Not sure how interesting that would be though, theres plenty of rides going down where photos are taken, put on here with people explaining what went down. I cant think an artical would be much different and I dont think any non trials riders would be that interested. I always found one on one articals or a couple of riders in an interesting place makes the best reading. could be Damon on a boat, Danny mac in a church, Danny butler and slinger on some scenic rocks on a beach (with the tide comming in). I would think those would be more interesting to trials riders and non trials riders alike. PS, MBUK pissed me off big time with its coverage of the world champs in fort bill! According to them trials doesnt even exist!, no results, no comments and just one tiiiiiiny pic.

Does anyone who rides trials read MORE than just the trials section? Yeah, I quite like all types of riding having done dh and dirt jumping in the past. I often read every artical. What do you expect to see in the mag? Good gossip, plenty of parts reviews, photos that impress me (dirt I feel has the better pics though) articals about interesting bikes, people and places. Who do you expect to see in the mag? and WHY? Its cool having the old faces in the mag, they have done a lot for the sport and deserve what they get, BUT I also feel a lot of riders who put in as much effort and dedication into their riding (not just trials btw) dont get any coverage. Its almost like they are being ignored and it does get frustrating.

haha, iolo never got any mention when he went on a brakless stint on more than one bike, doing streety stuff. I look forward to seeing what akkers comes out with though (colours gash!)

higher front ends make the bike easier to bunnyhop and manual plus with a 24" wheel being smaller you need a higher stem/stackers to bring the bars back up to a ridable position.

oh yes! Awesome bike, looks so nice dave!

yep, was my number from a comp, I always forget to take them off. Cheers for the comments guys!

Weight Training... Thread Number 2...
Ali C replied to downhill_rob2@hotmail.com's topic in Chit Chat
I have one, its pretty cool, can put it up/take it down in seconds and it can take a lot of weight. It only fits one door in my house though (all the others were too deep) fortunatly the only door it fits is my bedroom door where I do my weights anyway. -
wont be there, ankles still too bad to ride

Weight Training... Thread Number 2...

got my weights the other week 140 kg worth! I weigh 10.5 stone last I checked and am 5ft 10 Bench presses I do about 55kg 5 reps and 5 sets (last push is dam hard! also incline the bench so my head is lower and do more sets) squats I do 75kg although I only do it till my knees are parralel, I dont get how people can go down and sit on their heels, I can barly do that with my own body weight and I fall over anyway. Bicep curls, 35kg 5 reps 2 sets if I am lucky Calf raises, 50 reps x 3 sets with 10kg on my back (BUUURNS!) Dumbbel curls, 15kg 15 reps 3 sets pull ups, not many, 10 reps 3 times or so dead lift, 110kg (with belt on, haaaard!) arm dips with feet on another bench, 20 reps 3 sets I do some other moves but I dont know the names. Seems to be helping, I am sure my arms and legs look bigger. -
cheers, I just feel that the ridings pretty harsh, I would like to do the moves again but smoother. that 360 endo is sketchy too lol, need to film a 540 next time

tis a czar, not long justices in the country for me to ride I never put this vid on here as I dont think the riding and camera angles were worth using, but I am pleasantly suprised by the feedback, thanks!

started with 4 riders here, then 3 stopped. Gained another 2 riders and then 4 or 5 more, then 4 stopped and now there seem to be about 7 new riders.
-
yes I would, but only fish and chips as I dont like any other take aways

I love disks, couldnt use anything else. I would rather have a front vee than a maggie, but it depends what mounts you have really.

but now waddys got motorbikes on my brain! Which would help with trials more, a mtb or mototrials bike? a Friend might be selling his gas gas 125 for £800ish or someone else is selling a beta rev 3 2004 for £1300ish. maybe I should just get a really exspensive haircut.
-
cheers for the help. Knowing me though, I want all this nice stuff, but when it comes to the crunch I can never make myself split with my money too many options, which is really the BEST way to spend my (soon to be) money?

sorry, not a fan of konas (I dont know why, I just dont like them) but ta all the same.

bit too xc based and I can get a lot better specced bikes for the same cash on ebay or shop sales. When lee mill quarry is done I want a bike to do the dh lines and drops there but also some of the trails too, the quarry is going to be awesome for riding with ladder bridges, wallrides, jumps etc. Maybe I should just get a hardtail for cheapish and spend the rest on a motobike (always wanted one)
-
sound advice. I am REALLY tempted by a Giant, they get awesome reviews and the one I have seen is a great spec too. I wouldnt be doing too much hardcore xc, just a doddle about (though the hills round here are dam steep!) I was also tempted by a specialized enduro (last years) or an sx. I went on a xc ride with a borrowed enduro and managed the ride fine (22 miles, steep hills!) and thats got nearly 7" of rear wheel travel. My other idea was to buy the marin and try to sell it on for more, but if you say they are uncool, then that might bugger that idea up ok, new idea...scrap the dh bike and get a moto trials bike?

My house is over 200 years old with the origional windows! Beat that! Although double glazing would be nice, shame its a listed building

I am 5, 11. when you say your feet wont touch the ground do you mean its got a high bb? or frame size is measured differently meaning they come up bigger?

Back in september I won a trackstanding competition at the uci world cup in fort william (1 of 4 winners) and my prize was a limited edition painted Kona four delux worth £1375!! I got the bike a few days ago and its pretty cool although its not really the bike for me. Its XC based with 4" front and rear and pretty light. I would quite like a more DH style bike but not a full blown racing machine as I would like to do some uphills. I have seen this Marin Quake 7.3 on ebay. I emailed the seller and he said he used it for a month then broke his back on his hardtail. He doesnt think he'll be up for riding downhill again so is selling the bike. It looks is great condition and has been upgraded with a ti spring, hope motos etc, so it cost around £3500 in total. if I sold my kona for £1000 that means its only going to cost me £500. Should I do it? Marins get great reviews and the bearings are garenteed for life. The only thing thats putting me off is that maybe its a little toooo DH specific? Although I would love to enter a couple of local dh races and maybe some trips to the alps. Its either that Marin or a Giant Reign x o brand new for £1400 (last years model, in a sale) Tough choice!
