Go for the nano, the reason being its flash memory. The big downfall of ipods are the harddrives, with arms getting stuck to platters etc. As for ipod copies...DONT go there!

I have thought about cutting a slot and plating the chainstay but I think I might cut the welds at the CS/BB area and move them inwards are there on the outer edge of the BB shell at the moment. I dont think tyre clearance will be a problem as I have massive clearance atm.

Ill put more info/pics up when I get time. I think im going to paint it a grey colour...I'd prefer to keep it a darker colour, think it will look loads better once painted. Just got to get hold of some paint now.

After many many many hours of work I finally have something that resembles a frame! It it NOWHERE near perfect at all but I am pleased with what I have managed to do. Its full T45 tubing, 395 chainstays, 1040 wheelbase, +10mm bb rise. I was originally going to braze it but didnt have the facilities but managed to borrow a MIG welder from someone. I have never welded before so the welds are nasty to say the least! Seems to be pretty strong. I started to build it up but I have realised a fundemental flaw as my cranks are interfering with the chainstays Im using a 127.5mm bb axle aswell so I cant see an easy solution to this Ah well its been a MASSIVE learning curve. I have learnt so many new skills and techniques. If you are considering making one you have to be prepared to put A LOT of time into it and you will get very frustrated throughout building it. A big thanks to TODGE and IOLO for answering many questions. I have just come to terms with how much debt I am going to be in after 3 years of uni. With the way loans are now Im going to be at least £18,000 in debt after 3 years at uni. I know you dont start paying back until your earning at least £15,000 but I think this is pretty disgusting. My brother who is going to do his final year at uni is only paying £1500 a year on tuition fees (HALF of what they are now) as he's on the old system. I'm starting to wonder if its even worth it? Hey there, hopefully starting uni in september and me and my Gf are considering renting a flat together. I'm guessing quite a few people on here have or are renting a flat...I'm after as much information as possible, any useful hints or tips? My one query is electricity and gas. I'm getting windows vista soon and just wondering if anyone's had any major software compatibility issues? I'm mainly concerned with Macromedia MX 2004 and Photoshop 7.0? Does Vista provide any support for running programs like this? (Like they did in XP with the program compatibility tab when right clicked) Thanks, Dave

I have fixed many ipods over time. It it loads fine but you just cant here the music then the headphone jack could of broken or the ribbon connecting the audio pcb to the mainboard may have come loose. If you cant get the ipod to load then the Hardrive connection has probably come loose (Very common - causes the sad ipod face) Dave

This sounds stupid but check if your in a wireless hotspot from neighbours routers...Very rarely use wep etc..hmm free internet ( I am not responsible for any actions)
