  1. ok, its the british champs, your riding elite, its the last round and your winning by one point, ben slinger has just got up the sidehop and has finnished the comp, if you get up the wall clean you have wone the champs. Thats what I often think and I find it helps. Also pretend your foot is glued to the pedal with REALLY strong glue, you cant take it off. MIND OVER MATTER
  2. heh heh, I go through rotors fairly quick! Never riding street though, its always from riding natural and being in an awkward spot and leaning on it when trying to regain balance.
  3. sheff I think, your gonna regret meeting me again boy!! good news about the gears though its only a 5 min job to pop them on my bike.
  4. now its a biu comp, will we need 6 working gears?
  5. GT Avalanch (rode for a year, hanging on my wall, in good condition) Pashley (cracked the chainstays) merlin (sold to a friend) monty 221 (cracked, swapped for a bmx with random chav) brisa b26 (cracked) brisa b26d (replacment frame, got stolen, got found, sold on) monty 221 (sold) monty 231 (sold to iolo, still used as bmx though it is cracked) monty urban (sold) echo pure (sold, still being ridden?) global ti proto (cracked) global ti proto mk2 (gave back to Global to be sold to Danny Mac) echo control short (sold to fat git) echo control long (sold) echo hifi (sold to friend, still being ridden) I am sure I had anotherone to fill this gap, but I cant remember it) Ashton (current) I also had an orange patriot dh bike (cracked, got replaced then got stolen) Specialised Big Hit (replacment, sold) Rocket trials (street bike, cut up to be modified, still waiting to do it) bmx, no idea which (sold) WTP Primate bmx (sold) Iolo 24" street bike (current)
  6. I have already treated myself to some monty bars and a Giant carbon stem (meant to be £135!, I got mine for £29 ) getting a new disk rotor too, I go through them like I do socks

it was indeed a good vid BUT......I have the phrase "running before you can walk" in my head.
  8. I started on a GT Avalanche it made a crappy trials bike, it had an 18" frame, triple chainrings, flat 24" wide bar, cantilever brakes, 1.9" tyres. I did a year of comps on it though and came 3rd overall in novice at the tykes. It was good for xc rides too. after that I got a pashley
  9. iolo had a right hand side front disk, it was sweet.
  10. the saddle looks really out of place in my books, get a bigger one Looks REALLY nice otherwise, took me a few secs before I realised it wasnt an ashton ET (despite the title)
  11. standard forks seem to last ok, hooks put loads of rear stress on tabs, plus, if it was steel it would be easy to fix
  12. it is an option, just get some steel forks and weld the disk mount to the front of the righthand side. Can use the same caliper, disk, hub, rotor, lever everything.
  13. weather looks.......depressing take a look
  14. I am using nokon at the moment, seems good, is very stiff. But I also really like Shimano xtr 5mm gear outer (same as linear cables) they are very stiff and very smooth.
  15. yep, I am going, I also cant wait, should be a right hoot! I am riding Masters
  16. rear vee indeed, but I like the modulation of a front disk, if I were to use a front vee in wet muddy conditions I would need a grind waving goodby to any stoppies
  17. every disk I have had has been crap in the wet Would still rather have it than a maggie though. I am tempted by a front vee for summer, that could be good I recken.
  18. sketchy What is it with Russians and high bb frames? would be a lot less sketchy with some proper bikes. Dont wanna sound like a total miseryguts though, there were some nice moves.
