  1. Still a bit of a piss take to be honest. No wonder they're in such a mess financially due to couriers taking the business away from them. When I bought some bars online from a reputable bike company they only charged £5 p&p and that was via Royal Fail. Maybe they just charge us normal people more and the businesses who pay for a Royal Mail account less. Good shout on Hermes though thank you. I'll be using them next time and not even consider Royal Fail. Rich
  2. Just been to the post office to send some Ethirteen bars to someone who won the auction on Ebay. Boxed up nice and light 450 gram. I was astounded at the fact they wanted £16 to send them . Seems Dick Turpin is in charge of Royal Mail theae days. Needless to say I wasn't paying £16 to send a product which sold for £20. I'm not tight but that to me is taking the absolute urine. Rich
  3. Thanks for the information Mark, much appreciated. Next rainy day I'll whip the cranks off and give the bb a nip up if it needs it. I'm used to full suspension bikes you see and they don't get quite as much abuse as a fully rigid so I see how things can come a little loose easier. Just a quick question, the non drive side has a preload adjuster, what's the deal with that? Do I undo that to remove the non drive crank and re tighten to a specific torque? Sram cranks are new to me. Rich
  4. Thanks for that, I'm sure there's no cracks at the moment though as the bike is pretty new and hasn't been given a lot of abuse. Rich
  5. I was thinking the same way a rear cassette on a MTB works, that seems to alter the chainstay length too is you think about it. When in a lower gear the chain is in a longer position than a lower gear. Rich
  6. Thinking logically if you had horizontal dropouts then moving the rear axle will give you an idea of a smaller rear sprocket. Move it towards the pedals for a smaller sprocket feel and away for a larger feel. Rich
  7. Just trying to find the source of a creak. I thought I would take the BB out and clean the threads and re-grease. The cranks are tight still as there isn't any wobble and torqued to 50nm. When I mentioned servicing I meant taking out, cleaning the bottom bracket housing and re-greasing not stripping the bb down Rich
  8. My BB has twice as many notches as that tool though
  9. Hello guys, my Fourplay came with the above Bottom Bracket and was wondering what tool I need to service it please. It's my first DUB bottom bracket as I've got shimano ones on all my other bikes. Many thanks Rich
  10. I was after a slim shin guard and lightweight. Unfortunately the Comas ones were indeed slim and lightweight but as durable as women's tights. If someone had have said that then they definitely wouldn't have been chosen
  11. And the stitching has begun to come away after only a few uses Stay away from these chaps
  12. I went for these in the end https://www.tartybikes.co.uk/protection/comas_shinguards/c119p13713.html Opted for the Adult Large size and prayed they weren't too large. I don't have particularly bulky legs being 180cm and 74kg but my God they are a tight fit! Very light and breathable though which is a good thing but extremely tight between the knee and calf, I'd like to know how old the Adult Large model was for Comas when deciding the sizing, 12 maybe?
  13. The team bars feel night and day compared to the pro bars. Nothing wrong at all with the pro bars but the team are considerably more comfortable for taller riders. That's the only reason to buy team over pro bars.

Just found this, totally shocking on behalf of the "Rule Makers". https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/business-55530721

In response to the 28 different VAT numbers, I'm sure that wont be an issue soon as the world is slowly abolishing cash and moving to crypto currency. They're putting it down to covid as an excuse again . Basically another method of monitoring us further as cash transactions can't be traced. It's begun already as Tesco won't allow cashback from the tills and only half the tills are able to take cash otherwise it's card. Call me mad or a conspiracy theorist or whatever but this has been planned for years (along with this pandemic) and us wanting Brexit has really pissed on the Global Elites's chips, that's why we're getting penalised. Yes but look at the bright side, trawlers aren't allowed to fish within a certain distance from our shores . WOOOO HOOOO great result we're all saved thanks Boris! Bikester has 1 Holy Roller but there's no point buying just the one. What do you use guys on your 24" wheels? Looks like an alternative might be needed until the Holy Roller starts to be produced again. It's all gone very wrong for this country hasn't it.

Thanks for the detailed reply Mark. What you've said is probably spot on regarding lots of new cyclists during the pandemic. Although I think a lot of them will end up using Ebay after this has all come to an end guess to them being able to do other things once more. A great time for cycle businesses selling bikes but it will come crashing down like the old saying what goes up must come down. I'll head off to Bike24 and order a couple this evening, not being greedy and ordering the lot! Brexit will have an impact too as I've seen on some foreign shops that they're unable to post to Great Britain but will post to other countries. Bit petty I thought since all they'd have to do is add a little more import tax which I wouldn't mind at all compared to not getting the product. Rich

Sometime in the near future I'll be looking at replacing my Maxxis Holy Rollers 24" by 2.4 for some new ones. Trouble is they seem rare as hens teeth at the moment! What's happening? Can't be anything to do with this "Pandemic" as cycle shops are classed as essential businesses so obviously the suppliers must be too
  20. Thanks for the detailed reply Mark. I've ordered some Inspired Team bars from Tarty and no doubt will be here soon. Hopefully it will be a more natural position for me as I'm 182 cm tall with shoes and should be less cramped. You're right about the pro bars being quite low, kind of hinders me a little learning some of the street trials fundamentals. Just a quick question, are the team bars wider than the pro bars? I can't seem to find any info on the width of the pro bars and unable to measure them just now as I'm away from the bike. Rich
  21. Hello could someone please explain the advantages over a longer stem over higher rises bars please. I've got a 2020 Fourplay pro and fancy rising the bars up a bit. It's totally standard setup at the moment. I've read hops are easier with a higher bar setup but would changing the stem length be better or swapping the bars to the inspired team bars which have a higher rise. Thanks Rich
  22. Hello John. I'm learning too and I've found do what feels comfortable for you. I ride left foot forward and feel more comfortable turning to the left but also practice turning both ways. There's no laws stating which way to turn depending on what's your strongest foot. Both should be practiced so you're comfortable in all directions. I went for the Fourplay pro as my first bike, better brakes and drive train but go with what you can afford. Rich
  23. Good advice thanks, I'm planning on getting 2 new chains of the same and use the spare links once shortened to replace the quick link on the original chain. The new quick link will be used as a "get me home" if I get a breakage. Yes there's certainly a lot more torque involved with trials compared to MTB I agree. Thanks very much for the comments, much appreciated. Guess there's no hopping for me until the new chains arrive, it'll be an excuse to get the cube stereo out and use her for a bit . Rich
  24. I was running the split link too without any issues but now I've got that nagging doubt with re using it after I opened the chain carefully with circlip pliers then re-attatching it. Are they really a throw away item once undone or safe to use once re-attatched? It didn't pop into place with a click like the first time I connected it together on assembly. Rich
