It'll never be good enough, or cheap enough

Paul, save yourself hassle later down the line - replace that clear hose with proper silicone vacuum hose. The clear stuff is nothing more than aquarium hose. When it gets warm it's goes mega soft and will suck the walls in

What an awesome read, well done for writing it instead of sleeping. Maybe CB radios would be an idea?

f**king lol. Mark is a hero

If they are fitted, they must work. They are not fitted. MOT pass

Had a few laps on Saturday at Snetterton (in the snow, haha!) in a Exige S. We followed a racing liveried MX-5 around for a while, not much in the corners between the 2, but killed it on the straights. RWD is so much better for the track, going in the Exige really opened my eyes that I may well be wasting an awful lot of time and money on my over-powered shopping trolley

For the first time in 6 months, I started my engine...and it ran!!! Sounds like a drag car because there is nothing off the turbo, but it works. Soooooo chuffed! Even though I knew I had double checked everything, it's still a heart in the mouth moment when you first start it after a rebuild! I'm on the home straight now

Can have my old setup if you want it? Literally rip everything out and stick the pipes on. Got a 19mm bung for the TIP too. Pipe off the rocker and pipe off the crankcase enter a Y piece, which then goes to a single bit which drops by the gearbox. Oil resistant pipe, JCS Hi-Grip clamps...ooosch. £12 posted to you squire Can't buy it as cheap as that, plus it's all cut to size already...easy work
-
Just vent to atmosphere. I did it for years with no issues. It was only when I did a track day that I had issues with the oil coming up out of the pipe work...wouldn't happen on a road car though

I use a 7 instead of a 6 in mine. 210bhp standard, 350bhp on the last turbo. Aiming for 370+ and have no intentions of changing plugs

...and then when she does come home, she doesn't even want to live with you anyway, she wants to live at her parents. Sorry dude, but I agree with the others, Being away for 6 months has probably opened her eyes, and she has seen the "enlightenment" that all the people that go travelling seem to yap on about. She probably wants to live in the rainforest and travel around on a bicycle made of bamboo or some shit like that. Love is blind, as they say. -

She sounds like a massive hassle. f**k that. -
Later the better for me. If my cars not done, can I borrow somebody else's?

Pretty sure Paul has some of those hydraulic ones? He seems to rate them

Ahhhh...makes sense. It's basically a chocolate spoon/wedding favour kinda business, run in the kitchen of somebody's house. There is no way in the world its has 20,000 likes. If you look at the page statistics, the likes flat line throughout the month, then suddenly spike up on one day each month. Don't really understand why she does it!
-
Not really angry as such, but this is from a friend's Facebook business page. Is it just me, or is it hugely obvious that they have just paid to have shit loads of likes?!
-
March sounds a bit more achievable for me too. Very doubtful it will be mapped, but I should be able to limp around on actuator pressure (probably still 300bhp ish )
-
Maybe set a date as late as possible, and stick to it. Even if I can't drive, I'm sure Mr Oliver will be my chauffer
-
Will be very hit and miss as to whether I'll be ready too, but I'll see what I can do. Annoyingly I am probably 90% done, but left with all the shitty little jobs now, and they are the ones that take forever to do!
-
For the job it is to install the clutch, flywheel and slave cylinder, I wouldn't be fitting second hand items...but that may be just me.
-
6 speed boxes are normally ~£200...so maybe £250-£300 for the gearbox, starter motor, shifter, the shift cables, the linkages and the drive shafts. You also need a new flywheel, clutch and slave cylinder. The power steering pipework needs altering slightly too, but normally it can just be bent to shape by hand.

Knowing Jardo, it's probably not even his...

Putting the last piston back in my block and a bit off the 2nd compression ring crumbles away. Fuuuuuuuck sake. That stops any hopes of getting the engine build completed over Christmas
