You can clock the compressor housing a touch to gain a bit of room to the inlet, but don't go too far, because it will then hit the bulkhead. You'll also need a "strategic dent" around the steering column knuckle bulge in the bulkhead

Best mate's garage has just invested quite heavily in a 5-axis CNC machine, pillar drill, lathe, and mill. It's sent my creativeness into overdrive! I really want this 362mm 2-piece setup on the front of the Audi, but it's £1150. I reckon I can make my own for about £650 using AP Racing rotors, or £450 using Reyland. Fire up the CAD!

Nope. Shed loads of clearance. It's actually been raised since that picture anyway, that was just after the coilovers were fitted. Anyway, genuine only for this Having been in several WRX STIs, "stupid fast" is not how I would describe them (very very nearly bought one a few years back). Quick, yes...but I wouldn't class 300bhp in a 1390kg car "stupid", it's 219bhp per ton. 500bhp+ is "stupid fast" Sucks about the keys. I'd be more worried how they got in to get the keys in the first place though! Do you think maybe it's somebody who knows you?

I would personally. Fit as many as you possibly can. High level for general light, then on the walls for light at a usable height. Fitting a new board is probably a good shout. Some of the welding sockets and heavy motors may need a C or D type breaker, which if you have a random board make, may be difficult to source. Sounds like its going to be fairly "domestic" in the sense of its use, so probably wouldn't worry too much about a 3 phase board etc, just extra added cost. Should be able to swing by at some point, yeah.

It'll be a shit load of work, but worth it in the end! As you said, access, and a level floor are the main priorities. Its such a dick to get in and out of...get that sorted and you're halfway there. Natural light is good, but you have to then accept that every window/skylight is then a potential security flaw. LED lighting is good, but you get lots of shadows from it because of the light. Biggest issue electrical wise will be the loading if you are planning to use lots of power hungry tools (ramp, welder, lathe etc). Obviously I am happy to pop over and have a look though (from memory there is just a domestic single phase board in there?) Concentrate on making the area as open as you can with RSJ's etc to maximise the floor space, and flat so its all one level so you can maneuver about as you wish. I agree with changing the use of the "back room" to a tool/office area. It is too compromised access wise as it is. The ramp in and out is a nightmare, and the opening is too small to comfortably get a decent sized vehicle in. Hook me up when you're home and I'll pop over and have a look/beer.

Absolutely mullered an E92 M3 last night on the way home from a car show in Birmingham. Had him once off a roundabout, once on a 3rd-6th gear pull, and then he tried a sneaky stab a few miles down the road, but caught him in my rear view mirror coming in quick, so dropped down to 4th and planted it, and he then never actually passed. Not bad considering they are 414bhp. Was quite shocked in all honesty, thought they would be quicker than that. He was 100% trying as well, could hear it and smell it, and it was chucking all sorts of bits out of the exhaust while was pushing him from behind haha.

Yeah, would never have cheap coilovers again. Done it once, but the difference between the cheap ones and the expensive ones is huge.

So I accidentally just a full 32 way damper adjustable coilover kit with camber plates for the S3. Oops!

Last one I did looked like this: Wasn't a very happy motor! After it shat itself all over my floor, I wasn't very happy either! If you've caught it in time before its damaged the casings, you should be able to just fit a replacement CHRA.

Yeah, looks like dead turbo

I've fitted 5 PD turbos to various cars...all of them have snapped shafts. THey must be seriously wank turbos. They all end up with litres of oil in the intercooler pipework...very messy!

Repeat as necessary

Or spray easy start around the pipework, if it revs, there's a leak. Check all the bayonet joints, the are notoriously rubbish

Ah yes! Poor thing jumped out at me on a 60mph road, stood no chance. Stopped and went back to check it, and it was still alive, but totally mangled...so decided the best thing was to drive over it again (it wouldn't let me get anywhere near it to do it humanely). Didn't have a collar or anything on, so couldn't even find the owners to let them know

Done it several times. Quite often get rabbits in the garden in summer moth mixi. A swift crack to the head does the trick. I hit a deer in my work van a few years back. Hit it so hard it bent all the radiator etc, and left the poor thing in a bad way. Knew I had to kill it to put it out of its misery. Looked in my van for the most suitable tool, I had either a hammer, a knife, or a hacksaw. I chose the hammer, and clouted it several times as hard as I could between the eyes. Killed it the first time for sure, but the twitching afterwards made it appear alive still, so gave it a few more for good measure. I would have looked like an absolute mad man had anybody driven past, but fortunately it was on a quiet country lane. I'd have no reservations about putting an animal that was in obvious untreatable pain out of its misery.
