    My Steed

Cheers for the replies so far guys, glad you like it. Ive just sprayed the frame dark brown today, im almost certain that it won't be to most people's tastes, but I like it. Ive got another coat of lacquer to put on tomorrow then I should have it built by wednesday night all being well, Il post some more pics then. It rides supremely nice, it sits on the back wheel really nice and is the king of manuals, the only thing Im not to keen on is the wheelbase, its a shade long which makes spins a bit of a chore, but all going well I'l have a curtis by the end of the summer so that should put an end to the problem. The stickers were'nt to my taste either, they were to kind of cover up the fact that I had started stripping the frame and then wanted to go riding :"> Thanks, Tom

    New Leeson Machine

You lucky barstool! Im not too keen on many long bikes but that I love. I like the colour too. Congrats ;) Tom
  4. I used to run a magura but it sounds like I had the same problems as you. When it was set-up it ran really nice, but with evolution adapters ***shudders*** even if the pistons slipped the smallest bit it took hours to re-align. Anyhow, Im back onto full vee brakes now after completely ripping the hosing out of both my hydraulics  I run; Avid SD7 arms rear XTR front XT levers Kool stop pads on the front for some modulation Spanish v-fly pads rear And Oddysey brake line all over I take a small bit of tar out with me incase it gets damp, but other than that both brakes work immense, the rear brake locks much easier than some of my mate's maggys but still offers plenty of modulation for manuals. Hope you get one running Tom
  5. Thanks bud, sorry should have read the page a tad more thoroughly. Which actual model are you using now then? Im just looking at some of the lids on the sight and they look mahoosive >_< Cheers in advance, Tom
  6. I bought an 'Aitken Ace' from custom riders in Large a week or so back, tryed that on, and it was wwaaayyyy too big around the sides, it was sticking off a good 2" if not more all the way around. Sent that one back and got the medium, and I didnt stand a cat in hell's chance of getting that on. Was way too small. I cant seem to find a lid anywhere that will fit to a sensible degree of 'un-stupidness' There either way too big around the sides or too tight front and back. Does anyone know anywhere that will custom fit lids? Or if anyone has the same problem, which brand did you go for? Ive tryed giro, TSG, and pro-tec so far and none came close. Cheers, sorry If I kinda hi-jacked the thread, just seemed simpler than making a new one. Tom

    Wethepeople Dealers

Do you know if hotwheels import the four seasons pro build? I was talking to a guy at a skatepark nearby today and he reckons its worth the extra money. Tom

    Wethepeople Dealers

Cheers for the replies, sounds like a must buy for the summer I think. Thanks again, Tom
  9. Does anyone know of any mail order shops or dealers around Lincolnshire that stock wethepeople full builds? Im looking around for a Four seasons pro build but can't find any stockists. Four seasons pro Any web address's, phone numbers or the like would be helpfull. Im just getting back into Bmx again so I dont have any mags otherwise I'd be scouring one of those. Also, has anyone ridden a four seasons? If so what are they like? I'd be riding mainly trails and park (not very well either...) Cheers in advance, Tom

    Raceface Turbines

I know the bash is bent, theres no question about that (dmr ringthing + backwheel to crank moves = ), Im just hoping the actuall crank is ok. Good idea, I did'nt think of that. Cheers. Tom
  11. I was just wondering If anyone using turbines has noticed the way they look slight wonky or bent when you spin them fast? I was greasing the whole crankset the other day and noticed it when I put them back on, Its a virtually brand new bb too so I dont think thats the problem. I think it might just look bent because of the way the spider merges into the crank arm when you spin them fast, an illusion kind of thing. Just thought I'd see of anyone has noticed the same thing or wether mine are plain fecked. Cheers in advance, Tom

    Mongoose Update

I was looking at it on friday and to me it just looks like a GT hans frame  I could be wrong, but I swear thats all it was, not a prototype or whatever people are saying. Tom
  14. That is one extremely nice steed you have there. Love the colour and set-up, hope she rides well. Tom
  15. I'd look into some raceface turbines. Mine have lasted coming on for three years now no problems. Theres a huge choice of BB's, mine are still under a five year warranty and they're stiff as hell. Only niggle is they are ISIS, but if you really want square taper then I think (not 100%) that they do a square version too. Hope that helps, Tom

