best rider by far!

22-16 is a little light so shorter cranks makes it have a bit more grunt plus there's the bonus of them being lighter and stronger.
-
Are BMXers in skateparks doing tricks? Skateparks are designed especially for that stuff.
-
I think it was more the limitations of the Hope cranks rather than designing to fit only the aluminium bikes
-
I'd love to run them so I can run the Inspired bash for them, they look so neat! it's a shame they don't quite work, I just wish Shimano had removable spiders!
-
it's been fine, no issues at all.

I can see where you are coming from but unfortunately there's very few ways to earn a living from trials. Demos can be great for riders, you get to travel and ride bikes (I just went to South Africa purely because of shows) and get paid for it. from riding with Danny, the shows aren't a million miles off what he'd be doing in his normal street rides so I think they are a good representative of trials. Sure it's not comp trials but most of the public find that hard to understand with the bikes not having seats and making horrible noises all the time. From speaking to fans and people at shows I know of quite a few riders who have started riding just from seeing a show.....I think that can only be a good thing.

lighter and you can get tighter spokes with alloy nipples. I've not broken one in 6 years.

That rotor is still going strong, Magura sent us some of these new ones so I thought I'd try them out. I can't feel any flex personally. The putty is going strong I had alloy chainring bolts but I snapped two and totalled my chainring, so they're steel now......could be tempted by Ti though!

I did have some V6 pdals on, I wore down the pins (which I expected), I plan on drilling and screwing in some metal pins but I'll save that for a dark rainy day The stem is very similar, I just like how I can use fewer spacers with it.

very nice!

I can't even begin to do them on a flyout! I find from back wheel easiest

I've got a general fear of taking my hands off the bars that I find really hard to get over. I went riding with a box buddy recently and he explained how to pinch the cranks with your ankles instead of the seat and that did help but it feels really awkward. I managed to do one on his bike but I still feel a long way off on mine. I think the main thing for me is that's I don't really find them a fun thing to do and I can't imagine ever getting confident enough with them to blast one out mid line so I'm fairly happy to leave them alone

My cat got to 22 so you may have a good few years left yet

just thought I'd defend cats a little and give a reason why they rock. Firstly I'll tell you why dogs suck: They shit on the floor for people to step in and ride through. They have hair rather than fur, it's not as soft or nice. Their hair is greasy, I hate stroking dogs as it feels like I've wiped my hands on a smelly oily rag, I have to wash my hands if I touch a dog. They'll love anyone with food no matter if that person is a dick or not. They need walks because they are too daft to take care of themselves. They fart and their breath stinks. Cats are awesome because: They are super soft to touch and wash regularly so are not greasy. They bury their shit out of the way. They can go outside and have fun on their own. They are like people and if you're nice to them then they'll be nice back and they'll be super loyal and affectionate. They purr. They're cuter. I don't dislike dogs (though there are some breeds out there I have no idea why anyone would ever want to own (although I think I'd happily have a Pug or Boston Terrier)) but cats are just more sophisticated, one way I can put it is that dogs are Americans and cats are British.

shortest five and a half mins ever, I didn't want that to end

this is excellent!

That's cool Dave, I'm interested in getting a 3D printer at some stage once I can actually get the grasp of 3D design (using Solidworks). I look forward to see what you come up with

Are we reading the same comments or have some been deleted? Fair play for some of those comp lines, I know from experience that they are a nerve racking place to be and then having sections that push you makes it even worse, you kept your cool and did well, keep it up!

yeah, can't see it being an issue. If pressure was a problem then there's hundreds of standard suitcase items that would be blowing up or squeezed over our stuff. ~40psi aint gonna do sheet
-
A few people (myself included) tried that with oldschool closed Hope levers, there is more power but the pads move such a tiny amount that the pads always rub and the lever is so spongy it pulls back to the bar.
-
bad idea, the mechanical ratio is different with a bigger piston at the lever (disk brakes usuallly use ~9mm at the lever apposed to 14mm on rim brakes). This means you'll lose a lot of power and the lever will feel rock solid. Echo just about get away with it (not that I'd ever consider their brakes powerful enough) as the main lever pivot is closer to the piston which claws back some of the mechanical ratio.
