The above post is andy on luke's account.
  2. Basically the better riders will be at the top of the competiton in either biu and uci. The better rider usually wins at the end of the day. Im not sure if im explaining what I mean properly. Take vince, biu world champion and 2nd inn uci. Just because its different rules, he doesnt become rubbish.
  3. Mat hudson, if biu is less skillful than uci, then how come benito isnt uci and biu world champion??
  4. Matt is very correct. Some people forget that uci sections are completley different to biu ones. They are changed to suit. I doubt people could get through a 20inch biu section uci clean.
  5. Well Im not to sure which one to get, I heard the alex was probally better
  6. Basically I need a better rim than my awful 06 echo for the rear. But I also need it to be thinner. So I think its going to have to be a 38mm rim, like the cnced echo rims or the ronnie. But I have heard good things about the alex d32 but I have also heard that you cant get them over here. Any advice on the matter would be helpful

  8. No no, your all wrong. Real pimps roll on DMR V12 magnesiums. VP,s only last a month with me, I have had my DMR's over a year, say a year 3 months. The pins could do with replacing but there arent that bad. The worst thing on them at the moment is the bearings need replacing.
  9. hahahaa I couldnt spell coefficient earlier so just put value. What a numpty
  10. I find my disk can do this sometimes. Goes shit for no reason. But all I do is put up with it for a while and it starts working again. Might be worth trying. Or as bongo says it maybe a funny one. But I have always found that fiddling with disc's f**ks them up for a while anyway, so maybe giving it a bit of time will help.
  11. Well if we are going to ride Portland then I will want to be there for 10 to start. It gets dark about 4.30 so the earlier the better. Riding poole on the saturday too, so come along to that aswell.
  12. Friction is not effected by the size of the area in contact. So these pads no matter what size will have the same value of friction.

    Koxx Days 06

I sent my license form off today anyway. A bit off topic but as you are here mat. Why is there now and international license, and it cost a massive £25, and the normal license is now free??? Does the ACU not cover international events?? But why has it changed to my knowledge this year??

    Koxx Days 06

Do you mean you have to buy a £25 BIU international license to enter Koxx days??

  17. YES LUKE BUILD THE BIKE!!! I will help you. Looks like me and goddard may be down there. Just awaiting confirmation. If all goes to plan we will probally hit poole on the sat afternoon/evening and portland on the Sunday.
  18. Ok. I have used both. I used to have a hope bulb. Used it for ages, then I started ripping through rachet rings every month. And I mean every month, I would have to send it back to hope for them to fit a new one. I would pay them £10 and postage of £8 as it was becoming so regular that no way in hell should hope have to pay. So this all got rediculous as you can imagine, off the bike for at least 5 days and then the cost. So I got a king, not for the extra engagement, but for the strength and reliablility. If you get a second hand one then they are not that expensive. What wayne was saying about softer pedal strokes is true, I keep finding that happening to me. example, when your nicely balanced for a sidehop, and you dont use full power it can slip 1 or 2. These new ones have solved all the old problems of hope hubs, the axel flexing and pushing pawls into rachets, weak rachet rings, not deep enough rachet rings etc. People who have kings will keep their kings. People who have hopes will keep their hopes, or maybe upgrade to this new one. If my king exploded into a million pieces then I would proberly go for this hub. But until then there is no need.
