  1. hey, back around 2002-2003 there was a DVD made called Hibernation. It featured northern riders like Waynio, Danny Smith, Steven Petty and others. I have unfortunately lost my copy and have a real urge to watch it again! Is it online anywhere? does anyone have a copy they can upload? Cheers Ali
  2. Narr he a dam good rider, but there was always a roughness with his riding that to me, kept him from the top.
  3. haha, cheers for the backing, I guess an email wouldn't hurt.
  4. I can't think of a worse bike for a challenge like that, I deffo think it should be streety, to be able to bunnyhop over stuff, up walls and down drops. It's different to bmx and still fast and entertaining (rather than watching someone roll up to a wall, trackstand, get on the back wheel, hop about and then get up the wall).
  5. I did mine at Orange bikes in Halifax, it was pretty awesome. Got to build top spec bikes, see the bikes getting welded, got shown the heat treatment process and top secret new bikes on the computers (before the 222 was shown). The second one I did was at a small bike shop in Halifax, it was crap! the owner didn't even like bikes and was just a miserable git.
  6. just got an Orange 5 AM, it's a fantastic bike! I went to a demo day in Scotland a tried a few bikes (cove, Mondraker, Santacruze, other Orange bikes) but the 5 just blew the others out of the water both uphill and downhill. I know it's not got the latest greatest suspension design nor mega travel, but its simple and works! I would feel quite happy hitting Downhill tracks on this bike (I may race at some point). The point is ride a few bikes, don't get fooled to think that you need mega travel or a complex new design to get a good bike, sometims simple is best.
  7. weight forward, that's the key. Once you have it forward, get it even MORE forward! Honestly, if you do that, you will fly up them, you won't even need to use brakes (check my hooks in my brakeless vids)
  8. it was more that we wanted to actually ride and hang out rather than stay at a stall and "be at work" really. We have had stalls at other events and they never work out to be worth the hassle.

    Tf Nostalgia

No, I meant Kloe did actually get the forum shut down. Poopipe didn't, neither did Char. Neither were as 'bad'. Mr.Monkey is definitely a noticeable absence, as is TheCircus. People cry about Pete Wright but he was just a tool - MrMonkey and TheCircus were genuinely awesome, it's just that the people they preyed on couldn't handle it, and because that category happens to contain most of the forum, the majority won... EDIT: Logged in as Ali - I lose.
  10. hey again, yet more footage, this time the BBC came to one of the shows the Clan did at the Royal Highland Show this past weekend. They strapped a helmet cam on me and this is the end result (don't know why they used a failed footjam whip in the footage when I landed a few afterwards lol) link, don't know how to embed
  11. new longer vid with interviews in my first post.
  12. yeah, my 5" travel bike seems overkill there, I did do one black "run" on my brakeless inspired lol. But yeah, the trials stuff is pretty rad and that pump track is addictive!
  13. Yo folks A few weeks ago Stan and Myself were asked to help with a promotional vid showcasing Lee Quarrys range of riding. It's mostly XC stuff, but half way through the trials gets in on the action. enjoy singletrackworld new longer one with interviews

    Gatorade Advert

    Gatorade Advert

hey guys, a couple of months ago I was asked to be part of an on-line advert for Gatorade with Victoria Pendlton. Well the edit is finally done, don't expect a good trials vid, it meant to entertain normal folk not picky trials riders enjoy
  18. all valid points, but I pretty much CAN"T use mineral fluid because I have stupid puny arms that get arm pump after 10 seconds of braking. With Water the lighter lever action greatly reduces the arm pump (although not as much as a vee brake does). I also can't think of single rider in the world top 10 who uses mineral oil in their brakes.
  19. I generally find high bb bikes harder to do most stuff on including sidehops and gaps. However hooks were easier.
  20. My top five in no particular order Danny Macaskill Chris Akrigg Rowan Johns John Shrewsbury Joel Bennet
  21. deffo got the power! but I am not really into this type of video, I almost made it to the end (which is saying a lot actually)
  22. to put it simply....uphill is your brake, downhill is your speed. the uphill may only be an anthill, but if you use it right you can use it to act like a brake. PS, get your own name
