I cut my knee when I fell off, a hair must of got trapped under the skin and couldnt get out. I had a small lump on my knee whish I though was maybe a bit of dirt had gone in and caused an infection. I squeezed it and about a 3cm long hair came out, it had been coiled up inside. so it can and does happen. (was pretty cool when it came out though :P )

I have just ordered a nice range of maxxis tyres............I know what I likes and I likes what I know. meh, I know your all crying out to know which ones I have gone for, and why. 1) maxxis hansventure, slowreezay/ supertacky........simular tread to try-alls, lots of nice sharp edges to grip, lots of actual rubber so should last.....got it mainly as a loose soil/ muddy conditions comp tyre. 2)maxxis minion front 2.5 slow reezay....... nice sharp edged tread, they are blocks rather than ramps, so should grip both forwards and backwards equally. Proven puncture ressistance too. got as an allround tyre. 3) maxxis lopes Bling bling supertacky...... Again nice block tread so good grip forwards and backwards. low profile, so will be mint on rocks.......got as a dry weather comp tyre. 4) maxxis minion front 2.35 single ply slow reazay.......as rear minion, but lighter for the front. If above tyre cant be got then I will get below tyre 5) Maxxis high roller 2.35 slowreezay singleply........would rather have the front minion, but they are hard to get hold of, so this is my 2nd choice as its ramped in one direction and will only have REALLY good grip in one direction.

I HATE electric shavers, they always miss spots and make you look like you have been attacked with some wax. wet shaves is where its at!!

I presume he has a 25.4mm clamp if he is after azonics. I have the 28" onza bars and they are indeed good, but I find them a little too stiff........I am wanting to replace them with some azonics or eastons and a different stem.
-
depends wether you want high bars or low.........if your not sure go for a happy medium like 1.5", you can always put spacers under if its too low, or remove some if its too high.

I agree with chris, high bbs and short chainstays really suck. get somthing nice, like an ashton, control or limey

I bought a bmx, but I didnt get on with riding it at all....I sold it a few months later. I much prefer to ride bmxy style with bigger wheels, just feels as if it fits me more, easier to bunnyhop, spin, manual.......... everything really. I am pretty much nearly finnished with my 24", other than frame and rear hub. Wont be giving up my proper trials bike though, theres nothing like the feeling you get after getting over some really tough natural.

except DONT use any DOT fluid in maggie disks, go and get some maggie royal blood.
-
I recken so.....kinda like having your tyres at a lower pressiur, but not quite.
-
shame the avids are dot fluid, otherwise I would have put one on my marta (although the levers are £100 each!!!) would be cool with an avid lever on a rear hayes 160mm mag caliper, that would be amazing.
-
I havnt been too impressed with the juicys that have come on bikes in for repairs in my shop......seem to be on the same par as shimano disks, looads of modulation but no bite...................amazing lever feel though, really comfy
-
I aint gonna reccomend any actual components, but I will say that after a few years of using stiffer 31.8mm clamp, I am wanting to go smaller, I miss the extra flex it gives, makes the bike rider a bit livlier I recken. just somthing you might wanna consider?

ok, I have a 180 magura marta caliper (160 virsions are easier to get at cheaper prices though) and a shimano xt lever. I got my caliper from the shop I work at trade price for £35........there are often 160mm martas on ebay for about £40 onwards for a full disk. I then got a shimano xt lever off ebay for £9 I am using standard maggie hosing and a mix of maggie and shimano fittings, they woulod cost about £10 at most. You can pick up rotors on ebay for about £20 so that totals at £74 for a mint brake!! It just takes a little patience to wait for the parts to come up. oh, and to whoever said magura disks are shit..... I presume you used the older virsions? they did have a habbit of leaking and pumping up. The newer maggies are MUCH better, very powerful. Another key point to maggies that is often over looked is that the hose goes directly in the top of the caliper, making it very hard to hit and damage.....unlike hopes and avids which have a 90degree connection on the side of the caliper. I hit my hope on on my 2nd ride, and it undid the bolt, causing fluid to go all over my disk and pads!!

good job I looked :) Shimpley glen is better for me as its dead simple to get a train there, not so at addingham. Gonna be fun riding on the frost :- Cya there

my views are that there are no advantages of a long mod. I aint short and I loved the short wheelbase monty. A short mod is good for bunnyhops, twisty stuff, tech stuff, balencing on small rocks etc etc Long mods are harder to to bunnyhop, twist, on tech stuff and cant fit on as small rocks, no point tapping a mod either when a short mod can easily be bunnyhoped or backwheeled up. If they are too small, then get a stock.
