No no no. You've got it all wrong. It's called the bumhole game. Replace a word in a popular film title with the word bumhole. Four Weddings and a Bumhole Alice in Bumhole Land Star Wars: Return of the Bumhole Meet The Bumholes Beauty and The Bumhole The Bumhole of Doom ...etc

I think purple would be a better idea. As far as I'm aware, there are no charities with purple wrist bands associated to them at the minute. If people see us with pink wristbands on, they will just assume that they're for breast cancer. We all know that DJ liked purple too, so why not?

Yes, the amp makes a huge difference. Deffinatly buy the Alpine one. They are really good quality, and produce excellent sound. You will need to buy a wiring kit. They can be picked up off ebay for about £10-£15. Make sure you get one that is at least rated to the same as your amp, preferably more. Don't buy the amp from Halfrauds. You can get it for £75 from here The only problem with running the amp straight off the iPod is that there is no remote wire. This is a signal that the amp needs to tell it that the headunit has been turned on. As I understand it, you are not using a headunit, therefore this signal will need to be replicated somehow. It shouldn't be too hard though. It's just a 12v source that is on for a split second.

Dj Memorial Ride Anyone? 14th May '05 Portsmouth

Wow! What a ride! I was seriously impressed with the amount of people that turned up. I was also amazed by the standard of riding. Not just from the more advanced riders (Jon and Tim were pulling some seriously good lines), but from everybody there. I was dissapointed not to be able to put a name to every face, but with the sheer amount of people there, that wasn't really suprising! Mayeb somebody could compile a list of riders from left to right on each row for the picture Mike took. I managed to take the wrong turning on the M25 on both the way there and the way back, resulting in rather large detours each way :">, as well as ripping a nice chunk out of my leg within 30 minutes of getting there. Was definatly worth the 4 hour drive to get there (Y) -

Personally I wouldn't bother with 4 speakers AND 6x9's. Either have 2 in the front, and 2 in the rear, or 2 in the front and 6x9's. As Megamomac said, running 6x9's and a sub in the boot is considered bad practise, and if you have rear speakers anyway, there's not really much point. What car do you have? Are you sure the speakers are 10cm? (that's the size of the speakers you gave a link to) Good choice on the amp though. I can vouch for it that the sound quality is ace (I have it's little brother, the 2 channel, and even that whoops ass) Sub is fine too. You'll need a box though. They retail at about £30, although I made mine from MDF for about £5. You don't really need 2 4 channel amps, its just unnessecery money spending. Personally I'd amp the front speakers on one amp, and get a dedicated sub amp (monoblock) for the sub, and run these off the preouts. You could then leave the rear speakers running off the headunit for fill-in. As I said, knowing the type of car you have would help a great deal.

Lol...nice of him to point that out to me! :- Yup, night ride sounds good :) -
1.) Correct. 2.) You don't have to, but it would sound better. Unless you get a 4 channel amp, and leave 2 speakers un-amped, then no, the amp won't power them all. 3.) Yes. 4.) 2/3/4 channel amps do exactly what they say on the tin. You can have four seperate speakers. 2 seperate speakers, and one "bridged" output (usually for a sub). Or 2 "bridged" outputs 5.) RMS (Root Mean Squared) is basically the average power the speaker can handle. Peak readings mean very little, because there is very rarely that much power going to the speaker. 6.) Yup. I hope I am too :- 7.) Have a look on http://www.incarexpress.co.uk for cheap audio goodness. I highly recommend Alpine stuff, it quite simply rocks. Feel free to add me to MSN if you want anymore help.

Woo! I shall see you guys there on the Friday night too. Me and Paul are driving up, hopefully to be there at about 7-8pm. -
What ever the price of the system is, plus say £50 for sevices and pretty much any piece of software you want.. Well within your budget though. The spec Danny posted seemed pretty spot on :-
-
I'd be up for it. I've built countless systems for people. I can put some software on there for you too :S"

I wouldn't bother with that much RAM either. There is no prgram out there that will utilise that much, and in some cases, it will slow it down. I'm with Danny on the AMD's too, I've always preferred them over Intels. DO NOT pay for Microsoft Works. It is absolute gash. You can download Open Office for free off the internet, and it is much, much better.

Set the frames to use a percentage of the window, instead of specifying a pixel value. Tut tut Stuart. For somebody doing a web designing course, you don't really have much knowledge (Y)

Because if the problems that bad, it usually is. As long as everything is backed up. I usually format my computer every six months or so anyway, its just a habit I've I've got into. The amount of crap that inevitably builds up on a computer is just stupid, and formatting it will make it seem so much faster. The majority of sound cards and graphics cards etc are supported by Windows XP anyway, so its not that much of a problem.

Oh the irony of Apollo13 having the forum guidelines in his signature! Silly boy. I think this topic has just about served it's usefullness.

Grow up. You should try being a mod one day, it's not as easy as you all seem to think it is. -
Well said Jimbo...

Good plan. I shall pop into the Police station on the way to my mates...if it's still open :P

I know it's highly unlikely that its anybody here, but I thought I'd give it a go anyway. Basically a new trials bike has turned up at my school. I was quite excited at first, because I thought there might be a new rider, so I wait around the bike sheds at lunch to see who owned it. This proper shady lad goes to the bike and unlocks it, so I go and ask him if he rides trials. He says "No, but I bought it off my mate for £100". This obviously had alarm bells ringing in my head, and immediatly concluded that it was stolen. So if anybody knows of a white Megamo Mod (Radical, I think) which has been nicked, then let me know. Here's a rough spec from what I remember: White Megamo frame Blue Maguras front and rear Pink/Red bars (Megamo I'm guessing) Front Freewheel Front wheel with axle bolts

The official rules of shotgunning clearly state that no item can be shotgunned unless it is within view (and no, taking a picture of aformentioned armchair does not count) :-" ...but what the heck, shotgun the sofa for the Friday night :P -
All the moderators and admin can upgrade people. There really is no need for anymore. I scour the new member forum each day, to see if there is anybody worth upgrading.

Right. Me and Paulos are now deffinatly driving up. We'll be leaving on the Friday night, because Portsmouth is a good 200 miles from here. Is there anywhere we can kip for the night? Would somebody be able to put us up or anything? -
Last website I built, I got paid £150 for. It wasn't anything amazing really. Depends how and what people want from the site, and how badly they want it.
