hmm, not sure I agree, there is more important things than weight. I would consider 1800g to be the best of both worlds. Will be strong enough to last a year or longer and not too heavy.
the bits about "best customer service possible" (completely ignoring problems with bikes he has sent in the past) and having the bikes "tuned ready to ride from the box" (sending through axle forks with regular wheels, brakes that don't fit/are not bled etc) made me giggle. but I do agree with his points about competitions and some of the safety points he was making.
five tens get the vote from me, super grippy, comfy and come in a high, medium or low cut.
I have a pair of Vans too, but they are so slippery I don't dare ride in them.
cheers guys, though I must admit to being a bit disappointed that the ramps were out of bounds after being told they were usable all weekend, they were what I wanted to ride the most. Still had fun on the trialsy stuff though.
if you havn't already tilt the bars back so they have a comfortable backsweep. I wouldn't bother changing any parts, there is no magic cure, just practice.
I spent the first 3 years of riding trials using two fingers on my brakes. I ended up buying some RB levers (only room for one finger) to force me to use one. it's definitely beneficial to try and get used to one finger braking.
