I might be able to help you with some Spank Subrosa rims, I've a bunch of new rims delivered and I don't need the old ones. I'll make a sale thread about them (and other stuff) tomorrow perhaps.

didn't get to sleep till 6am due to flatmates going out and then bringing some skanks back and stomping about the place like a heard of wildebeests

Saw Dead Meadow play live the other night, they were incredible and played all my favourite tracks, I was so close to the lead guy I could almost touch his guitar I'd been waiting over a year to see them so I'm pretty stoked right now. I bought a t shirt off them too which I'm pleased with

he lands everything so perfectly!

I'm 31 now and I'm probably riding less than I used to but I think I'm still improving, I went out yesterday and managed to go to rear on a wall first time when I remember last year spending over an hour trying to get it. I am eating a lot healthier than I used to and I do more climbing and general stretchy type exercises which I think helps a lot. I definitely think you need to look after your body more but there's no reason why suddenly becoming 30+ should be a reason to slow down, it's all in the mind. You see people 70+ who do amazing things, 30 isn't old!

I'm renting at £280pm all bills included, bit of a party flat sharing with 6 other guys....I pretty much live in my bedroom. Quite looking forward to my own place with the gf at some point.

The thing is, just because people do (roughly) the same sport doesn't mean that everyones automatically going to get on, there's still going to be clashes of personality. I don't dislike TGS type riding, I think it can be pretty amazing. People like Matt Arkright are super good at TGS and I get on with him really well mainly because he's just a really nice guy. I've only briefly met Tunnicliffe but he seemed nice too. The thing I don't like is when riders are inconsiderate to others (the public) which is something I've seen a few times.....mainly from northern riders. I was riding my home town once and one rider was attempting to sidehop a wall and kept on sliding to dropout, it was damaging the wall (not keen on that) and then an old man came over and politely asked him to stop as he was right next to the mans car. The rider told him to "f**k off" and then proceeded to stand over his bike, spin the wheel and honk his brake loudly for a while. I was embarrassed to be associated with that rider. So yeah, don't think there's a hatred of types of riding from my behalf, I'm cool with watching any type of trials.

I like Jeremy, he says what most people think but are often too scared to say as the nation is too politically correct. He makes Top Gear, I don't care for cars at all really but I enjoy the show. I really like the cheap car challenges

You've got some really deep set issues with me and anyone who rides with a seat don't you? You wouldn't make back handed comments on anything you post if you didn't. Just say what's on your mind and get it done with.
-
Did that actually make you angry? I put a smiley face to try and show it was just light hearted, I wear skinny jeans and I get plenty of comments about it (I even used to poke a little fun at people in the past for it) and it's no big deal. The shorts worn in that video just reminded me of that advert and I thought it was a little funny (you'll probably see me wearing them in the future haha). I've not posted what I've wanted for aaaages now to keep the peace, lets both hold our opinions and let people get on with stuff.

Yeah movements not for for everyone but I think some points he makes are good ones and everyone can benefit from it. He says that when you specialise in one activity you sacrifice your body to do so, that's very true! I'm not doing movement stuff to help my riding, I'm doing it to save me from it.

I really like Ido Portal's take on strength. What are people training for? What's the end goal to lifting weights? Most people will say it's either to be strong, have a good looking body or to be healthy. The thing with weights is that they can (and do) build strength but at what cost? Most people who use machines or just do reps might have strong muscles for that one movement but they won't transfer over to other uses (google videos of body builders vs strength trainig for a vague example). Big muscles doesn't mean big strength. I agree with Ido that having a good looking body as a main goal is not the way to go either.....what's the point of a body that looks good if it doesn't work well "it's like having a nose that can't breath". People often have complications with their bodies as a result of weight training, it's common to lack any flexibility which then limits how useful your body is again. I'm not saying don't do weights, they can be useful but just consider the bigger picture. Modern humans have de-evolved and lost a lot of the natural flexibility and movements we'd have had when we didn't have to sit at desks, drive everywhere. Getting back to the more natural state our bodies are capable of should be the main goal, you'll get the great body most people are after as part of it but you'll have the health benefits and feel good factor knowing you can control your body and make it do amazing things. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0Wr7HsylE0

went to the gym for the first time in ages today with the GF, did some deadlifts and they actually felt good for the first time ever (plus I wore my socks with the built in shin pads as I ended up bleeding last time I tried them). Did 120kg x 4 which I'm happy with (I weigh 70kg). Rather than go to the gym I've been doing a fair bit of "movement" stuff. Mainly body weight exercises combined with flexibility....I'd recommend it

