    125cc Cbt

They might be doing it in stages, rather than a single day? I'm doing my 125 CBt with a motorcycle training scheme near me thats run by volenteers, they are properly qualified but its not a business. This means they only teach on sunday mornings, so I have to do 2-3 sunday mornings to get my CBT, got my second morning tomorrow. It works out nicely, as because they aren't getting paid they dont mind taking their time and making sure your as safe as possible before you ride on your own. It also means I will get free instruction right upto passing my proper bike test (Y)
  3. I dont think its worth it. Most people dont use the full quality of their cameras on the internet as it is. My camera records at 1megapixel ( 2Mp CCD) and with firewire/softwear limitations captures at 720x576 pixels, its crazy quality ( Sony HC-85). I'd say looknig at that kittens clip it would be as good, especially with the lighting and such of that clip. I know my camera isn't the best either, there are better mini DV cams with better lenses etc out there. But to retain that full quality works out at a rediculus file size. When I put videos on the web, I compress using mpg, and it goes down to 352x288 pixels. If we were using HD I'm sure people would need to do similar, otherwise it would take days/week to downlaod and destroy bandwidth. The first step I wouldc say is to find better compressors/bigger files so that we use the current crop of cameras to their full potential, then after that maybe HD would be good.
  4. Fairplay, you have improved quite a bit thruogh out the video, and there was some variation of moves in there. But, you've made antoehr video styled on Craig and Neil videos, and yet another Bullet for my Valentine song. Youve video would have looked alot better if you had used a more suitable song,. doesn't have to be mellow jazz or anything, just something a little more individual and interesting. Editing was ok in a few places, and unlike many you didn't have too much repition, but it was patchy, some of the effects didn't work, or suit.
  5. Awesome. That looked like great fun. Just out enjoying a ride pulling some lines.
  6. You basically prooved that your gang are troulbe with that sentence. But i'm not gonna say you are. As other have said the term Chav, or Pikey or whatever, isn't againsat the peopel who follow sports wear fashion, or maybe people from council estates, its against those who are generally unsociable to everyone and casue trouble.
  7. Fatmike only snaps Avids, because hes Fatmike. I dont think many people have broken Avids, and they are cheap and work very well.
  8. Q: Does this magic 8 ball work? A: My sources say no. Nuff said
  9. That was wicked. Looks like he enjoys riding, and having fun while doing so. The riding isn't amazing, buts its pretty good and theres a few nice lines in there, especially considering I hear the trials scene is Chillie is pretty non-exsistant. Good tune to suit the riding too.
  10. Be inventive (bodge) :P When I needed similar, I built the attatched bike, it cost me about £200. I just had a good look in my shed and asked around. I got the frame and forks off a mate for £40 the pair, the forks at Judy Race, which are pretty nice forks, just a few years old. Had a spare stem and bars in the shed, along with a front hub. I got the rear wheel, normal halo build for £5 and the rim which was a bit dented for 30p, and so on. Then I spent a little money on new parts, like chain, grips, rear brake. I had a bike that worked perfectly well and got me to college and back comfortably for months at very little cost.
  11. For some reason I find bunnytaps rediculously scary. Think this just the fact that I'm heading at the wall saoo fast and knowing I intend to hit the front wheel thats a bit off putting. When people do the right though, they can get seriously high.
  12. Yes on a 24" its worth doing. It isn't worth it on a mod.
  13. Cant really blame Mike for trying or Ali C for that matter. We never know, it might have worked out awesomely, but I think at the end of the day it probably isn't worth the hastle for most riders. What we really need is somone on the inside of mavic who can accidentally set the machine to make 521s aboiut 40 something mm wide, amvic woulsd realise they are rejects and sell them off cheap.......... Or to set the machine to make 24" 521s, that would be cool.
  14. I have to say hats off to you Mike, for spenmding the money and trying these things. But at the same time I dont think this rim is as revolutionary as you say. You mention the plus point of it holding a grind well, which it does, but with the new selection of pads available this isn't such a big deal. As you said your Blue Heatsinks work awesomely, and they do, but they also work just aswell on Flipkickbs' bike which has a normal Echo rim, and you've felt the brake is just as good. That could just be down to the pads working well for you two. Theres no denying the rim is denting, and regularily. It does seems to be staying true and egg free but the sidewalls are taking a battering, and I cant see it beeing long before they start to crack. What I think you would need is 521 strength sidewalls, but that would make a rim too wide and far too heavy. Which brings me onto the next point, the rim IS heavy. If that doesn't bother you fair enuogh, but to me that would matter. Drilling it would bring the weight down, but it would also reduce the overall strength. This may lead to it beeing as easy to buckle/egg as a normal rim. Its a fair experement, and worth doing, but if I was riding a stock I think I'd just get a normal rim and compromise.
  15. The other option o a expensive graphics card is running two cards. When I was running two monitors I had a 15" running off an old super cheapo PCI graphics card with 1mb ram etc, and a 17" running off a proper AGP grphics card. The reason I had two screens was so that I could run full screen aplications and still use msn, and so that when video editing I could have more room. By arranging my softwear correctly so that only grphically simple things were on the second screen it worked awesomely. It also cost me nothing as I found the screen and card in the attic.
  16. wooo, looking like a good ride. Me, Tim Stedman, Samthebiker, Flipkickbs, Josephine and Fatmike will be down. 6 in the Landy time, gonna be a squash but see you all there <_<
  17. I weighed my Leeson both at clives and at home. The wieght of frame, subtracting the weight of BB is 4lbs 10oz, which isn't rediculously heavy. I was given the impression the curtis was over 5lbs, and Gary is happy to overbuild for strength pushing the weight up further. Back on topic, I'd go for the Leeson. If they are both going to take a while to be made, and going to be semi custom, then why not go for the cheaper and more customised option. I love my 609, its an awesome frame. Admittedly I have crackedand broken the seatstay on mine, after 9 months of abuse, but its still an awesome frame. I phoned Clive to tell him I've broken seatstay and if I get the frame to him he will replace the stay, add a small gusset and check alignment of whole frame and send it back to me for free.
  18. Yeh the Hyabusa isn't great, but this was just about going fast so it dont matter. Personally I'd take a KTM supermoto over the Hyabusa anyday, woo roll on geting a motorbike.
  19. I'd take one of those ^^ above that Porsche. Mainly because you could probably afford one of these, and then a car you could take people and stuff in aswell, with out too many remorgages.
  20. Nice one Mike, some of those pictures look awesome. Not sure on a couple of them, like that one a of the fence ( just below me) but some others are awesome. To clear confusion, I'm riding a Pashley 26Ghz, which I've put 24" wheels in because thats all i have. It rides ok, but not as nice as a real 24" due to lack of BB rise. Though I still think its rides nicer than a normal 26Ghz. Pashley were awesome bout lending me one of Tims old frames which was waitng for refurbishing and giving back to tim, while I wait to get my Leeson back on the road.