    I Mesh

Thanks for the offer but its sorted itself, I just re-installed it and it seems to be doing fine now, cheers anyhow :( Tom

    I Mesh

Right, scrap that idea, nothing seems to be working to fix it. Instead, does anyone know where to download the older versions of Imesh? Im looking for 4.0/4.5 but cant find it anywhere Cheers, Tom
  18. My first raceface bb did this when I cut the seat tube on my frame down and forgot to take out the bb (Y) :"> This meant that the shavings managed to work themselves into the shell, so that the slightest of movements made the nice crunch your refering to. I'd suggest an FSA platinum DH as someone up here /\ has allready mentioned. Mine seems to be holding out well. Tom
  19. Ive used raceface turbine cranks for coming up to two years now, and whenever I ride other peoples square taper cranks then go back onto mine, the turbines always feels that bit stiffer. The only problem I can find with Isis is the way the bottom brackets are a fair bit more expensive than square taper, meaning that If you are on a budget you have to go for the bottom of the range stuff. When I first got the cranks I used a raceface SRX bb, and although it works fine for a while, I dont think it was sealed, so after 4-5months of use it started creaking and feeling 'crunchy' with dirt. I replaced that with another SRX and just recently I cracked just next to where cranks bolt on (Y) So my advise is, if your opting for ISIS, its worth saving a little extra cash and going for a better bb in the long run (Im running some FSA one now, not sure which but it seems fine) other than that, ISIS rules in my eyes. Hope this helps, Tom
  20. Hehe, like I say, it doesn't suit everyone :"> Tom
  21. If it ends up on a saturday then Il be up for it, just I wont be able to get there without the aid of the ever trustworthy LIncolnshire train service. Im pretty sure there will be two or three lasd from round here up for it too. I think youve got my number, but If not then I can PM you it if you like? Tom
  22. It apparently does'nt work for some people, but I find that trying to table into the wall works. If you hit the wall at roughly 45 degrees, bit faster than jogging speed etc... (basically what everyone else has been saying...) then turn the bars slightly and tuck the bike under you, then push it into the wall at an angle, when I do it it almost feels like Im pulling a 'mini tabletop' into a wall. Like I say this does'nt seem to work for everyone, but for me it makes it easier to carve and find grip on the wall quicker. Hope that helps, Tom

    I Mesh

I downloaded Imesh about a week back now and its been working fine, but for the past two times Ive been on it and searched for something, its blanked out the details of what its found. Like, it will still have found the results, and you can still click on them and download them, but you have to guess at which ones are which because theres a big ass black bar covering them. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if it can be fixed. Ive allready tryed things like signing in and out numerous times, does'nt seem to be working though. Thanks, Tom
  24. Sounds like you know the area quite well then, hehe! I cant say ive heard of the riders you mentioned, but Ive ridden Bennachie, that place rules for natural stuff, and Ive also ridden Inverurie and Alford, there both awesome places for a days riding, the new skate park in Alfords a good laugh too. Watson and Travis, Im pretty certain that Im going to be moving into my dad's house in Insch for college now, so i'll let you know If/when I can get into Aberdeen for a ride, its only a twenty minute train journey so it should'nt be a problem (Y) Looking forward to it allready :S Thanks for all the replies guys, Tom
  25. Im thinking about going to college in Aberdeen basically, and was just wondering if anyone has been there and knows what its like? What are the courses/teachers/facilities/grades like? and so on... Ive checked the website but its a bit vague on things like results and what the actual courses involve. (Im thinking about taking photography, art & design and Geography) Also, onto the more important aspect of things (Y)" ... I'd be living with my dad in a village 10 minutes away from Aberdeen via train, so is there anybody who rides in the area often, or even better lives in/near Insch who rides? (long shot I know  ) Thanks in advance, Tom
