  1. I should hopefully be there. If Paul doesn't mind me using his bike again
  2. Its true that components won't be anywhere near there full potential without being amped. Bearing in mind the average headunit is, what, 45w per channel? That 45w MAX, so nearer about 15w RMS. Your standard, crappy speakers will be designed to run at this power. As soon as you put your component speakers in, they will be underpowered, being as they are designed to run at anything from 30-150w RMS. Whilst you won't get their full potential, you will beneifit from a much clearer sound, and being able to position the tweeter away from the woofer, providing a much better soundstage. Its always easy to add an amp in afterwards, and an amp powerful enough to power just components will be cheap as chips. I had this powering my compoents, and it was fookin awesome. So thats £70 to get 100% improved sound out of your components. It will make the bass drop lower, and just generally improve your whole listening experience. So to sum all that up, an amp isn't scrictly needed, but will greatly improve the sound of things ...how much are you looking to spend Delusional?
  3. I know, dumbass. Hence the changing of profile. It's just me in Suffolk though. There were loads of people in Norfolk. And techincally, where I live is actually Norfolk.
  4. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/AUTOLEADS-SAK-3001-V...1QQcmdZViewItem Not as cheap as mine, but better than £13.99.
  5. Try to get the adaptors off ebay. Will be much cheaper. They are such a rip off for what you actually get. I managed to pick mine up for £4.99 instead of £13.99 just by looking around. And Lexus lights ARE gay I'm afriad Lee, no doubt about it. They're soooo last year. And every other gimp has them.
  6. Yup, if you're just upgrading the front I doubt it even has rear speakers?
  7. No idea, I've not done a Corsa before. I needed them on my Astra, and thats kinda similar, so I guess so, yeah.
  8. I don't mind doing it if you want. I'm nearer than Paul, and I put his in his Cav for him anyway
  9. http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_in...roducts_id=5126 £59.99 + http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_in...roducts_id=3823 £109.99 =£168 plus P+P Seriously, you won't get much better for that price.
  10. Dude, seriously, get a decent headunit. Anything made by Panasonic, JVC, Sony etc will be far inferior.
  11. Ditch the amp and 6x9 package. Trust me, its a waste of time. The amp, maybe, but not the 6x9's. Spend AS MUCH on the headunit as you can afford. When I blew up my Alpine headunit, I had to use a shitty Sony one, and the difference between the two is quite unbelievable. My system sounds like complete toss on the Sony headunit, yet sounded pretty damn good on the Alpine. http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/product_in...roducts_id=3823 Thats the model I had. Was £180 when I got it, and was worth every penny. Its now £109, and wouldn't bat an eyelid at paying that for it again. 3 pre-outs (front, rear, and sub), equaliser, 45w per channel. Its a damn fine piece of equipment. Think of it as an investment. You will transfer the headunit from car to car, where as, chances are, you'll leave the speakers in each car (be it because you've cut a big hole in the parcel shelf for your 6x9's, or your new car doesn't have the same size door speakers) Get a headunit, then look at upgrading your front speakers. Components if possible, but anything is better than standard. I have these, and they are also very good. Then look at getting an amp. Try to buy from reputable brands, such as JL Audio, Alpine, Infinity, JBL. All of the stuff in my car is from these manufacturers, and once I get my headunit back, it will again kick ass! Its just this pile of shit Sony headunit that's holding it back. Trust me Lee. I've been there and done that with cheap systems. Buy cheap, buy twice.
  12. Anybody up for a Norwich ride. I know there was a few guys from Sherrignham that came up a couple of weeks ago, was quite a good ride. Anybody up for it this weekend?
  13. I saw it on Monday night. I was thouroughly impressed. Probably go so far as to say it was one of the best films I've seen this year. You're right though, it is very confusing...especially at the end. You think you finally understand, then WHAM! I'm gonna go see it again, mostly because I enjoyed it so much, but also because I think I need to to totally understand it!
  14. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fiat-Punto-Mk2-1999-...1QQcmdZViewItem Try that for the front bumper £47 inc delivery. Its not some chavvy piece of crap, so shouldn't need any fabrication. Doesn't really matter about colour either, 'cos it will need to be sprayed anyway. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FIAT-PUNTO-BONNET-19...1QQcmdZViewItem Brand new bonnet. £106 inc delivery. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fiat-Punto-front-sla...1QQcmdZViewItem I think this will fit. Slam panel and radiator mounting. At £9.99 plus £14.99 delivery. Expect it to go up to about £50. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FIAT-PUNTO-60-MK2-19...2QQcmdZViewItem Radiator. £75 inc delivery. So thats pretty much everything you need. Bumper - £47 Bonnet - £106 Slam panel ~£60 Radiator - £75 Thats £288 ish. Leaving you about £200 for a spray job/labour. Most of it you could do yourself in all honesty. There's nothing difficult about changing a radiator. ...some would say that was a lot more helpful than other peoples' posts!
  15. Yes...but it's hardly the right place to say it in a thread to try and help Joe fix his car is it?
  16. There was probably something wrong with the electrics. Don't forget...its a fiat! Might want to get the looked at though, if it doesn't go off in a more serious accident, you could end up a bit mangled. Don't forget, I speak from experience here! Slam panel is the bit right at the front of the car that various parts attach to. It also reinforces the front of the car, and MUST be replaced after a front impact. Aftermarket bumpers for any less than £100 will be shit fibreglass things that need mounts fabricated (which will raise the cost even more) Try to get a genuine bumper if you can. EDIT: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Fiat-Punto-Mk2-1999-...1QQcmdZViewItem Try that for the front bumper £47 inc delivery. Its not some chavvy piece of crap, so shouldn't need any fabrication. 17. You'll need a new slam panel as well by the looks of things. So add that to the list of things you'll need: Bumper Bonnet Radiator (you'll 95% certainly need one) Slam panel Spray job If you're the right side of £500, I'd be very, very suprised. I'd say the paint job itself will be pushing £200. The bonnet and front bumper are two of the largest areas to spray on a car, and considering I've been getting quotes of £60 to spray a spoiler, I don't think an estimate of £200 would be far out. Do not buy the radiator second hand, whatever you do. All the other stuff, fair enough. Although I would still be hesitant about ripping a slam panel off a crashed car...you never know what forces have resulted on the chassis because of an impact. Best thing to do is get a quote...and slow down!
  18. Square holes will make the stress put on the rim concentrate on each of the four corners of the square rather than spread out over the whole circular shape. Thus causing a stress riser. That's why its advised to drill a small hole at either end of a crack in a frame, because the circular shape at the end of the shape makes it a lot harder for the crack to spread, as opposed to the sharp, pointy nature of a line. But I doubt on a rim, it will make that much difference, seeing as there are so many holes to begin with, the stress will be spread out a bit more.

  21. I totally didn't see the name after the picture of Bruce. Q. How much of a dick do I feel? A. Larger than your average.
  22. Prime Minister? I know I'm good...but I don't think I quite deserve that!
  23. I LOVE that girl. Her name in Elin Grindemyr. She is hot as mustard. ...I think you'll find I actually win.
