  1. SKF is the shit. I cycle by their factory every day on the way to work.
  2. King bearings last forever. It's good that it's easy to find replacements, I presume King bearings are completely impossible to get hold of from anywhere but King, and their prices are probably sky-high aswell.

    Tra's First Video

1.78 kg. Pretty light. Rode beautifully. Haven't seen this vid in ages.
  4. That was probably the worst comparison ever...
  5. Vee mounts, vertical dropouts, a little tucked up tab for rohloffs, properly designed paint jobs and stickers (not just one colour and some text from dafont.com). Oh and more frames under 2kg.
  6. Forgotten about the Echo ES series of frames? Ti bolts are weaker than steel bolts. I'm pretty sure you could get better quality bolts cheaper than the tryalls, but people are lazy and buy shitty generic products at prices set way too high. All companies do it. I'm a Koxx fanboy myself, but I wouldn't be able to afford one of their frames unless I stopped eating for 3 months...
  7. Echo was deng's original brand. (addition:): He also sold components alongside the Echo frames under the name of Adamant, which he later started making frames and other stuff under. Then he created Zoo, which was his low budget line of frames. He started out with a copy of a Koxx Levelboss 26", and a copy of the Monty X-Lite. Frames were called Boa and Lynx, but I can't remember which was which. I think the Boa was the 26". Then he made a half-assed copy of the Coustellier frame called the Pitbull, which has evolved into something not as coust-esque. The release of the Pitbull made the Coustelliers very angry, and they nearly sued. Then after selling loads of zoo and echo frames, deng released a boatload of companies, as mentioned, gu, czar, etc...

    My 18th Bday

bouncy castle rules. my 18th was ok. was in england at the time, rode all day. then fatmike pulled my front brake going down a hill, he sent me straight over the bars. we were going at a fairly good pace aswell. i will never forgive him.
  9. Onza Hognesium = Echo Magnesium = NC-17 Magnesium = Wellgo MG-1. Nice cycle btw.
  10. Tucking = not having to lift the BODY as high as not tucking = saving energy? I dunno. Looks ok, but an effortless non-tucked sidehop ala dani comas is cooler. I tuck sometimes. I don't really sidehop much...

    What Rims?

And the whole "tryall rims need to be ground every other ride" is bollocks too. Get some pads "designed" around tryall rims and you'll be fine. My rim needs grinding 2-3 times a year with Coust pads... And the only way I can tell the grind is getting worse is the wet weather performance, they're still mint in the dry.
  12. Marco Blau (vtcz.ch) put threads on hollowtech cranks years and years ago. I believe he used a lathe, mounted the crank and machined the spider thingy off. (this post expresses my opinion and does not express the opinion of the company i work for, silly work.)
