  1. and front vee is even lighter than both!
  2. I genuinely don't know how much it was in total, and again, we don't usually like to disclose exact prices of builds like that 'cos it tends to make things... complicated, sometimes. It wasn't cheap, but it is worth it If you knock the bits in a big order on the website you should get an idea.
  3. This is actually OBM, but Ali's currently running some Echos on his stock. Think he's going back to Trialtechs and a front disc for the strizeets (Stoppie action ahoy), and saving the front V for comps. I think Stan's working through e-mails 'n' stuff this afternoon, so you maaaay get an answer later on. Maybe.
  4. If you mean weight wise, probably a shade under 9.4kg now it's been ground. If you mean price wise, we can't really say 'cos it varies depending on the build specified...
  5. Nah, bit of tweakage but not much. Set the white balance to 'cloudy' so it means it brings out the orange/purples/reds in the sunset. The buildings were silhouetted 'cos it was really dark, I had two flashes lighting up Ali and the wall so it meant that it just looked like that off camera. Tweaked out a bit of a distracting shop light from inside the silhouetted bit, but that was about it.
  6. A rough spec is: Frame: Win Forks: Win Bars: Win ... I can't remember it off hand, I'll try and track it down in a bit. EDIT: Frame: Yaabaa Stinger Forks: Echo SL Bars: Try-All Rage '09 Stem: Tarty Forged Headset: Ultra nice Chris King BB: Reset (w/Echo SL crank bolts) Cranks: Try-All Pedals: Try-All Tinesium MG-1 Chain: Trialtech Lite Bashring: Trialtech Ti half-ring Wheelset: Try-All 'H' hubs/Try-All hOle rims/Sapim spokes (Conti Der Kaiser rear, single ply 2.1" High Roller up front) Brakes: Magura HS33/4-finger blade/SL clamps/LGM pads (rear) - Monotrial front disc Think that's everything. All the bolts in pretty much everything are ti, apart from a couple of alloys.
  7. Pimpest bike we've ever sold (Bar one, arguably) is now up on the blog - check it oooout!
  8. welded a disk mount to my old pashley forks and it was perfect
  9. I want to go to buithiers, but I would rather go further in the year when its warmer.
  10. the bearings are odd on those bottom brackets, the inner race is actually the axle itself, they are not your normal cartridge bearings and are not replaceable.
  11. I have been to tour de scay and its totally crap compared with buthiers! This is shit news, I know I won't be going, there isn't much to ride, its in the middle of nowhere, further to drive..all together a big disapointment.

    Ali C In Czech

hey guys This is a vid of my time in Czech earlier this year. I hope you enjoy! Here a BIG thanks to Lucaz for filming and editing, I know he's been SUPER busy so thanks again!
  13. I think you should put a quality vee on there, a hydro brake will be heavier, harder to set up and no more powerful. I would sell my teeth to have a frame with vee mounts!

    Mod Tyres

Your money is correct And this is OBM too - but yeah, I did both tyres in about 10 mins watching the TV. Fresh Stanley blade and a little bowl of soapy water. Dip the blade in each time and it flies through, it works so well. Minimal hassle. I did my tyre on Adam's recommendation - fully wasn't into the idea of it, but trusted in Adam's infinite wisdom. It worked really well - it actually sounds grippier when you pedal hard. It makes a pretty much 'brrm brrm' sound when you do two half-pedals one after the other. It grips frighteningly well on mossy rocks, and owns street too. I'd definitely recommend doing it. Just when you're sitting there on TF, watching TV, wherever. Just get a new blade, soapy water, bam. Do it!
  15. I meant that K-124 and Tartybikes operate out of the same building here in the UK. Seperate companies, same building.
  16. K-124 is the sister company to Tartybikes, so they're both in these same warehouses, both get sent out by the same people, etc. - so basically, if you order from K-124 you're getting the same service as from Tarty, although you don't get the free Tarty stickers, chainstay protector or T-shirt depending on how much you spend.

    Mod Tyres

If you want to save weight (If that's what you meant?) and increase grip, you can cut the marked knobbles off. Did it to mine, shit is pure win. Super grippy now, and sheds mud really nicely too. With the Try-All front, Ali's cut his so that it was like this - it also appears to be all good. So yeah, do that if you want to save weight and make your tyres even grippier. Regarding clearance, it's kinda weird but it's almost like the Montys have the extra width lower down the tyre, so they have a wider base for the tread to sit on (making it more stable and better bounce wise too), so the extra width isn't really noticeable at the top, where you're going to have less clearance - if that makes sense. So yeah, if you can fit a 2.5" alright then you can fit the Eagle Claw.

    Slate.

Used that very word when I picked it

    Mod Tyres

I've got an Eagle Claw on the rear of my mod. Pure win. Would prefer a Try-All up front, but I've got a Creepy Crawler on at the mo, but yeah, a Monty rear/Try-All front combo is basically the best setup you can get.

    Zbm?

My bars are 38" so it's at least that No idea how flexy it is without the booster, sorry. I just banged the booster straight on and my brake dominates, which is pretty handy. Should be reasonably stiff though, 'cos those built-in booster/plates should work pretty well. I'd still recommend a booster with it though, just to try and make sure it lasts a bit longer and doesn't crack round the 4-bolt mounts. 1025-ish, I think? I'll double check later on for you. OBM
  21. when we met him, he tried to run away, Joel wrestled him to the ground and got him in some crazy headlock. Ric managed to bite Joel, so Mark came over and whipped out his baseball bat and gave him a couple of hits. Ric was still fighting so I got out my tazer and rendered him asleep. We then strolled off with the bike. OR WHAT REALLY HAPPENED As Ric walked up with the bike, Joel went over and asked to look at it. He then passed it to me and I made sure it was all the same and not broken. When I was satified, I said "Hi, I am Ali, this is my bike and I'll be taking it now". he said "oh,...hi. Sorry, I was still trying to get the bike back to you" WHAT A LOAD OF SHITE! I told him I was pissed off with him and then left. Shame I am £50 out on fuel though
  22. good news everyone! I now have the bike back. Mark made a fake email account and posed as a buyer. We arranged a time and place to meet in London and drove down yesterday (4 hours each way!). Lets just say he didn't put up a fight.
