  1. they worked alright, but once I started pushing the gaps and stuff, they didnt have the instant lock I was after.
  2. because I didn't think it was worth any more than that. I paid £740 for it two years ago and it needed new tyres, sus seals and brake pads when I sold it. Ahh well
  3. I LOVE my front vee, I have already beat my gap to front and up to front records with it despite being off the bike for the past two months. Shame its so loud though
  4. shimano LX gets my vote, thats what I am running now. Slimmer than avid brakes, lighter too and just as stiff. I have an SD7 lever, nokon cable and Joypad material (until I get my plaz pads)
  5. Wish I knew that before I sold my 98 125 txt in used but reasonable condition for £360
  6. the Trialtech is one of the stiffest boosters around! As much as some 4 bolt boosters!
  7. I only realised this ride was on last week, that was a bit short notice to travel for 5 hours, I hope everyone had a good time though.
  8. try and find the washer and see if it makes any difference. did you actually take the brake off? If so then check that the spring pin went back in the same hole.
  9. Giro are the most comfy I have used, but the strap system always breaks on them leaving them a bit wobbly. The fox looks good, but I have never worn one. Abus do a really nice urban helmet (same as Iolo uses) and Lazer do an urban helmet too (that I have just ordered) however the looks are either love or hate, I wanna see it in the flesh before I commit to it.
  10. its unlikely to be the bolt biding but you know the bolt that holds the arm on? Sometimes if you use the wrong bolt there it can clamp the brake solid rather than let it pivot. Did the brake work before? Have you changed anything on it? how old is the brake/cable? One last thing I would check is that the little pin that sits in a hole next to the brake post hasn't snapped, that can lead to a brake not returning
  11. check: pads not hitting the tyre Brake arm isn't binding with mounting bolt cable isn't kinked cable isn't frayed cable routing is smooth brake isn't rusting onto pivot post There may be more checks, but its going to be at least one of the above I think

they would work to an extent, but it would be pretty wank! Give them a ground rim any day.
  13. I am willing to bet that you would ride better after a week or so if you tilted your bars back! I see loads of people riding with bars too far forwards, it forces your elbows out and up which stiffens up your whole upper body which leads to worse riding. Are you sure your brake was better without a booster and not just louder? in 99% of cases a booster will improve the holding power of a brake. Other than the bars it looks pretty decent though!
  14. that's the latest geo The 06 frame was gash, *roughly* 1090, 375, +60 and 72.
  15. they have the longest steerer of any forks we sell, you have no problems if you want to add a spacer (or five!).
  16. my phone cast a fiver new, so buy a bike AND a phone
  17. Cousts were crap compared with TNN, I would rather use croco pads than coust again, but TNN are better than both
  18. narr, just won't brake as good. Everyone needs to try Stan's rear brake, I bet NO ONE would ever doubt the pads then, his brake is the best I have EVER felt!
  19. blackstone edge if the weather is nice enough
  20. nothing comes close to TNN!
  21. my proto yaabaa Sucks about your ankle Ben, hope you get better soon
  22. sounds amazing! Nice one Matt!
  23. I personally think its beneficial to learn on a low bb. This teaches you more about how body weight effects the bike rather than having the bike do some of the work for you. Some may disagree, but I can't think of anyone great who started on a high bb bike.
