  1. normal thread is the left side
  2. Thanks for all the comments guys! I'm a little surprised how well it's gone down as I though the riding was a little stiff compared with previous videos, I wasn't sure whether the song would go down well either but people seem keen
  3. I really enjoyed Tartydays! Thanks so much to Adam and the guys at the shop for all their hard work, to Inspired for supporting the event and getting rad trophies made and to the folks from Barrow Farm for all their hard work and anyone else I missed (sorry). I loved meeting everyone and I'm so glad to see so many younger riders getting involved (especially all those taking the streetier approach), the comps were great and I'm stoked to have won the Trialodrome (awesome concept) though I'm sure if Euan didn't mess up and if Prattley was there for the final the results would be a bit different. I can't wait to see photos and footage from the event
  4. I'll try and be back soon!

    Blue

I really like that! I still think the massive bashes ruin the looks on steel frames but it's not the end of the world. I really like how the blue and green work together too
  6. forks are blatantly steel too
  7. bikes all prepped, gonna try for a good nights sleep before my 7 hour drive tomorrow.
  8. Pretty sure Giant frame numbers all start with a G but I am not 100% on that
  9. some would argue it's even a trials bike at all
  10. 1996 (though the pictures of a 95) GT Avalanche, identical spec to that, this is before even V brakes were around. Did a years worth of comps on that bike with no trials modifications to it. Still got the frame.
  11. That's just an XC frame, might not even be a Giant but just a steel frame stickered up to look like one (hence no model name/number). If it is a Giant it's a fairly budget one. Not the best for trials but it'l do for learning on.
  12. I've got my Frisbee too
  13. The cassette is boosted to 42T I believe. I hope she does too, if she still finds bikes to terrifying I'll steal it back off her and replace the frame and use it myself
  14. just finished Jane's bike, I'm happy with how it's turned out. The front ends a bit high but I think she'd prefer that, can always cut it down if needed. I'm happy with the Skull decals on the seatstays too, she's a fan of all things skull related.
  15. if they're good, then people don't want to sell them.
  16. I agree with Flip, different tools for different jobs (even if they are only slightly different). I swap between braked and brakeless bikes.
  17. That's so nice! I really like it with white forks, I say keep them as they are
  18. I actually tried the threaded bar method, ended up with some pretty interesting bearing angles! Not good I raged, but nothing got thrown or broken which is good
  19. He's Buedoggie1 on pinkbike. I don't think he's purposely done a shit job, I genuinely believe his mother in law died and then he did bit of a rushed job. He seemed really enthusiastic when I met him and showed me other stuff he's sprayed (including a santacruz) which seemed great. I'm not mad at him, but I'm definitely gonna have to put some protective tape on it.
  20. yeah I'm not getting that same shop to do it, I don't really wanna spend £30 on it either, maybe if I had an actual work area it wouldn't be so bad but I do all my bike maintenance in my bedroom which isn't huge, I don't even have a desk big enough to rest frame parts on to hammer against
  21. two issues, I neither have a vice nor a socket set! If Willy was open I can just use his services or he'll let me use his tools and I can see his shop from my kitchen window, if he wasn't on holiday I'd have had this sorted last friday
  22. footjam whips are bad enough, but knee jams are pretty much my very most hated trick I've ever seen done. I really really dislike them. Everything else John seems to do is cool though, his bars and whips are spot on!
  23. Johns riding is really cool, nicest Console I've seen too......I'm trying REALLY hard to ignore that knee jam whip though.
  24. having an annoying time with building an XC bike. Took months until the right frame turned up on ebay, then it took weeks for them to send it. I wanted to give it a good paint job so I spent a while searching and eventually found a guy on Pinkbike locally who was a professional powder coater by trade who offered a full acid dip, masking and two colours with a lacquer used by Mercedes which is meant to be incredibly tough, he said he'd send me pictures on the process and it would take a few days......two weeks later he still hadn't done it or sent any pics so I send him a message and he said his wifes mum had died so my frame priority wasn't that great....fair enough I thought. He then get back to me a few days later saying it was done so I went and collected it, it looks good but as I've had in a few days now I've noticed the paint quality isn't that great, I'm pretty sure he's not lacquered it at all and it's chipped from just being stored, plus it doesn't look like it's been acid dipped at all, I'm pretty sure I can see the original white paint under on the chipped bits (could be the base colour though?) he also didn't mask off the headset, bb and disc tabs which is annoying. I got the frame back on Thursday and I was hoping I'd use my local shop to have the bearings put back in but he's on holiday, I tried another shop across town but they said they couldn't fit me in till friday, That's really annoyed me too as it's a five min job. When I worked in shops I'd take 5-10 mins of what I was doing to help someone out, f**k waiting 5 days for them to do a five min job. I'm so frustrated, I wanted this bike built months ago but everything is taking three times longer than it should, I just want it done!
