In the end,i did buy rear wheel (Play rim and Echo hub) and Trials bike shop did light grind for me but when i took a look at it is seems that i had to tell them to do medium one. This light grind is,i guess, what supposed to be and maybe it was my mistake to not order a medium one, anyway. It is my first grinded rim so i do not know what to expect because i ride only smooth so far(Jitsie pads for smooth tims are awesome, both for HS and Vbrakes).

By the way i had same problem with my 5-10 freerider but in reverse, foot stop been sored when shoe is wearing out.I never ride trial shoes but eould like to try on.

Handlebar Rise: Does It Really Make a Difference?
basstrials replied to Ordinary Juan's topic in Trials Chat
The easiest way to get an answer to your question is to experiment with two different handlebars, one with a large rise and the other flatter for several days in a row. You will see that with the higher rise one it is easy to make bunnyhop and manual with a small amount of power and weight distribution instead of flatter one. On the other hand, for the backhops you need the front end close to your body to achieve proper balance on the rear wheel, so a handlebar with more lift is a compromise. Put in this "equation" and the length of the stem together and you have to do some experiments to get what you really need what to achieve. I have a "street all rounder" Giant TT (old geometry) with an Inspired team handlebar and i make bunnyhop easier than with the same bike with a Pro two-inch riser with the same 90mm stem. So I guess it's going to be the same with Inspired bikes, but I'm by no means an expert, I'm just saying that if you do more street stuffs and use bunnyhop like going up technique, stick with this bike but if you need to spend more time on rear wheel to backhops etc. it would be more practical to get yourself a comp bike. -
I did put Echo 135/25 instead of 150/30.It is helps me to keep doing trackstand very easy. With the longer one the bike was too "roomy and big" for me.Anyway.I did watch some video of yours that is why asking. Thank you.

That's right! My mistake! BTW,what stem you did ride with your Echo?

I do not know what the reason is but the choice of rear rims is disappointing.I did not find any Trialtech rims anywhere and it is looks like their site has not been updated since long time. Are they still exist? It is shame that you can't buy directly from them stuffs.I have one Echo TR rear wheel with double wall rim in very good shape but it is not grinded so i would like to keep it this way for now to have another one and to grind it.I still learn to backhop so... Maybe i will take Hashtaggs. So,do we going to end of the bike-trials sport because of the lack rims of?
-
Thank you,i did look for this Play rim and did not find any in black color.Which other brands offer i beam shape rims as well?
-
Hi everyone. The market of the trial rims seem to be too tight and there are very few options to build a rear wheel.I would like to have a spare one so i did start to check the sites out and i did find that main offer is Jitsie as well as Coma and few offers of Hashtag and Echo SL. My question is : Which rim is strongest of them (because i am 96kgs) in term of building? P.S. I know about the Trialtech but i did not find any. Thank you in advance.

Spank offering e-bike steel freewheel for j-type Hex which i guess it is stronger and it is good upgrade for trials and it is not so expensive.I run same hub but on my enduro bike and helps me a lot for trackstand, front wheel lift and so on.No problem so far(riding it about two years). Happy riding.

BTW,Adam was right.Part of the problem was left side crank arm but the bigger one was freewheel.
-
La Bourde, would be fit on the Echo?I did look at pictures and did not see any threads.Sorry if this is silly question.
-
Well,so i did.Take the freewheel out to check it out and it was in not great condition. The previous owner had done damage on inner plate of the freewheel trying to unscrew using wrong tool. The freewheel itself has a little play backwards wich it to is not good sign,so i did put i back and i am going to ride it this way until new one comes(i ordered one).I did find brand new SL as for the the present one maybe i would do overhaul after a time.Does new one need bed in time and how it is been achieved? As for the overhauling, yes is pain in the .ss and probably will end in the trash bin. Thank you for your time.

Thank you for your suggestions. The chain is clean and is one month old.I did buy this bike second hand and do not know how it is been maintained. The noises are like "overclicked"a bit if that is makes any sense but not constantly, just few of clicks more than usual and freewheel it is not so loud (it is sounds dull). Hundred percent is for service and maybe need new one.If it is need new one what choice do i have? Echo it is not longer made unfortunately. Thank you.
-
I am pretty sure this is comes out from the freewheel.Any suggestion for new one?Would SL one could be put on my Echo( not SL one) or Jitsie?
-
Thank you,i guess it is has to be disassembled whole drivetrain to check all parts out?
-
Hi there,i have this problem with my echo freewheel. So,when i push down with my left foot it starting some noise, something like bearings inside the freewheel itself. It lasting from left crank arm horizontal to the very bottom then disappearing and appear this time in the right crank arm but for the tiny time but only when i push down with my right foot and then disappearing again and this not in every rev.Sometimes two times in a row, sometimes one time.It not skipping or cracking, just this. What this might be?If i need new freewheel what brand would be because Echo is out of stock everywhere.Thank you very much.

Aren't these Jitsie/Tr1al just for smooth rims or not?I am using them for smooth ones and they hold well(but i am beginner).

Unfortunately i was not able to do some video of me lifting front wheel because i was experienced firts chain snap. I was stupid enough to attach half link on my chain but lesson learned, never again. Thanks God nothing serious.

Thank you,Dyakov.I barely practice these days because it is too hot, almost everyday is 42 degrees.Very awful time for practicing trial.I hope so during next following days temperature to get lower so....I did try the method you did mention, the one with rocking back from endo but for some reason my leading foot get back (ratchet back)and trow me off balance to the way before i reaching balance point.Easier way to me to lift front wheel is from trackstand ratcheting my leading foot back but most of the time i just past behind the balance point and just fall backwards in safest way of course.I can't feel where the balance point is yet,so someone have to tell me how my posture is and so on.I hope so these days to make video of myself doing some techniques and get some help from you. Thank you for you help BTW.

I try learn backhop using quarter strock of my leading foot from trackstand(both directions on the front wheel )to lift front wheel but i can not feel the balance point, successful a few times but most of time not.Usually i falling forward and sometimes to left -lol.I can not do it from rocking.Maybe i did not ask my question rightly,i should try to hop after reaching balance point or do i started before this? Have to make video of myself these days, could be easier. Thank you for your help.

Yes,they looks nice.I really would love to have one Zoo as well but it is not possible.Who knows, maybe Echo will start make them again. La Bourde,i put 145/30 stem and now feel the bike more naturally somehow, still have pressure on my palms but it is little and i am jot that stretched so much.Despite this i would like to try 125mm one.I did try to lift front end like for the bunnyhop (just for the record 😀) but it is weights a ton,so i have to chnge my technique and use pedals more. This Jitsie handlebar is nice one but the Echo one that was on bike initially is good also,so i would swap them up to see wgich one is more suitable. So about stem length,i know it is strongly individual but what is the effect ot tve length of the stem when doing backhops?Which one is better for the hand positioning?Or maybe would affect front moves, like front pivot, endo etc. more? And La Bourde, once more, when i try to make backhop should i have to start make hops immediately or when i loose balance point?I will make video of myself trying some moves to get corrected. Have a nice time.
