  1. Once everything is bolted to the frame, they are just as easy (maybe more) to set up as a maggie A booster is vital for stiffness, more so than the frame used I never had a vee dig into my ankles, but I have hit the noodle a couple of times The pads wear MUCH better than magies! Vee pads don't get rounded corners and wear perfectly flat. I think the reasons why people don't use vees is because they are ugly, require a bit more maintenance and people automaticly think they are shit because they have never tried them. I used a rear vee for 3 years and won a world championship round with them on, so they are far from shit.
  2. a vee is more powerful and quieter
  3. if its a mod, then double disk is great! Maguras are great on the rear, but I would NEVER have one on the front! Too noisy and you have to deflate your tyre to get the wheel out...I MUCH prefer a vee on the front.
  4. I wouldn't bother with two botom mounts unless your frame had a one piece booster and mount. If your frame isn't PERFECT, then your pads wont hit the rim square.
  5. You probably didn't see my post then. Trials has been around a good few years before MTBs ever existed.
  6. My poor bike!! Looked like a great week! I really wished I could have gone, watching this vid made me really frustrated that I can't ride!
  7. no point swapping DOT fluid for water! DOT fluid is just as thin as water, so the brake won't feel any different, but as has been said, the seals WILL die and the brake may pump up if you drag it due to the water expanding with heat. Matt24, I would never consider running a maggie with the correct fluid, I would get so much arm pump I wouldn't be able to finish a single section!
  8. you can try it, but I have seen less scratched levers refused warranty!
  9. you would need a new axle and new freehub body. Unfortunately those are just about the most expensive parts of the hub! I would be tempted to either sell that hub and get the bmx version, or look at a different frame.
  10. Mountain bikes (and indeed jump bikes) were not invented when trials was around! Many people took their bmxs or shopper bikes and challenged themselves to get over objects well before trials was a sport, but Mr Pi who worked with Montesa mototrials bikes is probably credited with producing the first trials bikes for sale. Also, if you your talking about trials in general, Moto trials has been around for YONKS! Well before bmx or any other off road cycle sports
  11. haha, yeah, I don't understand it either. Infact, I got back on the bike and made it up the rock!
  12. as is said, 20" is easier to learn on but I MUCH prefer 26", its so much more versatile, you can roll stuff that you would have to hop over on 20" and you can generally go a big bigger on 26" (plus they look much better )
  13. oh my god, thats the first time I have seen that crash, its soo funny! Surprised I didn't hurt myself! The DVD looks like its amazing quality! I can't wait to watch it!
  14. they are VERY well made and are brill hubs, but they are not my first choice for trials. When mine slipped, it would slip half a rotation! I snapped axles and hub flanges. The HD and steel freehub body version is heavy too. I much prefer having front freewheel.
  15. I think Stan Shaw is coming, I can't wait!
  16. ignore everyone else (especially tarty Adam!!!!) The BEST stuff to stick grips by a long shot is spray paint! You will have to be quick getting the grips on though, it sets within seconds and will probably require cutting of the grips to remove them.
  17. DEFFO NOT a pace!! They all had square tubing ant were not cheap! Looks like a generic frame, possibly the same that Barracuda used. Hubs look like bulbs? Cranks are FSA power pros Tyres looks like IRC El Gatos
  18. But you don't want it too loud otherwise it can interfere with driving surly? I have always found stock speakers to sound pretty good? Maybe just because that's what I have always had though.
  19. lol, someone sneaked that in!
  20. I have a very basic setup. a few pallets, some set up as a box, some as pyramids, a few metal barrels, a pornstar, a telegraph pole and a few walls. This is on my patio outside my front door, I have 2 acres of fields, but they are so steep I can use them for riding
  21. dont have a car to put speakers into When I get my new car, I am just keeping the stock speakers, don't see the point in upgrading them.
  22. does it actually need replacing? I have dented bashrings before and seen plenty more, they still do the job of protecting the ring.
  23. I have NEVER seen any frame fail because of a hole in the headtube.
  24. I get really bad foot cramp. I don't drink enough really, but I also found slighty stiffer shoes help and Skins compression pants help too.
  25. Trialtech wants products to suit all riders budgets, unfortunately you can't always custom make parts and still sell them at budget prices. The good news is that Trialtech is coming out with some AMAZING new parts and ideas for the future not seen elsewhere!
