  1. Might be an idea. I just use it as an excuse to come in for a coffee every hour and to thaw out...not getting a great deal done though
  2. In my younger years I f**ked a girl in a skirt sat on a train, quite a busy one at that. Mad skills. Trying to finish off the wiring on my car, but it's FREEZING!!! Need to wear gloves, but then it's too cack-handed with the fiddley bits. Without gloves my fingers are like icicles. Woe is me
  3. Luke, I have an LCR airbox here which I modified to fit a Jetex cone filter in...save yourself the hassle and swing me £15 and it's yours
  4. I have to rev match every down shift or my clutch skwarks because of the friction material. Makes me look like a badass too, obviously
  5. They are SO easy to break into with the key barrel in place, the idea behind blanking it off is that it cant be broken into quite so easily.
  6. ...and its got totally different wheels, and bumpers?
  7. I guess it depends what you class as "loads of work". As far as I was aware with the S3, you fitted bucket seats, and changed the steering wheel, and poly filled the engine mounts? Meh, I just like arguing
  8. Jardo...you don't "make cars good". You buy them modified, say they are the best car ever, take all the glory for them, then sell them on at a loss. You did it with the first A3, the second A3 (although not so much that, because I guess you steered Lou into doing it), and the S3...and pretty much all the other cars you have owned. Don't be a glory hunter
  9. Only slight issue with then is the tax band I agree though, they are gorgeous!
  10. Next year I want a new car. Will have £10-15k to spend. Quite keen to try a BMW 335i, or a 335d...something along those lines. It will have to be *reasonably* sensible (no Supras/Skylines/RX7's etc) because I dare say kids will be on the scene before too long. Looking for suggestions really. So far I've looked at lots of 3 series's, A4's, S4's, A5's, S5's...so something of a similar ilk. I won't do too much modifying on this one (famous last words!), probably just a stage 1 map, and possibly an aftermarket exhaust system. Other than that, I need to find a new hobby!
  11. I hope you're not the same with houses as you are with cars...
  12. To be fair, once the pipes are on, it doesn't go anywhere. I'm just trying to do it all properly while its in this many bits! You are correct though, the crash bar will support the intercooler, and looks like it will also line up with the oil cooler too (through luck more than judgement! The cooler is solid as it is, but the more fixing points the better I guess )
  13. Its a bit floppy, I'm just waiting on the crash bar to come from the courier. Once the crash bar is on, it will be nice and sturdy
  14. AMK coded engines don't have SAI I'm used to the comments on Facebook, there's always somebody on there who thinks they know better! Unfortunately for him it turns out he didn't. Just because you do something as a job, doesn't mean you are always automatically right. All that kicked off over this one picture (my new alloy radiator, intercooler and oil cooler all squeezed into the front panel...a lot more work than it looks!): Started out life like: Resulting in this :
  15. It's been stage 1 mapped, so yeah, it won't hang around
  16. Still think it's the oil cooler, I should think the coolant will get shitted up again fairly quickly
  17. R-Bizzle got an absolute f**king steal today...very impressed!
  18. Then you must shit yourself.
  19. R-Bizzle, what makes you think its the head gasket? They don't typically fail on 1.8t's. If there's oil in the coolant, its more likely to be the oil cooler/heat exchanger on top of the oil filter. They are a pretty common point of failure, and give symptoms which a lot of people associate with head gasket failure. Could be onto a real winner if its just that!
  20. Ford are stupid, keyless shafts are a retarded idea. I've done plenty of cambelts, but doing my friends Fiesta made me very nervous! Not done a 1.9cdti engine before, but if there are locking tools, use them, and you should be ok. I'm sure a man of your caliber can manage
  21. Can't beat spending a load of money modifying a car then selling it straight after
  22. I can come any day of the week, because I don't have a shit job
  23. Mine might not be ready by then, but at least this gives me a bit of a kick up the bum to try to get it done! Let me know when the deposits are needed and I'll wing it over. Are we going to do a "full" list on first come first served, and then a "reserves" list if anybody drops out?
