i'm working on the sound system. ive used crap small speakers earlier. they do not overpower loads of shouting and or proper speaker systems, but they make sound, and can be hooked up to any 3.5mm cords.. they're also integrateable in my bag, with all the cords hidden.. but if anyone has anything, and i mean anything better, bring it instead. it'll strip weight off my baggage, which is GOOD. :blink:

the chain spins even if you don't pedal. :blink: it's hypnotising and soothing.

connect a cycle pump to one of those clear tubes you get with the magura bleed kit. then connect it to the magura, and start pumping. oil will shoot out of the other end of the system (if you removed both bleed bolts of course, as usual) and pump a fair bit until you can see no spray of oil. connecting it to air lines at a workshop is even better, and pretty fun too! then just bleed through it a few times and lots of crap will come out of the other end. then fill her up as usual.

Hey guys.. I'm coming over to England in a week! I'll be staying for about two weeks, over at Tic's's's's in Salisbury (as little as possible, camping etc in other places).. I'm bringing my bike, so we figured I'd post here.. We have a basic plan here, with empty dates for things like Porthcawl, Bristol, Poole, etc... so if you want a piece of Swedish meat, i will be at these places at these times.. i guess ill update in the thread when dates/places are definite! 6th - I arrive in the evening.. 7th - Ride close to Salisbury 8th - NASS 9th - NASS 10th - NASS 11th 12th 13th 14th 15th 16th 17th - London, since it is a sunday! 18th 19th - I leave...

whenever my drivetrain makes stupid noises it ruins my riding. I CANT FOCUS if the bike wont stfu. last summer, my cranks creaked. it was soo f**king disturbing. i cant believe how people actually manage to ride if their bikes feel funny, ie play in parts, creak, noises etc. my freewheel is full of dirt, never lubed or serviced. as long as you don't kick the pedal like crazy, you're fine. it makes fabulous sounds, and never skips. the other day, i could remove the lockring by only turning it 1/4 of a turn. that's how loose it was. freewheel was fine though. >_< i cant believe how people blow their freewheels up.

norway is just expensive and they speak funny, haha! >_< sweden is pretty decent. quite good natural if you look for a bitty. also, nicer weather than our 'special' neighbours norway >_< riding in other countries is always fun. finding new things in new places, riding terrain that you haven't before.

and as we know, fasion RULES... i tighten my ACS everytime i ride, before, during and after the ride. when i feel it's clicking when pedalling, i know it's tightening time. I jam a key in the small hole and just press the lockring a bit and it screws on a wee bit. i really should loctite/weld it but i cant be assed. ffw is cheaper. acs freewheel + deore hub is like 30 quid maximum. and if you've got screw on cranks, you're sorted.

the 2004 was 1065mm. this will probably be around this length aswell.

I run Tensile cranks with ACS freewheel and welded Deore hub. Apart from the fact that the bearings suck ass in the Deore, the other parts are fine. The freewheel doesn't skip, and works well. ACS is underestimated freewheels, I used one for over a year with NO maintenance at all.. Fit and forget. I'd maybe wait for the hope trials hub whenever that comes out. I am pretty sure I will, and go down to a 16t cog on the front.

have you actually ridden a crescent ilions for a longer period of time? they're actually really durable. flexy does not mean snap-happy (as you said about u6). mine broke, but then again, it was three or four years old, ridden by at least two people. Gurra has ridden his ilions for THREE years now, and the previous owner ragged the frame t'fook, and it's still intact. It's the 2000 model, which means 4 1/2 years old now, and still not a crack! Kleivard breaks his frames too.. A lot of them. Just 'cos he's smooth doesn't mean he puts loads of pressure in the frame. And for the record, Kleivard rides the french C frame now, with Kleivard stickers. :D For the average rider though, they're perfectly fine. They're not as snap happy as the Echo frames of the same generation, even though the Crescent is lighter. It's the perfect BIU comp frame.

the point with a grind is that you should have good braking in all weathers. smearing tar on doesn't really help the wet-weather performance eh? if you want tar, you don't need grind. if you need tar on your grind, you did it wrong. there are better uses for vodka than rim cleaning. use something non-consumeable to clean the rim with instead. :D

ridden much natural? enter intermediate, and after looking at sections, most organizers will let you move up to Expert if you feel like the intermediate sections are too easy. I've been riding for about three years, but only natural for one, and I ride expert.

allemansrätt is basically a law saying that you may spend the night on private property without being kicked off. ie you're not allowed to shoot someone or do anything to them if they're on your property, you're only allowed to ask them to leave basically.

first, bleed from one slave to the lever. then from the other slave to the lever. they're ok. i dont use one though.

go faster and you'll get up. i know the feeling. ;)
