  1. Congratulations Steve and Tracy. Glad to hear everything went ok (eventually!) Lets hope little Callum welcomes him into the Spurgeon family! Good luck for the future
  2. The Starting Line - Ready...reminds me of driving with my ex. We always used to sing along to it. Still makes me think of her Something Corporate - Konstantine...as with everybody else - DJ. Still sends shivers down my spine whenever I hear it. System of a Down - Chop Suey..."Toxicity" by the Trialskings was probably the main reason I got into trials, still makes me want to ride, even now, 4 years on! Lost Prophets - Last Train Home...reminds me of one of the best summers I ever had, and is, without a shadow of a doubt, an awesome song N Trance - Set You Free - Just makes me think of clubbing and parties. It will never stop being a classic dance choooooon!
  3. Probably. Meant to be having a "gathering" at Paul's tonight, so not sure how well we'll be feeling, lol.
  4. That's not strictly true. In first gear, by the time the boost has kicked in, you have to change gear. Same for second, although you get a wee bit more time. I would say third is probably the ideal gear, 'cos you get the pull of the turbo, as well as the acceleration from the lower gearing. That's why dyno testing is always carried out in the higest gear, because thats where the most torque is developed. Unless you've actually driven a turbo'd car, it's hard to explain.
  5. He's under no obligation to sell it to you. No money changed hands, you've not been ripped off; he just didn't want to sell it to you. You'll just have to get over it I'm afraid. You obviously have his MSN or some other form of contact, so why not ask him yourself?
  6. Yup yup. I was "borrowing" it. And kind of broke it, lol.
  7. Normally, I would lock something as stupid as this. But you deserve all the shit you get as far as I'm concerned. Why do you HAVE to drink? Do you HAVE to be drunk to have a good time?! Do you really suck that much?! This is probably THE most stupid post on trials-forum of 2006. Congratulations.
  8. If he was an "enthusiast", he really wouldn't be doing that to his car. Those rear lights are probably the worst thing you can do to a Focus. I understand people wanting to be different from the norm, but thats taking things a bit far. Although I guess its down to personal taste. Just not really the kind of thing you'd excpect a dad to do! Regarding no claims, it really does make a difference. My first year of driving, I had a '97 1.6 litre Peugeot 306 (group 5). It cost me £1200 TPF&T - no NCB Second year of driving, I had a '99 Vauxhall Astra 2 litre turbo diesel (group 5). It cost £900 fully comp - 1 year no claims Third year of driving, I've still got the Astra, its costing me £450 fully comp. I'm still only 20, so at the moment, age doesn't really come into it. I'm glad my parents wouldn't let me anywhere near there insurance, 'cos I would be paying about £2-300 now, if I was on their policy, but as soon as I came off, I'd be back to paying over £1k, something that would really screw people over.
  9. ...its Norfolk Paul. I'm actually your son.
  10. Doesn't matter if it doesn't. The current certificate doesn't run out until the 22nd
  11. I think its just the idea of doing something different John. As Wayne said, nobody really expects anything from a van, where as if you pull up in a car thats well known for being quick, people are already going to presume you've got something to show, and as such, won't be so impressed. I don't know the exact details of Wayne or Bucky's setups, but to buy the engines and literally do a straight swap doesn't actually cost that much if you do it all yourself. Wayne's is only more expensive 'cos he's literally using the best he can get, ie FK coilovers, GSI front bumper etc.
  12. I'm really rather loking forward to it to... BUT ...clever me has gone and booked my MOT for Friday. Once I realised this, I told the bloke in the garage, and he said he'd have it done by 10:30, so hopefully I shouldn't be too late.
  13. As said in the other post, I'll be there for sure. I'm gonna go mental this ride. And I'm not going to smash my knee like last time!
  14. I'm there with bells on! Might even wear my Santa hat again
  15. I can't remember what she looked like. I've had worse, trust me.
  16. Thats too frustrating.
  17. I love Paul like one of my own. He is my love child.
