  1. hmm, not sure I agree, there is more important things than weight. I would consider 1800g to be the best of both worlds. Will be strong enough to last a year or longer and not too heavy.
  2. did you know they have taken the word "gullible" out of the dictionary?
  3. haha, but that's street, this will be logs. I'll just backhop around and maybe do some bike dancing if there is some music
  4. REALLY hoping I am available for this! I AM available!!

I think they need to make tracks with jumps or cross junctions, I'd probably watch it then.
  6. I approve of the latest update and only time will tell if I approve of the next one.
  7. long chainstays though = pretty bad for everything.
  8. the bits about "best customer service possible" (completely ignoring problems with bikes he has sent in the past) and having the bikes "tuned ready to ride from the box" (sending through axle forks with regular wheels, brakes that don't fit/are not bled etc) made me giggle. but I do agree with his points about competitions and some of the safety points he was making.
  9. isis = stronger axles Square taper = stronger bearings bottom brackets don't have engagement points.
  10. five tens get the vote from me, super grippy, comfy and come in a high, medium or low cut. I have a pair of Vans too, but they are so slippery I don't dare ride in them.
  11. cheers guys, though I must admit to being a bit disappointed that the ramps were out of bounds after being told they were usable all weekend, they were what I wanted to ride the most. Still had fun on the trialsy stuff though.
  12. around 20 grinds seems reasonable, when it starts to dent, you know it's near the end.
  13. still not sure, if I do go it will only be for sunday morning when the weather is not as good.
  14. I don't think you can re-anodise rims, they usually have a steel pinned joint which messes up the process
  15. if you havn't already tilt the bars back so they have a comfortable backsweep. I wouldn't bother changing any parts, there is no magic cure, just practice.
  16. Danny's forks also weighed over 1kg and today's modern rider arn't strong enough to lift that.
  17. yeah, just grind down a starnut to fit.
  18. I spent the first 3 years of riding trials using two fingers on my brakes. I ended up buying some RB levers (only room for one finger) to force me to use one. it's definitely beneficial to try and get used to one finger braking.

I am really not into the whole fixie scene, but they are actually very very nice to ride, they make hills easier (because the wheel is already turning you don't have to put as much effort in) and you generally have to concentrate slightly harder which is fun (in the same way riding brakeless is fun). Plus its nice not having any cables, mech, brakes to make noises or clutter up the bars. I managed to build the bike for around £140, bargain if you ask me!

    THOSE straps are very useful
  21. yeah, family friends are rather worried, they live less than a 100 miles from a nuclear plant that has lost it's cooling systems (not sure if it's the same one that blew up already or not).
