  1. hmm.. the shop may have written the value correctly on the customs sticker you have to put on the box. if that's the case, you can't do anything but to pay up, which sucks. the way i learnt you have to do is to mark the parcel as a gift or commercial sample, and declare a REALLY low value. Anything under a tenner is safe. This means the insurance only covers that value though, so if the parcel is lost you lose out on a lot of money if it's something expensive.
  2. because the guy who made the thingy based it off the weights given on the tartybikes website.
  3. yeah the echo pure spraycan is pretty cool. i think it was on some funny colour like pink i saw it on, with the bike having nothing of that colour.
  4. http://www.geocities.com/gibrancurtiss/wheightcalculator.htm this link actually works. it's a cross post from otn by the way.
  5. The gift marking doesn't help if the declared value is too high. Is the package from a shop? Is the item in its original box? Does the parcel contain any reciept or anything that states the value of the item?
  6. PM Endohopper. He's Dutch.
  7. I uploaded it for Endohopper a while ago. Maybe should have let the rest of the forum know but you found it...
  8. Completely different story though. I think the aidz can't be cured with an operating system. i like macs, but what REALLY grinds my gears is the finder. the way it doesn't arrange files and folders how i want it to. i want the detailled list, and i want the folders at the top in alphabetical order, then the files in order. just like windows. the f**king finder treats the folders just like files and adds them to the mix. = pain in the ass.
  9. pedobear! i used to have a shot from the film Pi. will probably change back to it some day.
  10. This is exactly what the bb7 manual suggests btw.
  11. Because Windows is a COMPLETELY different operating system altogether. So many things are different underneath the GUI, which in Vista is very pretty looking and probably very functional, much like OSX. There are so many things that Windows can do that OSX can't, and there is lots more software made for Windows users. Also, normal PCs can't run osx. If they could, I'm pretty sure more people would use it, but if PC users really want, they can just get unix/linux, which is what osx is built upon.
  12. looks shit hot. stop making me want to go back to rear vee, i loved the lock but hated the lack of bite when running it on the back of my crescent in.. err.. 2003?
  13. and that was in 00/01 somewhen I presume, looking at the release date of os 10.0...

  16. Salmon is not red, it's more orange. Salmon pwns red. I've personally never owned salmons. I always used BBB Veestop pads, they work really well and are silent.
  17. but then one of the million mac blogs would find the site, and then macrumors would report on it and then steve jobs would invite to a keynote and all the fanboys would wet their trousers, and then people would leak the beta version of the virus and then they would make a dashboard widget out of it and then it'll be all for nothing! bored at work. it's a friday.
  18. disc is on the wrong way around. Looks pretty cool..
  19. Boon. Watched his old nailsea videos so many times when I was just getting into trials. Know pretty much all of them by heart, what songs and what moves. He does a few lines in his first videos that I'm pretty sure I still wouldn't want to do/couldn't do. I do prefer his style riding more trialsy trials over his more bmxy style, but whatever floats his boat...
  20. but you need a mac to work on if you want to make a virus for a mac. and as macs are only owned by fanboys and complete noobs*, the virus maker would have to buy a mac. and then he'd become a fanboy and not make the virus. *facts based on stereotype. yeah, eventually someone will make a virus. But I suppose the Apple lads and lasses would be very quick with a fix for it. Thing is, lots of the virus/spyware comes with dodgy apps. None of these dodgy apps are avaliable for macs, and will probably never be as it's too much of an effort. But i definitely agree that someone will make mac viruses some day.
  21. I!!!! definitely!!!! agree!!!!
  22. Big important companies and 'ordinary' people still use PCs though. Nobody can be bothered to write viruses that only work on 10%* of computers worldwide, and only affecting the mac fanboys or artsy fartsy people. Then again, someone might be tempted to write a virus just to f**k with the fanboys but I'm not too sure. *Everywhere I looked it said that the Macintosh market share is 5-15%.
  23. The problem with needle bearing is that they can't take axial loads very well or at all. Meaning they'll just fall apart. Generally speaking, you could use one ball bearing and one needle bearing for example. Ball bearing holds everything together, and the needle bearing can take up more radial load than a ball bearing of the same size.
  24. Well, I used lockons for a few years. Never managed to have them play-free. Tried twisting and locking etc, only worked for a short while. And when I landed a gap the little tabs in the grip snapped off. I do agree that they're very convenient though, easy to change and don't slip.
