  1. I ran my Hamiltons for about 9 months with no creaking at all (what with them being plastic, there's very little metal-on-metal contact to cause creaking). Because the Hamiltons have good concave, knurling and pins they also stay grippy for longer. They're beast for pedal grinds too...
  2. The only plastic pedals worth using are the Animal Hamilton ones. Without exception (apart from maybe the Fly Rubens...) the rest of the pedals really aren't that great. Twisted PCs are too flat and have wanky pins, the Seventies/Wellgo pedals are pretty slippery and are prone to snapping, and the 'Gusset' (or whoever's put their name on them) plastics with metal pins are just toss. As I said - go Animal, or don't go plastic at all. EDIT: This was Mark...
  3. I have had some good moments! Being British champion, winning a World Championship round, being 3rd in the World overall (in Expert). Getting into a UCI Final, Taking Danny Macs place in the Clan demo team. But I think the biggest highlight may be happening this week, I'll report back.

    Echo Lite 09

    holy low front end!
  5. that was the Old Skool comp, using old bikes and old type sections...great fun!
  6. I miost definately have the bug. I built my inspired up in november and took the brakes off at christmas. I have not touched my comp bike since last year and I have only just put my brakes back on for demo reasons. I have competed for 13 years, but brakeless is so fun I don't think I'll compete again anytime soon. get that shit gathered!
  7. stop being so wrong, your hurting my eyes
  8. you didn't bleed the brake with the tpa on did you? it sounds typical of a piston bottoming out in the lever to me, that would give the solid lever feel and poor braking performance. Even wih the stiffest parts available, I would expect that frame to give the brake at least a little bit of sponge.
  9. that's an old vid, there's plenty of new/better stuff now. I recken a hardtail or short travel full sus would be good, the dh tracks are pretty tame, you can do pretty much all of them on a rigid bike if needed, but front sus would make you faster. the tracks are pretty short, the newer ones with berms and stuff are under a min long, but if you go from the top of the quarry, expect closer to 3 mins (but with a couple of flatter section). DEFFO take a hardtail or rigid for the pump track though!

    New Hs33 Brake

heard about these last year, from what I understand they will still do the current lever design as well as the newer one (which the rep said wouldn't be ideal for trials)
  11. not sad I didn't go, didn't look as good as previous years. Also, did I see Giaco smiling???
  12. yes, just make sure you get a good cable and pads
  13. can't beleive you but a maggie on a frame with vee mounts! What I would do for a frame with vee mounts!
  14. that IS phatpad compound. Before Mike used to sell it I would buy it from that company and sell pads un the Joypad name. I then told Mike where to get it and he started selling under is Phatpad name. but obviously you should be buying TNN pads anyway
  15. Mark, Stan and Danny Mac use the Holy Rollers for trials and all seem to like them. Stan and Mark ride quite a lot of natural with them on and don't seem to have any problems. They're good tyres for the money! I think the 24x2._ High Rollers are still in production, just in short supply.
  16. Stan's bike has the luxury of traveling in a car to itself, Mark's bike gets battered against my pedals and stuff when we get the bikes in and out of the car. It would be cool if it was green or something but the paint wouldn't last long.
  17. remember to keep your weight forward. Once you get your weight over the front, get it FURTHER over the front! the more weight you get over the front wheel when you land, the less you have to do in the 2nd part With proper technique, you don't need to use brakes to hook.
  18. I would send back: Trialtech forks, no more worries about strength. Wide rims Conti Rain King tyres
  19. looks like brakeless is catching on then, deffo a good rider, some pretty tech stuff there!
