  1. I was going to say a try-all stiky front tyre is still probably my fave (the normal one, not the shift)
  2. I am not a fan of super light front tyres, they tend to bounce you off rocks (lighter tyres have a faster rebound because usually you need higher psi to stop folding and punctures, the same reason why light rear tyres have a lot of bounce). A heavier front tyre is sooooo much more accurate when riding natural. Rear tyre, I still say Der Kaiser, it's not like they are mega heavy and unless you are competing in the world champs I would be more concerned on making the bike ride well rather than being a weight freak.
  3. if you ride natural or anything off camber, get the der kaiser

    Braided Hosing

I wouldn't recommend it for magura rim brakes, the bore size of the fittings is a lot smaller than on normal barbed fittings which means the fluid doesn't pass through as easily resulting in a slow sluggish feeling brake. Plus Superstar as a company are kind of twats.
  5. new 26" frame with a reasonable bb height shocker!!!!!!! (because simple in case you were yourself quite simple )
  6. cant stand their tyres. The Rocket Ron uses a hard compound suitable for xc where low rolling resistance and long wear life are pretty important. Also having the weight 480g and "reasonable puncture protection" does not compute! Having such a light tyre is fine if you only ever ride the bike on the rear wheel, but once you start riding properly (not aimed at you personally) and using the front for stuff, the lack of grip will become an issue and if you want to start doing tech natural, you may find such a light tyre has a lot of "bounce" and will rebound you off rocks when you land not to mention the possibility of getting punctures too.

full body lycra in the street....hmm
  8. if you can extend your budget a bit, the Inspired Element is big value and rides extremely well. Deffo worth considering. For your £500 budget the Onza Zoot is also a good buy, good geo, most parts are pretty good too (if a bit heavy). Those are the only two I would be looking at though.
  9. The sad thing is, that lion is actually laughing
  10. no brake pads will work on a smooth rim in any amount of water, ESPECIALLY if you use tar as well. Just grind the rim and be happy that the brake will work all the time.
  11. I love paying with paypal, it's really quick. I'll often choose to buy from one shop over another purely because they have paypal.
  12. needs some icicles and maybe a polarbear.

go to any type of cycle race and you will have to wear a helmet, that isn't as such to promote safe riding, it's to help for insurance and things. Chris isn't in a race, he is out and about riding his bike. I always wear my helmet, but I quite happy for others to do as they wish.

yeah, while we're at it, all bmxers in videos should also have written contracts to wear helmets too cos it's blatantly giving the companies a bad image.

    Tribalzine News

I remember Dominique talking about this when he came over to visit Tartybikes, I had assumed it wasn't going ahead, but it's great news to hear they want to carry on and are putting the cogs into motion. I hope they can build it fairly quickly so I can still ride it while I am young
  18. then wait until later to post. edit: Wait, you can go on-line on I pods now?
  19. I make him go and sit down and think about what he's done (or hasn't as is more accurate)
