  1. it turned from bashguard.com to trials-forum, I think anyway. I didn't find it, it found me.
  2. been done, spinnergy used to make tri-spoked carbon wheels and now produce carbon spoked (as in the traditional sense) The main isses were cost (as you said) plus they couldn't be repaired or trued if damaged (plus they looked crap). A lot of manufacturers are making carbon rimmed wheels these days, they seem to be the best of both worlds, also Mavic and other road manufacturers make super expensive (IE, £4800 PER WHEEL) full carbon wheels with either hollow or bladed carbon spokes, pretty nuts really.
  3. I didn't watch it, mainly because I didn't know it was the wedding today (I didn't know it was a bank holiday today either) and I went riding instead. Oh yeah, I really couldn't give two shits about the whole thing either.

some sweet riding there! we need to ride....again!
  5. without seeing your brake I can't say for sure, I am finding it hard to imagine what's happened too. sorry about the PM, I knew there was something I was meant to do! Will reply now.
  6. would make an already heavy hub heavier though. I don't really feel a lack of engagements when I am riding either. I would rather see them slim down the hub a bit instead, there is no need to have room for 6spd now the rules for comps have changed, making it a true singlespeed could save a fair lump of steel.
  7. are you using a spacer on the drive side? you should be and even then the non-drive side wont sit flush with the frame, it should have a large o-ring to go in the gap left, but it doesn't matter too much if you dont have it.
  8. If you've got a tripod with an extendable mid-section, they can be a pretty handy sort of steadicam. Innuendo ahoy: Expose a hands-width of mid-section, then spread the legs and extend them a touch. If you hold it one-handed on the exposed mid-section bit, it balances it out really nicely. Works well for non-fixed tripod shots.
  9. What, exactly the same as a normal chain with one half-link? I have no idea how you haven't managed to stretch your chain that much - every half-link I've used has stretched more than a normal link, and every half-link chain I've seen used has stretched significantly more than a normal chain. Their design means that they always will stretch more than a standard link so again I don't really understand how your's hasn't stretched much... Which one are you using, out of interest? If it's a Shadow V2 chain that might explain it because they're the best ones out there, but they're still not as good as a standard chain with one half link in it.
  10. We are back on again for the final show, not sure when it is but keep an eye out.
  11. never at any point in my life have I ever known what I want to do, not when doing exams (not that I did any mind) never going through collage not even now. sometimes I am jealous of people who have goals, but not all the time.
  12. lol doing something wrong if you are snapping Sapins. I swear by them, neve snapped one in 7? years I have been using them.
  13. I like the country, I don't like the drinking yobbo culture that lives in just about every town.
  14. I suck at them so badly, it's all about looking with your head and twisting the body. Most trials riders do them the "wrong" way of spinning towards the good foot, try and learn them towards the bad foot and it will look better and not f**k up your other types of spins. It's a lot harder to do them this way, but it's worth it.
  15. no speed dial adjustment on the lever, no care.
  16. you're such a trouble maker Iain!
  17. I am the opposite, I try not to think any more than a year ahead. where will I be in 10 years?? I havn't got a clue, hopefully not injured and still riding.

ha, seems like their plan to move to a new venue to stop the UK riders from going sure worked! Such a shame, seems like the French don't know how to have fun.
  19. I kinda agree with sstein but I would go for a 74 degree head angle combined with a short stem, there is no advantage in having a slacker head angle for street riding.
  20. I wondered why there were more England flags out than normal....now I know.
  21. get a vee get a vee get a vee get a vee get a vee get a vee get a vee
  22. When I did comps, the lightest I ever had my bike was 9.8kg I think. I go for reliability over weight saving, I don't like having things flex and take away from the precision, I like to have grippy tyres that have the most grip and decent puncture protection as there is no point having a light bike and then not being able to do anything due to the tyres not gripping, bouncing you off rocks and getting punctures. Right now my street bike weighs around 11kg and that seems plenty light enough.
