt rotors too.
  6. you said it wrong, it's officially a lighter oversized BMX with brakes, make sure you get it right next time
  7. Chase always lands everything so perfectly, style.
  8. the Skye geo is vastly improved with the shorter back end, but 10mm bb rise and 73 head angle? No thanks.
  9. I honestly have no idea when they are getting released but I just asked Danny for an official quote of his opinion on the Arcade......"They're shite, buy a Skye". He is obviously mentally deranged so I wouldn't take much notice really. For cereal I gather he does like it quite a lot but obviously he also likes the Skye quite a lot too

get that weight further forwards and go a bit faster
  11. it's not too bad to be fair, that apple core is already in the bin
  12. made a fancy dress costume assuming my party hardy flatmates would be going out tonight, seems they are not.....little bit gutted but it does save me money I guess.
  13. well yeah, you'd have to steepen the head angle too.
  14. yeah, I don't really understand why comp bikes don't have longer reaches and shorter stems, doesn't make sense in my head to use such long stems
  15. longer reach means you can use a shorter stem which is better for spins and tricks
  16. to be honest, I don't feel the difference on bikes like ours. I think the tubes are so short that you don't really get the same "flex" as you do in say an XC bike where they have quite long skinny tubes. To me the advantage of steel is just in the strength (and looks). I do often ride bikes with brake levers mis-aligned and the stem pointing off at a slight angle so I might not be one to talk really.
  17. I just like the look of a seat and bigger triangles
  18. I've been wanting a comp geo bike with a seat for a while now, thought I'd get laughed out of town if I suggested it.....a bike like that needs to exist
  19. 18-15 would be to hard not too easy for a bigger wheel. For a 29er I think more like 18-17
