  1. UCI is great on short frames  I personally wouldn't mind trying out a long frame for a few months or what not, but I'm happy with my super short ilions... Just got the hang of tapping, hehe. I try to ride UCI and lycra style, but hey, I can pop manual aswell ;) I like the twitchy feeling of my ilions.
  2. Probably laid back, friendly, supportive and nice to talk to? heh, I dunno.
  3. Don't you mean the Kemical video (ie video comp entry)? :P I have it on my HDD, I do the same really, but I don't put a rag between my foot and the hub.
  4. Vee brake: Plazmatic CRV pads - expensive, price varies from shop to shop, check eztrials Extremely grabby on clean rims, modulate a fair bit on ground rims, last a fair while if not dragged, rubber is very thin, backing is really fat. Metal backings, red or yellow rubber (depends on the shop, the trialsin' shop in Canada stocks the red ones if the red floats your boat). Plazmatic V-fly pads - cheaper than CRV, check eztrials. Grabby on ground rims, modulate a bit better than the CRV on clean rims (running them front on a clean rim, rear on grind). Holds well on either surface, works better in the wet on a grind than a smooth rim. Pads are squishier than the CRV, you might even see the pads squish under the brake power. (Y) Good pads for the price, a bit thicker rubber than the CRV which is always good. I've used the CRV pads before, they're really nice on both grind and smooth, and am currently using the V-fly pads front and rear.. They both squeak a fair bit on clean rims, but tend to get more silent on a grind. Great pads to sum it up, best vee pads I've tried yet.
  5. They look very similar to the Thierry Klinkenberg pads...
  6. Team Autovogue have them. here Gloss black only.
  7. 10-20 I reckon.. Which equals about 2-5 years worth of grinds. You'd buckle the rim to death before the grinds kill it :(
  8. Avid RW2 pads: Lifespan: 2 hours :(
  9. Metal cutting disc (Y) Can give everything from a light grind (currently on one) to a super-duper harsh, "cheese grater" effect grind (previous grind)... Just watch them pads (Y)

No, you're wanting a CK BMX hub.

Not true. I have a fully carbon seat though. Custom jobbie from Finland.

    Warranty

Probably not. Just buy a new one, they're not very expensive, are they?
  13. Koxx pads are supposed to last a lifetime, so just try a metal cutting disc grind. It can get VERY rough I tell you. Serious, you could probably use plastic pads on my old grind. Tis almost totally worn down though. Doesn't matter too much, plaz pads work a treat on clean rims :w00t: Btw, I might just film a wee grinding movie the next time I do mine.

I took the liberty of resizing and cropping your koxx bike pic. It's a bit too big to see the whole bike <_< Addy for it: http://trials-forum.farseer.net/feb04/koxxresize.jpg
  15. Oh yeah, might add that some pads wear down really fast. Monty hydra pads get eaten pretty quickly. Monty x-lite long pads last longer, due to bigger contact area. Plazmatic pads seem to last long on a grind. So do monty milk pads (the older ones) and koxx bloxx.
  16. Spin the wheel, drag the grinder, same thing really. I brush a few inches of the rim with the grinder, then spin the wheel a bit and repeat.

    Big Al's Top Tips

Because you can learn how to sidehop to back-pedal. It's a nice move to learn, enables you to hop up REALLY high stuff.. It's the sidehop's version of going to bashguard instead of backwheel, hehe
  18. I use a metal cutting disc, gives a really rough grind, eats pads! I hold the grinder at a 45 degree angle, but it doesn't really matter much. Gray is rim, green is grinder, yellow arrow shows which direction to "drag" the grinder to.

From trialsinshop.com Pretty cool looking disc mount on the Echo Urban forks. Strange place for a weld? Hehe, holds the steerer and crown-thing together.
  20. Stem is waaay dodgy though. Chain took ages, and spokes look crude. :-
