Trialtech mag platforms with a ti axle is lighter than (nearly) all caged pedals.

they are actually more puncture resistant than rubber tubes as the latex is far more elastic and can be pushed thurther before ripping. They are generaly lighter than rubber tubes too, but as has been said, they can loose air and when you do puncture one, they can be hard to fix.

most rigs used in demos are alloy to save weight when driving/carrying them around. If you just want them in one place, you could make them out of steel and that would save a lot of money. However, if they are just for your garden, why not just get pallets/logs/cable reels? They are a lot cheaper and can be great to ride!

yep, Stans brake makes the same noise! I am afraid you may just have to live with it (unless Ads can think of a solution?).

try sanding off the paint on the back of the pad. If that doesn't work, it may be a case of waiting untill the piston as made an imprint big enough to keep the pad still, its not an uncommon problem for the pads to clunk and make noises.

Any news on the UCI selection criteria yet? I hope they pic the riders with enough time to still book the flights at a reasonable price.

platform pedals are grippier, last longer and are harder to shin yourself on (because of the palolelagram shape (<please ignore my bad spelling))

quick heads-up....if you need tar, they are not good pads. Magura black pads work well with tar, and so would a mouse if you got it to fit in the backings.

nope, mineral oil wrecks the seals (fast too) and the piston is far to small, the brake will pull to the bars with even the stiffest set-up plus you will have to set the pads soo close to the rim your brake will almost always rub. I tried it years ago, its not worth it.

I don't really know the in and outs of Ryans deal (as I have been off work) but quite often riders get (or buy) a full bike. after a couple of months they sell it and use the money to buy a new one. This keeps the bike fresh and clean which looks good for the sponsors and means the riders bike is mechanically sound
