pashley sounds good, or those 'new' frames (actually KOXX's old race codes that weren't sold (its gota stupid name like 'weeehooo' or something ridiculous). steve
-
isn;t this a Danny Butler frame? probably just a tweaked geo version for mass production, to me this looks uber strong. steve
-
me and a few mates are planning to do a tour around the midlands and some other major cities from MK in the summer, thinking of going to cambridge too, we can arrange our tour according to this ride you're organising. steve

Just Pulled Off My First Pedal Hop/lurch
Gandalf the Yellow replied to Enigma's topic in Trials Chat
in my opinion technique doesn't reaaally matter as long as you can do it. technique is just a way to improve it to make it look better/get more air (Y) etc. well done anyways. steve -
too much hassle if you ask me, you seem a bit picky and i don't actually know whats going on now, 1st you said you have F519's which will not fit, but now you;re on about you don't even have the frame, so....err (Y) what??? how exactly would you know it won;t fit if you don;t have a the frame yet?.... and i would assume most frames, if not all would take an echo nicely, and its light in my opinion. others such as RONNIE, (rear onza rim is also the same width as an echo) or the REGGIE,(the front version of RONNIE which is 32mm wide/doublewall) so thats that.. if you don't like our help and keep being a mong then just go to a bikeshop and tell them to fit you a rim that will work with whatever set up you've got at the moment. steve

well the tioga's are used by ashton and hawyes, (they used to anyway if they don't do so now) they look nice and i reckon you should go for them. steve

What Would You Class As Being A 'street Wheelbase?
Gandalf the Yellow replied to Jonno's topic in Trials Chat
i'd say no bigger than 1065, my giant @ 1040 (i think...or it can be a 1045) it feels streety with a tiny EA50 stem. steve -
wow yea, some impressive ridin there! erm is it me, or this dude uses a very low gear(or big teeth on the back)? silly thing to notice really... :"> steve
-
yea he doesn't have a chain on because he needs to replace his BB anyway, it doesn't look like he's ridden the bike yet, so he's probably in the process of building it up. niiiiiiicee bike though. i like it. steve

agreed steve

i reckon no more than 80mm for trials, and 80mm should be enough for a bit of dirt jumping too! :D a norco would be very nice, but it is a bit of a pain to get 1 imported isn't it?...apparently the norco evolve is not getting imported into UK till 2006!... (Y) anyway, i think any short streety frames with a 80mm sus will be perfect. leeson giant pashley (mhz) old t-rex/woodstock? norco evolves pace ID judge etc. on the jumpy side... DMR sidekick ID jekyll azonic steelhead and on the bouncy side... marzocchi EXR pro/MXcomp manitou blacks/axel? all i can think of at the moment. will edit if i can think of anymore steve

yes but i use DT DB spokes on all my wheels and this build has definately showed how others sucked... thanks its definately going to last at the rate how im riding it and how its still holding super strong! steve
-
i have heard many many bad things about CRC wheelbuilders are w*nk. >_< but i have come to a conclusion this is now wrong... few weeks ago i had a wheel built from CRC (i didn't know much about tarty so i didn't get one from there...) a mono on DT DB spokes/EX721 rim. - it was lush straight out of the box it felt as it should be built, a decent build. after weeks of abuse, heavy landings (i had a ronnie and a tryall before-they all buckled like hell with my heaviness of riding style) but this wheelbuild seems very very satisfactory! even after much much harsher landings today it was still holding up super strong with no signs of bent of buckling at all (very very minor if it did...) it gets double thumbs up for CRC. :( (Y) steve
-
ha ha he's not going to get validated anytime soon... steve

wow, that sounds interesting....starting on a saturday night then ride all morning and rest intervals...watch the sun rise then ride more till you get tired on the sunday afternoon..then go home for a bigggggg sleep. i like that idea. steve

Physio Advice, Mainly For Ankles Initially
Gandalf the Yellow replied to physio's topic in Trials Chat
erm luckily no injuries on ankle, and hope there won't be in the future from your adviced exercises! (Y) ok i will try that and hope things will get better on the wrist, thanks again you've been very helpful. steve -
ha ha, what can possibly fall into that small little gap?... (Y) and even if something small did go in...i presume he has a starnut which will stop the 'things' messing with the steerer?....there's hardly any space inside between the cap, and the nut. steve

What Are The Best Dust Caps On The Market?
Gandalf the Yellow replied to ..johal..'s topic in Trials Chat
if you had those free MBUK ones then do what i do, stop them flashing and rip those cheap batteries and bulbs out.... leave the metal casing cap on :D i have a blue giant and it matched quite nicely, i only put it on becuse i thought they'd match and they're free anyway so i don't give a sh*t if they get bumped by chavs! (Y) steve
