A "normal" car such as a fiesta etc unmodded, you can pass off as the 2nd driver no probalem. Idiots like Dan Ko and the guy with the GT above, when they crash these, they WILL, especially the merc look into it. Ive known them to go so far as to ask neighbours who drives the cars mainly etc. You will slip up and then you will be left with £1000s of damage. If you have no no claims, you gonna get shafted its simple as. Thats how it works, you build up no claims, increased age, insurance goes down. Theres no easy simple way of getting cheap insurance. Get your own policy and bite the bullet and pay high insurance on a shit car for a while. No point going on your parents insurance, been there, done it, and you get no gain from it

God were going round in f**king circles. I like cars, fast ones that handle well. That makes a good car imo. The way they look fits around that and 9/10 times looks great. In terms of driving, being able to throw bikes in the back means f**k all. Being "different" means f**k all. Im sure e46 m3 drivers (seems to be the most common fast car these days) (not footballers wives) dont all go "wow this car is amazing, but I best get something else that people dont know is fast" Its bollocks. Thats all well and good, but his amp doesnt have a preout. So he will have to use hi/low speaker wire inputs. Meaning regardless of whether his sub has a plate amp in it or not, it wont be used, the sony will.

yeah, £300 will get you a very nice sub. to be honest, a £300 sub will be in a different league to your amp, if its the one im thinking of. Id spend £200 on ebay on a sub, sell your amp for £50ish? or whatever theyre worth and spend another £150 on a nice amp on ebay. You would be getting some serious kit 2nd hand for that dosh

From what the guy at superfi has said, im guessing your amp doesnt have a pre or sub out? If this is the case, Id change amp. Using pass though, ie, speaker cable to wire a sub isnt the best. You have to keep adjusting the sub volume aswell as the missions volume on the amp, plus if i remember correctly you are powering the sub from the sony amp as opposed to the subs internal amp. Whats the model of your sony amp and do you have a prob with buying things 2nd hand?

Its just in my opinion, its all being done for the wrong reasons. You do a van up and stick a big engine in it to race unsuspecting people in their VTSs etc who are always up for a race, cos thats why you buy a VTS. Wrong imo. Its not the size im bothered about. Its a good dam van! ALL the weight is at the front. I know these lads want to be different, but it seems that they are more bothered about beating people in a stright line and surprising them. The money and effort they have spent they could have started with a good car in the first place!
