HAHAHA I bet that was quite funny actually. I could just imagine you doing that!

Today when we were out riding a policeman came over and started talking to us. He asked us how old we were and basically said that riding when the streetlights are on without lights on your bike is against the law which we had no problem with but he then went on to say that there is a £60 fine for anyone caught without lights after dark, and that you also had to go to court. He was very nice about it but i just cant see lights lasting very long before they fall off our bikes because of the shocks a bike gets when you do a drop etc. I was also looking at my bike and thought, Theres nowhere i could even mount a light (zoo python) on the rear as the tubes arent round and on the front my bars are too fat. I was thinking, if he saw us again (likely) do you think he would give us all the fine and how could we get out of it. In my opinion there are much worse crimes he could be sorting out like theft and being drunk and disorderly etc. Like i say he was very nice about it and i know he is just trying to look after us but to me there are more serious offences to commit. Sorry if you disagree but i just think that policemen nit pick which is easy rather than sort out big crimes as they will take much longer to sort out and do all the paperwork for etc. Rant over

Brilliant topic mark, ill add to it I find cleaning it out with a old soft brisseled(sp?) paint brush and petrol is really good as it rinses it as your cleaning. Also if you can when you first take the lockring off (the green bit) take the funny clip out and the seal behind that and there will be a little plastic holder that keeps all the bearings evenly spaced out. Take this out and clean the ball bearings out too. Use GREASE in these as they are not in with the springs and pawls and refit the bearing holder. Just take your time with this and make sure you have 1 space for 1 ball bearing. Refit as you did dismantle and make sure the metal clip is in properly. Hope this helped

I know David Lynch (Trials_Dave) is on it a few times. He also got a little bit done on him in it once for the globe shoes and never recieved them. Sounds like its always the same. I hav'nt heared of anyone that actually got them.

I say get the unwelded one. If locktite doesnt stop it from coming undone then get someone to weld it for you. To me £7 for 4 spots of weld is a rip off!! Supercycles do them for £10 unwelded, just get a local mechanic to weld it or a freind or teacher that welds

Its a sticky piston Take the pads out and take the top off the master cylinder and pull the lever a few times to move the pistons in. dip your finger in some brake fluid and smear it round the pistons (this acts as a lubricant for them). Next work the pistons by 'tickling' the lever and when they get fairly far in push them back with a screwdriver again. keep repeating the process before cleaning all excess fluid off and replacing the pads and top cap. Make sure you dont let the pistons come too far in as they will pop out and you will loose all your fluid and have to rebleed.

Thanks for all the ideas guys. Ill be trying them today

Right, basically i oiled my chain today ant i put a little too much on and it has flicked out onto my back wheel. Obviously this has made the rear brake rubbish. any ideas how to clean it please? ive tried brake cleaner and it doesnt seem to have made it any better Any help appreciated.

Hi, Right i've just got my new Toxsin BB through but on the non driveside cup it has locktite on about half of the threads. My question is, Should i take this off? because i've always installed bb cups with stacks of grease to make it come out easier, not locktite!! Cheers, John.

Running the risk of sounding 80 "A chain is only as strong as the weakest link"

Hey, I used to love snail cams but i bought a pair of chain tugs as an experiment and never looked back Aslong as you get your chain tensioned properly on them then hacksaw the end off the threaded bit so it cant get hit they will last forever
