-
stupid thing doesnt even have my first OR second name :shifty: at least I aint still called ziggy like my brother named me :D
-
I'll tell you what, I couldnt even ride like that after 4 years of riding let alone 2. I think you should ride stock again, mod is good an'all but I didnt find it very satisfying. Stock is just way more fun to ride.
-
I ride maybe twice a week, usually on my own but sometimes I'll ride with my two riding friends if they are up for it
-
they are bad, stay clear
-
yeah lets make a room!!

what is ping? I have wanted to know for ages ps, I am trials-ali-C
-
waaay, I wanna go, it sounds ace. Now I just need to persuade Iolo to go :(
-
I wanna go......is the trials event uci? I hope it is
-
wooooooo! What an ace event! I still havnt recovered from it yet, I dont have any energy :ermm: That was such an ace event, the sections were ace even if the mods got the rocks and we got whats left (as is always the case) but as long as theres sections to ride I am happy. On friday I got to see vince, cesar canas and dani comas all ride on local rocks, they were a bit good! On the way to the event on sat we almost crashed into ot pi's car, but it was all good. I was one of the first riders off on sunday which meant I got the bad weather, but that didnt affect me too much. My first lap was just crap, fell off on loads of things, my 2nd lap was better, but still got two to many 5s, I blame my arm pump :(" Ended up 10th, I would have liked better, but whatcha gonna do? I was beaten fair and square. I tried to go and watch some other riders, but I never found who I was looking for. I met Martyn as I was waiting for a section, he was as sorted as ever. Shame I filled in my entry forms wrong, otherwise I would be riding most of the rounds this year.
-
yeah he does, but he only does it backhoping down the road (which is piss easy). I do them mid 6-7ft gaps :) I wanna get a full rotation gap, but I can only do that from small gaps
-
I try and ride in all weather, but I dont see the point in getting soaked, as long as the ground is wet, then thats good enough practise.
-
right foot forward here, I sometimes try things left footed, I can do basic things but nothing anywhere near like normal. My party trick is to swap feet mid gap, so I take off right footed and land left.....shame no one tends to notice :)

I have had a go on all those frames, most of my friends have had them so I have had a fair few goes........... I thought they all ride like complete tripe apart from the Monty, which was really REALLY nice. All the others just felt wrong. The monty just felt soooo good, I stole joe oakly's spare bike and I almost gapped nearly 9ft static straight away, the thing just flies! Also sidehops are just soo easy on it. It feels like it requires no effort to put it where you want. I also really approve of having a rear disk on a mod.

saying "swimwear" instead of somwhere is popular on planet Ali.

because your chain is less likley to snap with bigger cogs, so its a peace of mind thing.
-
I liked mine too, but it just wasnt for me

parkour (or free running) is mint for this. Try and jump from two feet to two feet up high things, across things, over things, I think it helps to do a small bounce before you take off though. That really gets the muscles working, but be sure to strech before and after to prevent injury.
-
I had one for roughly a year, it was only slightly worn (on the teeth and bash) As long as you get a decent chain, breakage wount be much of an issue, but if your gonna be doing big gap drops and dangerouse stuff, I would feel safer with a bigger combo. going to bash is harder too

you will already know about what I think Chris but......... High bbs are a personal thing, dont go thinking that just because its the in thing that its what you need. I got a hi fi as most people said high bbs helped with comps and riding in general. I found my hi fi actually hindered my riding, espesially on natural. I would just loose my balence and fall off  My taps just dissapeared, couldnt even do bar hight when the week before I was doing nearly 50" on my pure. Phil Williams didnt like his either. Its good that you can try his vinco, you might like hi bbs, but you might not.

cranks look interesting, cant wait to see the finnished product, although I wont be needing any as I have just got some uci tensiles. Talking of hitting your ankle, I am glad my shoes have decent ankle protection, I wouldnt have skin left otherwise.

I think I had 25 lessons. I had never sat in the driving seat before let alone drive and I didnt drive between lessons. I passed in feb first time with 3 minors
-
ooh err, I hope the sections aint too hard :D Might pop up and see them tomorrow. 4oo shirts with a spelling mistake :S how annoying! But you never know, they may turn into a rare collectable :S What was the mistake?

I find short trials bikes and mods MUCH easier to bunnyhop than bmxs. Back in my mod days my record was 45" over a bar and 40" for stock (cant bunnyhop for shit on my long bike) On my bmx I could barley do wheel hight, the shortness, weight and lack of decent brakes seemed to hinder me. However, most bmxers seem pretty good at bunnyhops, I aint too suprised with this one even if it does have a 180 thrown in.

when I was new to the sport I didnt go out to learn trackstands (although it was fun to have timed comps with friends  ) but they came of their own acord, so I can see JT's point. I cant see the harm in learning them seperatley. It just means you will have more confidence when you do come to bigger moves. The amount of people I see who can do big sidehops or drops yet are as sketchy as fook with trackstands or on the back wheel  I trackstand all the time, mostly with just the front brake on or if I am facing up a slope, no brakes. It just saves soo much effort. Another good thing to learn (especially for uci) is to lock the wheel in a ledge or groove in a rock. It means you can back off the brakes and have a rest even in tricky situations instead of getting a dap by resting a pedal or bash on somthing.
