  1. I am sure I was there longer than 3 years too! lol
  2. haha, so tartybikes could train you up just for you to open a rival shop? narr kidding, good luck with it! And yes, it is cool to be a full time rider, one day I hope to be able to run kids heads over...that's the dream!!
  3. they probably have your number come up on their phone and like to talk to you. But yeah, I found them hit or miss on the phone. (plus Martin still calls me Adam even though I always say it's Ali at the start of the call lol)
  4. be patient, I found they are pretty hopeless at answering the phone (I nearly told them where to shove the dam product I wanted after trying to get in touch for 5 hours)
  5. I agree, I REALLY miss being brakeless, I don't really feel like I have pushed my riding much since putting the brakes back on, but Demos would be hard without them.
  6. pretty sure it will be 6 months, but if they have broken when you smacked them against a wall, I wouldn't be holding my breath about them being replaced.
  7. taking a girl out on a date when your 12? I was still playing with toys at that age, completely innocent to their presence.
  8. Shimanos first discs were 4 pot xt, they stopped making them a while back though. I REALLY like Formula brakes, bit expensive though.

    Atomz 2010 Range

They had brakes, but the pads on the hs33 bikes were to fat to fit the rim so they didn't even bother fitting them. We either had to replace the pads or cut them down until they fit. The disc versions had the hoses swapped by Atomz but they were so short it was stupid, plus they lost a lot of fluid in the process so all the disc bikes need the brakes bleeding . Also they sent bikes with bolt through forks and non bolt through front wheels and then denyng it's a problem.
  10. I never advise getting a long bike as your first bike, well not unless you ONLY want to be good at hopping rather than riding a bike. A short bike will let you do more (bunnyhops, spins, manuals) which I know isn't what a lot of people would class as vital stuff, but trust me, it will make a better all-round rider in the long run.
  11. yeah, not much room to do any actual pedaling

the frames look quite smart but I hate Atomz with a passion! Pain in the arse to deal with, sent out un-ridable bikes and then deny there was ever a problem! Still, saying that, I did like my Premire frame a lot.

    Iolo

he's still alive! Looks like he is riding as good as ever, nice to see him rince a couple of Vince lines too
  14. not too bothered, not weighed it, I recken it's around 11kg though
  15. Am I right in guessing your idea of street is sidehops and gaps? For bunnyhopping, spinny street, a shorter bike is the way to go!
  16. My fave Danny quote "Mmmmm, nice bit of Sausage" (said while talking in his sleep)
  17. I guess most people automaticly think vees suck because they have only ever used bad ones on cheap bikes. Also most bikes have maggie mounts so it is etra hassle and expence to get adaptors. People also think cables stretch (vees are usually as stiff as maggies) and get gritty (not if you get decent cable).
  18. the sheer depth to how much you are wrong is hard to imagine! Vees are simply amazing! I rode rear vee for 4 years, they are more powerful than maggies, have MUCH more holding power and have another dozen reasons why they are better than maggies. A front vee is deffo the way to go, there is simply no reason why anyone should choose a maggie over a vee! Good choice on the lever, I would also recommend avid sd7 arms or shimano LX or XT. Get yourself some TNN pads and some decent cable too (shimano SP5 cable, we have some at Tartybikes if you ask for it). That will have amazing bite and hold.
  19. This is my 13th year..half my life!

  20. get the brakeless roadtrip vid made!
