  1. If the bottom race wont fit in the cup correctly then its more likely to be either your frame or your forks that aren't faced properly. I had the smae problem with my Leeson frame with a Specialities TA headset that Clive sent me. Instead of getting the fork crown and headtube faced i just sent the headset back and bought a Cane Creek £8 jobbie as i dont see there being any need for an expensive headset as trialsbikes rarely get muddy/exposed to harsh weather. I wouldn't assume that your headset is fake, it really does look genuine, the problem that you have is more likely that fact that your headset is machined too accurately to allow a less than perfect fork and headtube surfaces. Andrew
  2. Mike, you idiot!! You got a death wish?
  3. I thought that the rule was that you could wear shorts as long as lower leg protection is worn?? Surely you're must better protected by shin pads as opposed to leggins? Sounds like someone (or their parents) didnt like the fact that Jack is so good for his age...
  4. The site has had a bit of a revamp and with it some reductions on Monty complete bikes. The spares section should be up shortly. Take a look: www.cleanbikes.co.uk
  5. yeah, ed potts now has it, but it has a double seat tube design
  6. that is one Niiice bike!!
  7. Really enjoyed it, great comp. Big thanks to the organisers and observers for a top job as usual. The only one request that i have is that the complaints made about the difficulty of the red route seemed a little unfair. In my eyes the difficulty was just right and no changes were needed, after all it is a national trial. Yes there was one section that was very difficult for red route (section 5), seemingly just as hard as the yellow route for that particular section, but it was the only section that was borderline in terms of difficulty and i think that every trial should have a section like that. All i ask is that people think a bit harder before complaining about the sections (that were set in what i heard was awful weather conditions by volunteers) and just get on and ride them instead. But still a top comp and a great day out! Andrew
  8. Cleanbikes have recently reduced the price, can't remember what it is now, take a look on their website.
  9. no its not, monty did away with that idea a few years ago. It actually looks like it nips the steerer tube in the forks, not sure on its purpose. monty havn't made their 26" wheels in white yet...
  10. yeah, definitely going to go. I just need to get some practise on it!
  11. awesome pics Mike! Laughed pretty hard at the one of Bigman! Andrew
  12. I'm back home now, I'm a bit busy working at the moment but will hopefully have some spare time soon. Just getting used to it on my stuff on the farm at the moment, but yeah a ride sounds good! I don't know, hadn't noticed it, will check it out. Thats how it came, I'm not sure what front rim it is, think its the old 26" Monty rim. Might be in need of a drill I like the black front rim and i dont mind the red rear one, it goes with monty's colour scheme. Felt like the right time to, being a tall rider i think the 26" suits me better and I see it as a progression. Andrew
  13. Collected my new 231 Kamel on saturday, here are the pictures: A few more to add: Another one from the front, but with the downtube in focus this time Not had much time to ride it yet but it feels like such a nice bike, its so light and really stiff! Big thanks to Barbara and Chris at Cleanbikes for the bike and sponsorship! Andrew
  14. sorry, i didn't mean to come across as trying to put them down, i never said anything bad about them, im just saying that time will tell us how strong they are, and i mean more than a month or two. But they look the dogs and i'm sure they'll perform just as well as the rest of Dave's stuff does! British engineering for the win! Andrew
  15. you havn't had it that long surely?? and that ain't exactly long anyway
  16. don't think anyones ran one long enough to see how bombproof they are, we shall see...
  17. had the exam this afternoon, thankfully, the hard bit in part iii) wasn't asked, the other bits were easy. Yeah, thats what it means, so you need to standardise the distribution to N(0,1) by using the equation z=(X-mean)/stnd dev
  18. hello, sorry to post up another exam question, but i cant find the solution anywhere, its part iii) (i know you need the tables to work out the answer, but i want the expression needed) i know its not complicated, i just can't see it! cheers, Andrew
  19. sweet pics, some really nice stuff going down there! That sidehop to back wheel onto the green thing looks mahoosive! Nice to see some pics of Tom included in there! Andrew
