That's really good to hear! They have been really helpful with me when trying to find parts as well, even just over the phone I have only had positive experiences. These brakes were seized when I got them and they still had every spare part I needed, and the diagram to help rebuild them. Potential problem for me is having to pay shipping far outweighing the value of one tiny washer and maybe like a circlip but whatever, such is life They look interesting, wonder how that Avid/Hope one feels! Could definitely find a whole replacement lever if I looked, thanks. Sorry I never replied to these, ended up getting a Sram Level to just throw on in the meantime, works just as well for now. Will fix the Hope one in my own time and probably use it on a bike I'm not crashing on as much. Thanks for the advice guys

Hi everyone, Bit of a mishap earlier, attached a photo of the aftermath.. This brake was off my Orange 5, it's a Mono Mini 2007. I've had the lever pop out like this before and have fixed it. I don't know if it actually hit anything when I fell or not. Minor problem is, the brass washer (HBSP104) is bent a little bit. I may have a spare new one hidden somewhere at work but not sure. Or be able to straighten it with pliers. Also, I'm wary of using this lever for trials if this is going to keep happening, I don't want to mess up the groove that the circlip sits in by having it pop out all the time (if that makes sense) because that's just a bit of a waste of a lever. Also my riding style is best described as "clumsy, a bit rubbish" and it might be there's a better option for me. So, Option 1 - new Trial Zone lever, Tartybikes have one about the same age in stock for £107, anyone have any experience with this? I'm led to believe it would work fine with this caliper, can anyone verify or dispute this? I have loved the feel of this brake and I would stump up for this lever if it's going to be nice. Also, can this lever hold up to fairly rubbish trials riding (many crashes) or is it similar to my current one in terms of durability? Option 2 - Fix this one again and Hope for the best (see what I did there?) Option 3 - get like an Avid BB7 or something. Could sell this pair of brakes (anyone want them? have a rear as well) Many thanks Adam

Hi mate, might be of some use. I've shortened an older Rockshox Sektor from 140mm down to 100mm and I'm sure you can just keep going from there. Thought about going to 80mm and even less than that must be possible. I laser cut the spacers myself but you can buy them from TF Tuned I think or 3d print them. Look for any Rockshox Solo Air forks, Rebas and the like. 32mm chassis seems to work well enough. If you get some with a lockout that would come in handy for trials. It's a bit intimidating taking the forks apart but you don't need to be some kind of wizard to do it, it just involves sliding some stuff off of the main shaft, sliding the spacers on, sliding the rest of the stuff back on in the right order with the right oil/grease/whatever and tightening everything back up. I would be able to provide some help if you go down that route, but to be honest I just followed online tutorials and the SRAM diagrams. Good luck

Happy with Superstar V6, not sure if you can get them new anymore but I counted 57p.o.e and have been reliable enough for me to ride trials on them for about a year now I think. Did snap an end cap somehow but 6 pawls is pretty reliable, havent skipped on me. They had them cheaper than hope at some point and 135x9mm

I'm not a fan of the backflips and tailwhips myself but, on its own merit it's got people asking "What frames this" and "Are they going to let me buy one?" which is great. And FWIW both of these riders are super solid all round trials riders in my opinion, I'm stoked to see them on such a cool frameset. Theyre both quite young as well so I rate that too. The riding in this isnt really up my street but yeah cool video still imo

I can't resist riding "trials" when I'm out mountain biking, a lot of the local DH is quite techy so I'm always looking for silly ways to ride off or along things. I've an old Orange 5 and it's wicked for that because of how short and upright it is. I think that riding position makes more of a difference than just whether it has shocks or not. I'm not doing mad pedal kick gaps or sidehops on it (I'm no good at trials even on a trials bike I'm not going to be better on some 18" full susser 🤣) but for nose pivots, manuals, wheelie drops, moto-ing up things, whatever, it does the job. Rigid and 26" looks fun to me but then you may as well ride the Hex just shove a longer seat post in it. Personally I suggest getting used to the bounce 👍 and Akrigg is properly sick on a full suss! Interested to hear any other opinions though

Hi mate sorry to bump an old thread but just incase you didn't work it out, if you take the pad out and check it against a chart of common brake pads, it will probably match up with something already available. I've no idea what calipers are on your Onza, but its either going to be something like a Tektro or Promax etc with Onza written on them, or maybe an original Onza brake but either case will probably take a Shimano Deore pad. There are loads of designs but thats the most common, then loads more companies make the pads, just see what Tarty or your local shop have. If you send a picture here, me or someone else can help match it up 🙂 Adam
