  1. Hey Ben, I was gladly going to attend this Sunday's ride but I realised it's the Bike Show weekend and so I can't make the Sunday, man. But I'm totally up for the following Sunday, which is also better seeing as other riders can come as well, like Tom. Somethings gotta go down for sure, just not this weekend.

Shareaza 9/10 using integers. Otherwise it'd be 9.4/10 because it's ultra rad.

    Appeal Bands

Fair point. But the thing is there is still only one band in this system. Mr. A bought it off the charity and then sold it to Mr. B. Most people are selling them on because they know there's a demand for them. This creates what's called derived demand for the bands straight from the charities. The phony eBay sellers have to buy from the charity in order to sell them on. So the more demand he gets from eBay the more he's going to invest in the charity - which is surely the greater good in this. I know what you mean about both parties buying direct from the charity instead of one person, but then you can dwell into problems of the human. I can honestly say I haven't a fkin clue where to buy one from a charity online. Sure, after an impatient search I will eventually find the source... but again, that's a chore. Charity is a chore. eBay is quicker and easier for the common fag, saving time and hassle. If you ignore all these minor short-termist problems and look in the long run... the charities are making hella more dollar than they would if they hadn't introduced the bands, regardless of the fact that a few sole traders are also making a bob on the side. It's all good.

    Appeal Bands

Yes it's all fair and well proclaiming how we should be and the attitudes we should have towards charitable things, but at the end of that day humans suck balls. We won't do anything (as much) unless we gain in some way, shape or form. And that's why the average person would rather go and buy some £70 jeans from Top Man than donate less than half of that to a charity. And also giving to charity has become both a chore and a symbol of status. It's like, people would go and blindly buy something from a capitalist retailer and it would hold no significat value. Whereas going to the charity shop is like "Ah man, it's all the way round the corner", and once you've donated you're eager to brag about it almost to say "I'm a nicer person than you" - thereby creating inequalities, which is precisely what giving to charity is supposed to eliminate! Anyway, going back to the first point, some guy/charity somewhere had obviously picked up on this and realised that the only way to encourage greater charitable expenditure is to offer something in return. Wristbands in general seem to have taken off lately and so it seemed like a good market to nibble in to. Buying these bands directly from the charity companies is good for obvious reasons, but also buying them from some random bloke of eBay counts for the same thing 'cos they inevitably had to buy them off the charity, and so they're still getting their money in the end. Don't get annoyed by people selling them on, that's just capitalism in action. I've an anti-racism one, which is pretty nifty. And it's also got the cool factor being nobody in the sixth form has one but me. Fashion over function/meaning. Oh yes.
  5. Sickest street video ever. Creativity at its finest.
  6. Saw it last night. Looked like an awesome little comp. There were a few good moves in there, like your wallride to x-up among others. Didn't need the 3 hours of backflips though. Looking forward to the trialmedia one fo' sho'.

    Stats

Yeah but isn't there some way of changing your IP all the time, through a Proxy or something. Unless unique visits are measured some way other than by registering the users IP address.
  11. I didn't call Mart a cock...? I said it's a G car cos I like it, and things I like are G. I'm just saying Richard got banned for posting pics of his car, but apparantly it's now 'legalised'. Whateverness, I don't care anyway.
  12. So you're allowed to post pics of your G car, but NoRcO wasn't? Right, I get it now.
  13. Sorry to hear that, Simon. If you're gonna hold future competitions you'll need to assess what went wrog with this one. One possible answer is that it was simply too much hassle. Clearly not many people were assed enough to go out and do such a chore. If it was something like 'best trials picture' or something, then I'm sure you'd have had a far greater response because people don't necessarily have to go out of their way to do that - any trials ride could be sufficient. By the way, if you only received one entry (and it was cack) would it have won by default, even though it contradicted the word 'competition', since there clearly wouldn't have been any? Anyway, there's still a week and a bit till the show... why not try another little comp?
  14. You can control the camera with a USB cable, too. As long as your camera has a USB slot, which it will because it's like the bog-standard thing to have, then you can transfer videos/images no problemo. Obviously the quality won't be as lubbly jubbly as you'd expect from a FireWire, but it's still watchable. You should have got some software with your camera, but if you didn't there should be plenty to 'acquire' off the net. I use Image Mixer v8, which... does the job. But if you're required to spend money, spend that bit more on the FireWire shabang.
  15. Hell yeah! Hopefully not too far for me though! Reading, maybe? 'tis kinda mainstream for trials rides, so why not a bmx ride? I know there's a few bmx'ers there as well who would be well up for a little gathering. But wherever. Let me know, likes.
  16. Seen them both before, and they're f**king sicko. But Hamilton's section in Can I Eat? is better than in the Federal video. Haha was waiting for someone to spot that. The answer is in the next clip.

    Hangman!

Righty, it's hot. I'm bored. Let's play TF hangman. Now I'm still unsure how it'll work but let me propose this to you. Everyone can only suggest one letter a time, until the full word is completed. Winner is obviously the one who spots the word first and posts it up. The person responsible needs to edit his/her thread as efficiently as possible to ensure people aren't guessing away aimlessly. There can only be 10 wrong letters per game. (Like shit is this gonna work...) Film _ _ _ / _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ / _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ Tally ho.

    Mbedge New Video

That was pretty good. Liked the stoppie to 360 thingy. Please don't use those gay transitions, with the exploding boxes thing (or whatever) it makes the video look cheap. Even though it's free...
  20. f**king cool video, man. Song fitted perfectly. Riding was something else.
  21. Nadda through Winter. Summer, though... Having said that, I have migraine tablets this time around so the sun can go f**k itself this year.
