  1. Anyone else find that working with bikes all the time really puts you off riding? The last thing I want to do when I get home is see another bike! Also pretty fed up with customers who know everything..."My mates had a bike for 3 years and never replaced the chain..". More than anything the word 'Warranty' drives me crazy!
  2. I'd like to see this! Does anyone know the laws regarding transporting loads on motorbikes? From what I have read it looks a bit vague.
  3. Yeah just about still riding, getting back into it over summer. I remember worcester rides being mint too, I seem to remember you trying to teach me to tap...I still can't
  4. Andy you need a BMF rim with holes drilled in it
  5. I remember when brum rides used to be amazing, all the worcester and stourbridge lot. Going by this thread they don't sound like much fun anymore!
  6. The problem I seem to have is that the files play perfectly well in windows but then when I say drag a clip into a storyboard (in lots of different programs..) when I play it, it is really slow =S
  7. I am looking at editing some HD clips in .mov (h.264) format. I have quickly discovered that most software is fairly slow etc (Despite a fast pc..) Can anyone recommend some conversion software for converting it to another easier to manage format? Thanks, Dave
  8. The old TRA and Danny Holroyd vids (Trialskings vids in general..) Plus all the old group ride vids from back in the day, watching them now is nostalgic.

    Streety 26"

From what I have seen (Using caches of the echo website back in 04) they quoted 0mm BB rise at first then +10mm a few months later. Not sure if this was a final revision or mistake etc?

    Bike Mechanic

This is not true at all. I know several mechanics who make very good money and travel all around the world. Many people do aspire to be a manager too, also.

    Bike Mechanic

I guess it depends on the kind of bikes your working on. Doing high-end bikes and more interesting jobs like fork services and bearing replacements is what keeps me going (3 years now =S). A lot of the time it is very repetitive and boring, though.

Try and get a place on a Cytech training course and become an accredited mechanic. http://www.thecyclingexperts.co.uk/cytech/
  14. I wouldn't hold out for windows 7 too much. You can always buy a laptop with vista and either put up with it for a while, downgrade to XP (Recommended) or even install the windows 7 RC. You can always upgrade to windows 7 later but obviously this will cost more. Just make sure your hardware supports the virtualization for virtual XP mode.
  15. Good old birmingham, where abouts were they?!
  16. DNS records need to update so will take some time.
  17. Student, just finishing my second year. Part-time cycle mechanic. Hopefully an embedded system design engineer in a year or so
  18. You've got amazing Mike. Vids like this are motivating me to get back into riding
