nice modelling!

just been out teaching a track rider to trackstand and my friend came out with his camera and got a couple of snaps, I'm pretty happy with some of these moves as they are the first times I've done them since injuring myself last year. pedal gap tyre tap dropgap drop

it's open to any type of trials (although brakeless would probably be very limited). From my point of view I'd like someone who bunnyhops so we can have a proper hop comp but I'm not going to cry (too much) if we end up with someone who has to sidehop it .

You don't need to be at a super pro riding level BTW, as long as you're comfortable with drops and heights you should be fine. We have a ladder on the rig that goes up to 10ft so if you think you could ride up that then that would be a bonus. What I'm saying is that you should probably enter anyway.....you never know.

yes I do, if the bars are in the same place reletive to the front axle then it doesn't matter what length the stem and how steep the steerer tube is the bike will still endo and backhop the same but a longer toptupe, steeper head angle and shorter stem would turn and pivot better. I was hoping it was have a lower bb and not a chopper-esc headtube angle.

Height of box 60 or 70 mm, Steering angle 71.5 ° 71.5 ° no thanks

Yeah... we talked about that already....

ooooooook.....

Have you seen the size of the mounts needed? Really ugly!! Also with most trials brands quality being questionable I doubt they'd be perfectly flat and it's another thread to strip + add costs to manufacture

24" will be closer to your MTBs than a 20" would plus there's a bit more choice. 24" is an excellent choice for riding around a city, doing jump and trials, they are great combination of BMX, Trials and MTB.

To put a spanner in the works, I would highly recommend a bigger bike. The fact your'e used to riding 26" wheels means that they won't feel quite so alien as a weird seatless 20" bike with a massive stem that makes it feel like it pivots in the middle. I'd also recommend starting on a "more conventional" bike without as extreme geometry as pure comp bikes. This means you'll actually have to put the work in (rather than letting the bike do the work) which will teach you better skills and overall bike handling (which would cross over better to the MTBs). I know this may not go down well with some of the newer riders but I really believe getting straight onto a high bb, long, seatless bike will hinder rather than help in the start. The downside is that bigger bikes tend to cost a little more, if you could pick up an Inspired Element 26" (or even Hex!) that would be ideal, but you may struggle to buy new. Confidence is tricky, everyone feels shaky after a fall (I've had my share, coming back after breaking my foot took the best part of a year and I'm in my 4th month of recovery after breaking my collarbone so my confidence is a little knocked right now too). The less you stiffen up the better, so try and stay relaxed, stay within your limits for a bit but occasionally try something scary to get your brain used to staying relaxed.

TartyBikes Open Trial - Shipley Glen, 14th September

I'm curious to try this, I think it's a definite improvement. I can imagine riding my arcade through some of the lower classed gates but trying to do it fast would be pretty fun! Hopefully I've no demos that weekend! I remember a comp held at Porthcawl and strato-dabs were not allowed, but people just did a small sideop to dab instead which technically is kinda trying the move, but it still sucked. Your rules should get rid of them completely which would rock! I wonder if the more competitive comp guys will like it? -
that was really good You've got a great style and eye for lines!
-
seems all the top riders styles are going downhill Benito doesn't seem as springy/flowy as he used to be which is a shame.
-
he was using a 90x35, a Hope 70x25 is good too, the lower angle increases the reach slightly, but it's still a little shorter than a 90x35.
-
I find the slacker head angle on the fourplays means that a short stem (70x35) makes it a bit chopper-like. I'd go with 90x35 to keep the weight over the front for better front wheel tricks, it still feels plenty good for hops and stuff if you have your bars in line with the head tube.

Bar angle :wink2: But for cereal good stuff, looks like a sweet place to get away from the weather.