Pretty much the exact reaction I expected

I actually feel really strongly that a minimum weight limit would do way more good than bad. They have it in Road racing (and XC?) to keep things under control. All they need to do at the start when you get your number is weigh the bike....pretty easy thing to do. They used to check all your gears were working, you had bar ends, shoes with ankle guards, cables had the ends neatly capped back when I did the worlds. That was a much bigger challenge yet it worked. If there's no limit bikes keep getting lighter, keep getting more expensive, the sponsored and rich riders have a clear advantage, people compromise strength of parts and reliability goes down, I wouldn't be surprised if eventually a bike will break in a comp resulting in the serious injury of a rider. A minimum weight limit is my idea of keeping trials from getting more specialised, not making it more.

the way I see it, compentition trials will always be the geeky spotty My Little Pony loving little brother of Mountainbiking. He'll try and tag along with the bigger brother and his friends but they'd much rather ditch him and go have fun and show off to the girls. Trying to get such an unwanted, weird looking, ugly little runt of a kid popularity is pretty much impossible in real life and I think the same goes for comp trials. I'm not saying some girls won't take pity on him and some might invite him into their group, but they'll never really want to physically touch him. He might also have friends who are also into My Little Pony and stuff, but he'll never be one of the cool kids. I personally think both Kenny and Giaco make good points, but I've been thinking recently how much I dislike modern UCI comps and sections, it seems it's all about who can sidehop the highest or who's bike is best on the rear wheel. I also disagree with Giaco that trials is comps. That's a very blinkered way of looking at it. I'd like to see more BIKE in Biketrials, I want sections with mud, rocks, kickers, ramps, sprints, roll-downs, tech etc. I don't want a carpark with random scattered rocks or logs where all everyone does is go from the floor, up and over a rock and back to the floor and repeat. Sections need to be clearer and more tech where the rider doesn't touch the floor till the end gate. I think that rather than sacrificing sections (and the progression of riding) to get more spectators, get the bikes back out of the cities and into the woods and hillsides, screw the media....if you want money from trials then comp ridings a bad choice and most people knew this when they started. If you want money, take up a more popular sport and fight it out with the hundreds of other people who are probably miles better than you. I want the World Champion trials rider to be the best f**king BIKE rider on the planet! Not just the best weird bike hopper. Trials should test ALL riding abilities and bikes should be compromised to suite anything thrown at them. This will make the riding more flowing, better to watch and everyone would benefit from being miles better at riding. The bikes would look more normal too and perhaps more people would be interested in it? I also think bikes should have a weight limit. 8.5kg for stocks and 8kg for mods. Everyone would be on a level playing field, bikes would be safer and more reliable (no more drilling the f**k out of stuff) and it means a new rider could have a bike pretty much as good as a pro rider without spending hundreds on carbon forks and stuff. I think competition trials has been going downhill for a few years now, it's just SO specialised now it's shot itself in the foot. I think it NEEDS a radical makeover. It needs a complete overhaul and resetting from (nearly) the start.

that's pretty sweet, not sure on the stem though, look how far ahead of the axle it puts the bars, must be the most twitchy riding thing ever!! I think a frame like that with a BMX bars and stem would be sweet, just make the top tube longer to compensate for the shorter reach of the stem.
-
Those frames are a bit too low for my liking, I prefer the looks of slightly bigger triangles (stronger too). if I ever went to a mod I'd get something close to how this monty looks, just with more modern geometry, parts and a disc mount.....again I can't see many people agreeing haha
-
it's got a seat, clearly a bmx :wink2: I'm gonna get hate for this but I do have a sweet spot for these, no curves, just functional and stiff.

looking good Chimp! My girlfriends mum just bought me some charcoal and pastels, I've never tried them before so I thought I'd try drawing her dawg. I'm reasonably happy with it.

Yeah currently riding MT7s, pretty surprised by them too. I tried pretty much every brake out there and non compared with the M810 Saint, but I'd go as far to say that these are slightly more powerful and with a lighter to pull and comfier lever. The brake as a whole is lighter too and the calliper tabs are pretty beefy too so shouldn't snap. I'd say the only down side is the pads sit quite close to the rotor (due to the high leverage ratio) so it's a bit harder to get them running without rubbing like a saint. Some people might not like the softer lever feel (compared to a saint) but I'm not really bothered by that.
