  1. 7 reports so far. This is a complete waste of time. The user has been warned.
  2. I do Me and Paul will come. Even if I have to go to his house and drag him out!
  3. Nooooo! Lowestoft on the Monday. That's the only day I can make it, and I really really want to ride. ...please?
  4. ...doesn't take much Thanks Paul, sounds really good. Who knows, I might even end up buying the bike off you if I like it enough! Looking at the sunshine totty that was at the beach yesterday lunchtime, you lads are in for a serious treat! Picking you up is a fair trade as well I guess, we'll talk about it nearer the time
  5. Lowestoft will be hot as hell though. And ladies with their breasts in bikinis. If you don't like the idea of that, then you must be largely homosexual.
  6. Just realised I'm in Leeds for that weekend I should be back sunday evening though, so might be able to make the ride on Monday. Maybe we could do Norwich then? Or even Lowestoft? If we both go on the same day, borrowing your bike would be very kind of you Paulos EDIT: By the way, you all seem to be forgetting that the Monday is a bank holiday...so all this talk of exams and stuff is just making for a crap excuse
  7. What ever posessed me to sell my bike. *grumbles* Maybe I'll pop up and do some photography. Depends on the weather. ...by the way, there is a Mc D's, KFC, and Pizza Hut all within a few feet of each other in Chapelfield, so pretty much any need is catered for.
  8. Spunky - I'm sure you can work it out from my name Georgie - got called that at work by one person, now everybody calls me it Jawgee - girlfriend calls me it when she's being cute Bib - again, girlfriend
  9. Hahaha...well you know. These things have to be done...
  10. The effect you get on a car won't be the same as the one you get on a bike frame. The whole point of the paint is that when light hits certain crystals in the paint, a certain colour is reflected. On a relitavly small surface area, such as bike frame tubes, this effect won't be as impressive as it would be on a larger surface ares, such as a car body panel. It will still work, it just won't look as good, and might not be worth the crazy price!
  11. Welcome! It's posts like this that get you validated quickly. Well thought out and well written. Enjoy your stay!
  12. I assume this is at a garage....where the people know exactly what they're doing?
  13. Yeah, but seriously Joe...you especially. You helped me out shit loads. You were a shoulder to cry on, a house to kip at, and a huge laugh to be with. Sucks to think that its not gonna happen again
  14. I'm still on here, even though I don't have a bike. I really wish I could still find the time/energy to ride, but after working 7-5, 5 days a week, exhausting yourself riding a bike is the last thing I want to be doing. Thanks for that though Paul, made me sit there and reminiss for a few minutes about the way that 4 years ago, trials was my life. The way I'd look forward to every spare minute when I could ride my bike, and learn new things. But most of all, to meet new people. If it wasn't for trials, I would have a lot less friends. And that I'm truely thankful for
  15. Same as me. I've been impressed with mine Only thing that slightly lets it down is over taking, but most diesels suffer the same. You have to just drop one gear, and keep the revs above the turbo spool up threshold, and everything is groovy. The change of driving style is quite different too. I use my gearts a lot more effectivly now, mainly because of the short power band, although the astra pulls quite well from 1.5k to 4k. Most of all though, I have noticed a huge cut on fuel costs. My old 1.6 306 did about 80 miles to a £10 serving at 89.9p, where my 2.0 astra does about 120 at a £10 serving at 93.9p. So I'm a very hapopy bunny Only downfall is they're not as fun to drive, because you can't just drop it down 2 gears and get a constant tug like a petrol, but you soon learn.
  16. My head gasket is on its last legs, and its going to cost at least £500 without parts, so I've decided to ditch the car (its a '97 1.6 petrol Peugeot 306) Been looking at new cars, and just wanted some advice/opinions/suggestions as to what to go for. Ideally I'd want something with at least the same speed/acceleration, or something faster. I've been seriously considering a diesel since i drove a 1.9 tdi focus the other day. So, yeah. Suggest away! I've got anything between £3-£4k to play with (than ks the lord for loans!) To give you an idea, I've been quite interested in Vauxhall Astras, possibly Corsas, another 306 (but I'd rather avoid the French like a plague!) Ideally it would be something low milage, sub 50k would be tasty. Fankoo.
  17. ...or just report it and let us deal with it. Emery has been warned, fear not.
  18. Lol, ok. This is assuming your running Windows XP. I'm not sure if it's the same for other operating systems. Click start-->run Type "diskmgmt.msc" without the quotes In the window at the bottom, see if you can find the camera. See if it has the same drive letter as another drive (such as a hard drive or something) If it does, right click the icon-->change drive letter and paths-->click change in the window that pops up, then change the letter to something that none of the other drives will have...such as q. Then press ok to the messages. Hopefully now you can see the camera in the My Computer screen. If not, you're screwed
  19. Does it make the USB connection noise when you plug it in? I think I might know what the problem is, if it appears to be conencted, but you can't see it
  20. Hahahaha. That site is just too funny for words!
  21. Was there really any need for all three of you to say exactly the same thing?!
  22. Auto-Mod Please use the bike pic thread, all the info you need is in the first post.
  23. What RCA cables do you have? I'm guessing cheapy ones? By the sounds of it, they don't have sufficent sheilding. Try some better shelided cables. You want to spend at least £10 on a set of RCA leads. As for the rev hunting...you need to find the stepper motor (can also be known as an idle control valve, as well as many other things, but they all mean the same thing) Anyway, this needs cleaning with something like brake cleaner, WD-40, GT-85, or something like that, basically you want to shift the crap out of it. I can't tell you exactly where it is on the Megane engine, but seeing as both our cars are French (and seeing as its the logical place to put it) it will be somewhere near throttle body. All it is, is a little motor that controls how much the throttle is held open at idle speeds. On my 306 engine, it is held on by 2 allen screws. An easy way to find it will be to look at the throttle housing, and there will be some kind of electrical plug. If you pull this plug, the engine will start revving higher and higher. Once you find this plug, you have the stepper motor Hope that's some kind of help to you
  24. Sorry to open this again, but wtf. You seriously have no idea how much myself, Tom, Danny, Mark, Jon, Dave and Andy put into this place. Trying to keep this place under control and in some kind of order. Having to put up with people adding us on MSN everyday, asking us to validate them. Getting abusive emails off people, because we have shut their topic, or said the wrong thing to/about them. Sifting through every report that somebody makes, and resolving it. It's really not that easy. I seriously think the suggestion in the SM forum about not moderating the forum for a week or so is a good idea. Then you'd see how much work we actually do, and what a mess this place would turn into. Maybe then you'd get a f**king clue, and stop being such an arse
