  1. dx32 is the most popular trials rim in sweden. over here, they're not too hard to find, 26" eyeletted. undrilled of course. they're the best rims ever, my drilled one was good until i ground the sidewalls too thin, getting my new hub built to another dx32.. surely there should be an alex rim importer in england?!
  2. SKF (Svenska Kullagerfabriken) make the best bearings ever, so their BB's should be pretty good.. Axles on ISIS bottom brackets are all steel btw, but I expect the SKF bb's to be of higher quality than fsa or similar.

    What Viscosity?

i used a pump to blow all the oil and stuff out. bleed through a few times with tap water and you'll get the manky crap from the seals off. then just bleed it. also, bleeding with water is a 5 minute job. also, not messy at all, after all, it's just water!
  4. Less than 2 months before they're totally worn down is not very good. They may work very well (only tried Konigs briefly on Tic's bike) but wear rate could still be improved lots. If you have the time/patience/money to replace pads every other month or even more frequently, that's fine. But if you could choose between a pad that worked well, and one that worked a little less awsome, but lasted 4 times longer, which would you choose? I've been running some Plazmatic pads now for about 6 months. They have worn down about 3 millimetres. I grind my rim frequently aswell, deep and sharp grinds. I'm not trying to slate the Heatsink pads, as I had good experiences with the batch A pads.
  5. varies. some times i run 20 and rim out all over the place, and other times i run 40-50 psi on the same things. both street and natural. i tend to try and keep it over 25 psi mostly, and have started running front tyre at the same for taps and shizz.
  6. as long as you grind away a bit of the lever blade on the 2005 ones, so that you get more lever travel, they're OK.
  7. less pad roll. gurra should know, he has had the best brake ive ever felt. it's shit now though, but thats cos of the pads, isnt it gurra? (Y)
  8. I don't think you can compare Ashton Bikes and CoustUK. Ashton has his own frame, designed by him and made for him. He has a team of riders. Danny imports frames from other people. Martyn sells frames to companies like Danny's (but not Danny's shop in this case). Not the same.
  9. they're repainted echo team forks as far as i know. if you don't mind 5-piece ones, get the onza smartguys.
  10. A - As I lay Dying - 94 Hours B - Bullet for my valentine - Cries in vain C - Cradle Of Filth - Her Ghost In The Fog D - D12 - How come E - Electric Light Orchestra - Mr. Blue Sky (Y) F - Farse - Broken Record
  11. after you've learnt manuals, wheelies seem hard. I can't wheelie my bike for shit but can manual it forever.
  12. use a different converter. to convert to divx etc, use VirtualDub. To convert to mpg, use TMPGEnc. Both are free and very good.

    Silent Brakes

for me, silent brake is usually one with the pads adjusted badly, ie wonky and not hitting the rim with all the pad. not always the case, but most often. silent brakes are lovely, i agree.

  15. back of tesco, sainsburys etc.
  16. i don't mind rain, wind or snow much. well, I don't head out in the pouring rain to ride unless I'm very determined. Practising taps on wet, slimy edges with a slippy brake is good technique practise. Rails are fun aswell. Snow is a completely different matter though. It is pretty fun if it's only a few inches, but if it's too deep (1 ft and more) your rim will get covered in it, which will turn into ice when you brake, (well, first liquid water, then ice) which makes your brake non-existant, which is dangerous. Riding in snowstorms is fun fun fun. Except that it gets REALLY cold really quickly. Also, I don't mind riding comps in the rain at all. I'd rather have sun and drought, but wet sections are more challenging, and getting wet/muddy is pretty fun. :wink2:
  17. 3-4 times a week mostly. 60-100 minute rides. getting dull.
  18. clean bars, clean grips, compressed air or just plain force.

  20. let the long 26" vs. short 24" comp round 2 begin. i kind of tied with paul, seeing as he didnt do the blue rail to wall on the high part in soton.
  21. your bike is too light, james. it's unfair.
  22. that apple and pork sandwich did seem pretty tasty at the time.
  23. yeah, a few spacers will be OK. they're nice forks, good pick.
  24. echo urbans creak. it pissed me off enough to buy a set of smartguys. brillian forks btw, might be a bit short for you but they seem good...
