Nick, If he hasn't got his CBT yet its gonna be a while before he passes his test, so no 600s till then. I would say that getting on a 125 first and riding it around on L plates for a while makes it so much easier to pass your test and gives you valuable experiance before you jump on a faster bike. At first a 125 is certainly fast enuogh. Becasue I was gaining experiance riding my XR around on L plates I only needed a couple of bike lessons to pass my test. There were others at the lessons who haddent been riding outside of lessons as they didn't own 125s and they took much longer to learn and looked less comfortable on their bikes.

I'm sure you will need a CBT. They last for 2 years, so easily long enuogh to learn to ride and pass your test. Some CBT schemes supply bikes for CBTs at no extra cost, so might aswell ride their bike,s but if hiring will cost then riding your own bike obviously has advantages. As for bikes, the Honda XR125 is wqorth looking at. Its a 4stroke 125 off road/dual purpose bike. They run and run and run. Also they are in a very low insurance group, I got mine insured for £270 3rd party with motorcycledirect.com. If you were interested in one I am selling mine as I've passed my test and moved on to bigger things. PM me or something

I assume Rob meant a motorbike. I'd also think it would be a good idea, aslong as you were infront of police, becasue they cant knock you about liek they can in a car. I'd want a super moto, so I could do this.....

I'm with this guy, as much as I enjoy birmingham to ride cant miss Ians birthday ride.

My Koxx Greens have been the best pads I've ever used, well worth the £18. I've run them for comming upto a year. I basically set my brake up once and I've left it, new grind once every 4/5 months. They have been brilliant.

Liking that Phil. Me and Tim will have to make it down to you guys for a ride sometime soon Some awesome linee, though the camera doesn't do that 540 over the gap at Epic justice.

Nice one Ad, it came out well. Looks like you had a cool ride in Oxford on sunday too

I dont want to take sides on this argument, but all I will say is that everything has a nature of repition. If you watch Tims section of GET1 you could deffine it as bunny hop, manual, manual, bunny hop, spin. In the same was as you could say that Craig Lee Scoots section was tap, gap, sidehop. Not that this makes the DVD bad, I really like Tims section and the DVD as a whole. The same can be said for a BMX videos, they are just a different repition. If you watch a trails video, there are going to be a lot of turndown, table top, 360 type sections, or on street a lot of manual, grind down handrail and barspins. For one you are comparing BMX as a whole to one area of trials. Secondly you are comparing the amount of variation in a trick oriented sport to the amount in a sport based on traversing a section. Trials is trials, BMX is BMX, go ride and have fun.

I should be in for friday and saturday, but cant be sure till the day

You couldn't go on motorways untill you passed you test anyway, by then most people want something more than a 125, so I wouldn't really think of that as a consideration.
-
Or just buy a 125 motorbike, instead of a scooter and, in my case atleast, do 60 comfortably as standard and 70 with a nice long flat run. With same sortta price insurance. Scooters dont seem worth the effort.

Insurance wise go through www.motorcycledirect.com. Thats who I went with for my 125 and it worked out good. To insure my Honda Xr125 it was £285, that was my first bike, so 0 no claims. Which 125 you get and its styling ( Race or off road etc) will make a large impact on your insurance. Have a look on the net for the insurance groupd for different bikes you want. Road tax is £15 a year on my 125, so not really an issue. If your interested I'm selling my XR [attachmentid=3191]

I'm up for going to a couple of those

All I know is that Clive phoned me and told me that he could now get them in chrome for 24" in 32h and 36h at £32 each. And yes, I miss the ghettoness a little. It still sounds ghetto, I think my headset is mangled, and my hubs probably on its last legs, haha, its alllll good.

My 609 has gone from its ghetto multi coloured black/red/silver/blue/green setup: [attachmentid=2981] To a more simple red and green ( glow in the dark) setup. Thuoght I might show you forum people. [attachmentid=2980][attachmentid=2979] I'm going to get chrom rims back for the summer as Clive Leeson can now get rhyno lites in chrome

Its ti though. So if you bend the hanger you can straighten it out with a pretty damn small risk of it breaking.

Maybe I'm just odd, but I've never had problems with my low bar set up. I've got a 90x5 stem, with 5mm stacker and 1" rise bars. I wouldn't say it feels any worse than a high bar set up, just different. Maybe I need to try a higher bar set up, how did you guys find it affected your pure trials stuff ?

26" is approx 660mm , 24" is approx 609mm and 20" approx 505mm. Thats where the numbers come from. As for Clear or Fluid, can only assume they are just to describe how to ride it, to clear sections or be fluid.

AD7 were probably the best band I've ever seen. Hows that for rubbing it in dan ? Charel was correct about the video tunes.
