ha, seems like their plan to move to a new venue to stop the UK riders from going sure worked! Such a shame, seems like the French don't know how to have fun.
  4. I kinda agree with sstein but I would go for a 74 degree head angle combined with a short stem, there is no advantage in having a slacker head angle for street riding.
  5. I wondered why there were more England flags out than normal....now I know.
  6. get a vee get a vee get a vee get a vee get a vee get a vee get a vee
  7. When I did comps, the lightest I ever had my bike was 9.8kg I think. I go for reliability over weight saving, I don't like having things flex and take away from the precision, I like to have grippy tyres that have the most grip and decent puncture protection as there is no point having a light bike and then not being able to do anything due to the tyres not gripping, bouncing you off rocks and getting punctures. Right now my street bike weighs around 11kg and that seems plenty light enough.
  8. Riders were: Ben (why does it always rain on me) Travis Duncan Shaw Nick goddard Ross McArthur Jack Meek and Myself. The show is INCREDIBLY cheesey, but it's for charity, so it's OK....I think
  9. as I said, get a streety bike, once you put on some low profile tyres and pump them up a bit, trials gearing is still good enough to get plenty of speed and if you take the brakes off the feeling of speed is improved further.
  10. you should deffo look into getting a streetier bike either 24" or 26" and try brakesless too, that will put the fun back into riding
  11. tried both and the TNNs were better, the heatsinks didn't have the hold I would get with the TNNs
  12. I found the SD7s to be far the best, they are comfy and have the speed dial adjustment which is dead handy
  13. if you got some profiles you could get a slightly longer axle and use some "no boss" 22t sprockets, will be very strong, very stiff and not all that heavy either.
  14. tan wall tyres = win! VERY nice bike!
  15. no, due to the way the pads get "sucked" into the rim. with the pads being slightly behind the arms of the brake the pads get pulled into the rim with forwards motion and pushed away from the rim with backwards motion. this is why they don't have that much bite on the rear wheel, but have a ton of hold.
  16. "find a job you like and you'll never work again" : some ex-priminister who helped out during WWII. "good things come to those who wait" : some beer advert

    Jack Carthy

looks like all that time in the sunbed is paying off! Narr joking aside, Jack is seriously impressive! I can't believe I am nearly double his age , lets hope he doesn't get bored and continues to kick ass when he's old enough to compete with the big boys.
  18. yeah that was what I found with front fees, a rear mounted one wont seem as powerful as a front mounted one hence my comment above.
  19. though not quite as good as a front mounted vee.
  20. matt was waiting....so was I....so you should have ended the wait with the official ending a wait dots..... I'll get my coat..
