  1. the lack of any concave on modern mtb pedals concerns me.
  2. I'm not coming, you guys don't have to worry about the rules, it doesn't really count if you don't do twists.
  3. goofy is just doing things the "wrong way". Like standing on a snowboard right foot forward rather than left or spinning towards your good foot as your preferred way rather than towards your bad foot like most people (especially in BMX). Not to be confused with doing things "opposite" which is when you spin the "correct" way normally, but change it up by spinning the opposite way to make it harder. Trials tends to make people spin goofy, it did with me. The whole sidehopping to the bad foot side makes you tuck on the other side of the bike which naturally makes you want to twist the bike that way in hops....same with pedal kicks, it's a hell of a lot easier to pedal kick (in gaps or spins) towards your good foot side. I spent about a year re-learning to tuck to the other side of the bike and spin the other way as I think it looks better and helps with 360s and manual 180s and a whole lot more. The only thing is that it makes 360 pedal kick drops a lot harder (Like Vasha does) and I really wish I could do those.
  4. yeah that would be cool Ross, nice one
  5. saw this on FB and I was blown away with the size of stuff and the east of how you did them...impressed!
  6. sweet vid guys Where in town was this filmed? I didn't recognise any of it. I also put the gloves in my back pocket, it's just somewhere to put them if you don't have a bag.
  7. seems that goofy is an advantage in grinds then? Other than grinds I can't see goofy being an advantage really, doing whips in spins, or turndowns etc would be pretty hard if you were goof
  8. non goofy riding looks so so so much better though, especially in trials when people pedal into spins. How does goofy riding offer more lines? I'd have said it offers fewer. My favourite bmxers are all ones that don't do many tricks but just find unique lines and style the f**k out of them. I'd say style is 65% and tricks 35%. Some tricks just look so crap whereas a simple table or just tucked hop will always look good.
  9. In the BMX world people give each other loads of stick for doing stuff goofy, at lot of stuff is waaaay easier to do with a bitch crank and stuff so it's cool when people do stuff the harder IE better way. The only thing with using the left foot is it can only be done with brakes, you are stuffed if you ever want to do them brakeless or on a quarter.....using the other foot is future proofing your riding
  10. Hey, I'm all for Danny's riding, it's unreal! But just because he does stuff a certain way doesn't mean it's the best/correct way to do it
  11. Danny is a little to blame for people doing the things the way they do too, because Danny grew up on an island and didn't really know about how stuff was done he taught himself. this has made his style unique but not necessarily correct. This has had the side effect of everyone copying they way he does stuff (like using the wrong foot to footjam whip and stuff) Danny also spins a bit goofy at times but I think he's pretty much capable of spinning any direction he chooses.
  12. Here's an example......it's like in BMX, UK are the street riders all about the style and location et the expense of being a bit nibbly at times ......the French are like the Park riders, a little too focused on the tricks but can do some pretty ridiculous stuff but often land flat rather than in the transition. away I'm right footed and spin to the left.
  13. I've seen on FB that the French are thinking the English are being harsh and I'd have to agree. I think a bit of constructive criticism is cool but keep the abuse down. Personally my point of view on the French is that they love riding (probably more than I do) and obviously put in tonnes of practice on tricks and stuff but they seem to lack a bit of quality control. To me riding is about HOW it's done rather than WHAT is done. I see so many riders concentrate on tricks rather than flow or style. It's almost like some riders see another rider do a 360 then that is the goal. They will eventually do a 360 but maybe with a pedal kick, or spin the wrong way or land in a back pivot.......the end result is a 360 and the rider will be happy but they've missed out on the whole point of doing it in the first place. There's loads of people who spin the wrong way, sort it out! I used to spin goofy but it meant I couldn't bunnyhop properly (which is why a lot of people bitch crank out of manual 180s or just in spins in general) I re-learnt to spin the other way...it doesn't take too long. A lot of riders don't seem to get the idea of flow either and will do a line but stop and hop....hopping is correcting mistakes..the fewer hops you do the better the riding is and the faster things are done which looks better. I don't want to hurt anyone's feeling if I ever criticise their riding, I just want to help people improve so I can enjoy their videos more.
  14. seems to be back to his bouncy self, I preferred him on the front disc as the riding had a little more flow but he sure can ride that bmx!
  15. Ali C

    4 bolt cranks

pretty much any Shimano crank will do the job, I've used Deores, XT and Saints with no issues
  16. bored? yes, childish? yes, regrets, no
  17. are you not? Hmmm, still it would clash with demos, maybe it's something to do when the body can't hop any more.
  18. got an email from the owner of a fairly well known bike company asking me to be on their enduro team. I couldn't accept (I'm rubbish at riding up hill) but they seem keen on sorting me out a bike anyway! Pretty happy!
